Is SCG all of a sudden not available because the Saints and Swans cant play in Cairns.. its all just a giant (pardon the pun) mess.

i was against the GABAB originally, but get a full crowd in, make it an event, beat them at home.

would be madness if we dont select a player for the immediate future rather than a long term prospect. Get Stengle, get Freeman.. they can play.. we managed to control teh HB project, he let us down but it was clear we as a club were able to handle, wouldn't have years ago..

SCG is the best result.. purely based on footy. Smaller ground, our pressure will be suited to it.. it takes some of their electric movement out of it, probably neutralises no Langdon as much as any ground. We can beat Brisbane, i have no doubt, but it will be in teh middle again. Harmes to Zorko, he is in outstanding form and a real catalyst for the Lions. Clarry to take on McLuggage.

Its carnage everywhere, life and footy. Its really hard to accept and take at the moment, very deflating.. Game surely cant go ahead tomorrow night..

happy that ANB has showed something this year Dr.D, he has been good, he had to though IMO, i think he has been underwhelming, but a new year a new a clean slate and im happy to see him go well.

In my opinion the club should make a complaint. Im absolutely sick of commentators making it all about them. Jimmy Bartel hass a really good footy brain and i like him, he was relegated to a bit player a sidehow. Its simply not good enough and the media landscape in the country when it comes to covering sport is so far below credible its not funny.

The commentary was flat out amateurish, insulting and embarrassing. Its such a blight on our game and its at an all time low.

Yep understand, no doubt if he has a niggle or 2 a rest should be on the cards.

I would imagine they will be very cautious due to his history and at 8-0 we have that luxury. If it takes another 4/5 weeks then so be it. This is exactly why early wins are some important. Also why we should target another midfielder in the mid season draft!

This is now an important part of our season.. we need to make the most of this draft. Do we need an extra back or another outside runner? What is everyone's thoughts? this is no longer just a draft to fill spare spots, we need to make sure this is used as a strategic move to add to our list and help with player management.

Weid, although he is probably impatient and wanting to play senior footy, should just keep honing his craft and giving the club a headache every week, his time will come, injuries, form and resting, his time will come and he should want to stay at the MFC long term, at least the next 2 years, its going to be fun. Saying that, if a club like wanted him and dangled a very nice pick, of course you would look at it. Depth is wonderful, sadly, when you have depth, it means players sometimes miss out.

I think he is allowed to have non dominant games. I think he was pretty poor against North, Goldy seems to play very well against him. He worked his way into teh game on Saturday. Tom Hickey is in great form, is a physical ruckman, it was a battle, i think Max got on top in the last qtr and would claim a close victory. That's going to happen against similar ruckman, what we want with Max is to dominate the lesser likes. He smashed McEvoy, he beat Nankervis, had his way with the saints without Marshall and Ryder, Beat Stanley. That's what he needs to do. Max is fine.

I was at the game, i though Kossie looked fine, he had an almost night, no problem with his work ethic or his fitness in my opinion, same with Jacko, but you are right, they are still very young in terms of games. It was a very physically demanding match on Saturday night, id imagine there would be some sore bodies but i cant see any changes to be honest unless there is an injury? Chandler or Sparrow seem like teh next 2 in line though.. its a good problem to have.

Well the people running the stations have lost touch with what their audience wants. This game is constantly moving.. the action needs to be called or let the pictures tell the story.. qtr and half time and pre game is where they can tell us things and have a discussion.

Commentary is at an all time low across all mediums.. the need to talk throughout the game is criminal, the amount of great highlights not captured because we are getting history lessons on players . It comes down to the stations, that must be what they want, but its weak from the networks absolutely pathetic that they are not stronger. I like personality in my calls but just call the game, dont talk.

Did i miss the when the VFL side played? was that a Sydney Covid thing? that surely has to have an influence on changes?

No thats fine if your not a fan of long term contracts, i reckon 5 years is probably a good length, but Kanes double standards, no accountability ramblings are the thing that annoys me and most people i reckon. Anyway, i think Christian will keep playing well,, and imagine if we lost him over a couple of years to a rival side Cornes and teh like would smash us for not doing enough to keep him.

a lot suffered last year financially, i reckon we cant under estimate that. if we get close to 50K it will be a great effort.

There was a great clip shown On The Couch about our defensive efforts form our mids and wingers, dropping back to protect space and the outside , then run fwd once we get control of the ball. Fitness in this side cannot be underrated. Also the willingness of Oliver and Trac and Jordon and Viney to get back to provide outlets for the defenders is huge.. been something that has not always happened. thats the selflessness they talk about.

I agree Titan with most of what you say, especially the David King stuff, i just think the point to the scoreboard stuff is a bit overblown, in my opinion, i know we have only made finals once in 15 years.. and we have been a passive ordinary, laughable football club for most of that time, i like us standing up, i like the arrogance and the swagger of youth, and who knows what they said to Kozzie, it obviously fired him up, it was an extremely hot moment and the Coach got him and had a chat, move on. I for 1 want my club to be gracious but i also want it to be tough and relevant and play with an edge.

Its crazy there is no decision on this.

Exactley, and this highlights my reason why i get frustrated, as a well respected analyst of the game his distain for the club has foggied his thinking, it was brilliant coaching, gutsy coaching, and adapted for one game, we have managed to win 5 games prior to that doing something different.
