  1. I was under the impression we did well financially out of playing games in the NT.. almost certain we don't lose money from these games. We are in no position to whinge. We get better, we win games, we win games we have more people turn up, simple as that. It could be worse, Suns in r9 when we have not won a game, and could be the Swans ON mothers day when no one goes to our games in previous years?
  2. He told you he was out of his depth 1 month into the Job? Really? I doubt that, but whatever. Sim[ply Neeld turned out to be what a lot of Senior coaches are, good assistants. There is a list of them as long as your arm. Sick of people ignoring the facts because they did not like him and blaming the ones who appointed him, Yes, there must be blame on any coaching panel or person who selects a coach for the job and it does not work out.. that's a no brainer. but people tend to ignore that fact that Neeld was a highly rated coach in waiting, was courted by another couple of clubs and when appointed it was widely recognised as a great selection. hindsight is such a wonderful thing, a good exercise would be to go back and check Demonlanders initial posts when Neeld was appointed, and then how many of them applauded the selection and now how many of them join in the boring chorus of people who blame the people that put him in place.
  3. No that's fair enough, more just a term to emphasise the fact that I don't think we need him. Apologies.
  4. Fair enough, I thought at best he was a goer, at worst a liability.
  5. Showed we don't need him this year even with Chip forward. List clogger!
  6. Disagree, this attitude has been ok for the last few years, but we need to win and we need to win R1. Its vital.
  7. I'm not sure how you can say he has been terribly developed. In my opinion his development has been progressive, came in as a excitement machine that to often floated in and out of games, to now a consistent footballer who has developed a very good understanding of the game defensively. I honestly think the "lack of development" line that is trotted out when referencing MFC players is a little over used. Admittedly there have been some, and others have been bad selections with not much upside in their development. I think he is good player, at times a very good player, a natural footballer, who has both the athleticism and Football instincts that make good players.
  8. I'm ok with where we are at. Its a situation where we trade picks, and people will say are we ever going to back ourselves in and develop good talent, or we don't and people say we get no where with young talent. Obviously Pick 3 for a player and a another lower first round selection is a template that worked last year, but if the player is not there, then keep the picks, get an impact player straight away, Brayshaw and / or Petracca can be these players. A lot of talk, a lot of so called information, I said last week we were keeping the picks and I believed it as the person works at the club. But for everyone that believes what I say, there are others that believe Chook or GNF or other posters, but to quote the football saying of 2014.. it is what it is.
  9. not sure we need to be giving away Toump and Watts and Trengove.. 1 of.. and I think sadly Jack T is the one we should dangle. I look at Jack T and just think he is not that damaging, sad as it is. To quote every footballer's fav movie, its time "to get busy livin, or get busy dyin" we need to get busy living!
  10. I think Wright would be the wrong choice.
  11. I think I hear d what you heard, I laughed at Barrett saying we will go hard to trade picks, but there is not much coming out of Melbourne. In other words, he is just making it up. SO bad its funny the unaccountability of Media in this Industry. They simply make things up, say whatever they want and no one can call them on it. Honestly, the Journalism levels in Footy are like the players' in the AFL. There is so many of them that the quality has dropped. The talent pool has been sucked dry and now, so many have a voice. Sorry for my rant!
  12. Could gold coast give 2nd pick for Christensen and then we take that for Clark? I think Suns have pick 15 is that to much for Clark, their next pick is 29?
  13. I just ran into a Melbourne person who is employed at the club, know him very well, there is nothing happening behind the scenes. Players we targeted have not wanted to move, and at this stage a sit stands, we are taking 2 & 3 to the draft. He did say, there are still 5 days to go, but its all very quiet at the moment. Just passing on.
  14. Jeff Garlett a Demon (according to Trade Radio - unconfirmed) I like it, we need this type of player, quick outside.
  15. The old "spoke to a previous Co-worker who says Collingwood are talking to our best player, our captain and our heart and Soul player.. "
  16. I would, I am a fan. We should be looking at anyone who is a lot better than our bottom 6.
  17. Lucas makes Blease look like Michael Long. Horrible footballer. Keep pick 2 - Brayshaw Trade pick 3 for player and pick, it's a no brainer.
  18. When you think about, this is probably not about Premierships.. in a sense. Who is closer to a premiership Melbourne or Adelaide.. Adelaide you would think. But are just how close are they. Do they threaten the top 4 in the next 2 years.. i don't think so. They have some really good players. Walker / Sloane / Danger / Crouch. players that get them to in the 8 or just outside it. Melbourne have a couple of really good players. Jones / Tyson, potentially Hogan. And are in a better position to add either really top end high draft picks, or add a ready to go star like a Dangerfield. do they get close to the 8 in the next 2 years.. no, but they go up the ladder. In 4 years time.. it is possible that Melbourne have gone past Adelaide, if their talent is realised, and they add the depth and star power they need. In short, i don't think Dangerfield is winning a flag with either side, but he might end up earning a lot more money, living in his home state, playing with former crow friends and might play finals in 4 years time when Demons could be really on the march.
