  1. 28th in the competition for goal assists.... but selfish... A couple have been ordinary, but its so overblown.
  2. We want picks, not players.. getting picks secures us a war chest for down the track, while also adding youth from the draft. Sure we might get a fringe ruckman, but we are hell bent on picks, and in particular 2 first rounders for this year (as our first pick is in the 30s)
  3. I think you stick with him as he has runs on the board, but hope we see increased output.
  4. We cant stand in his way, but potential to lose him and Chocco in the one off season is rather sobering.
  5. Luke has a crack, I thought he had a real go on Sunday. Sadly, his output is not as great as we need. He was really good against the Lions. Then his knee injury and the last couple weeks, like Gawn have been clearly hampered a bit. But he is more gone than Max is Gawn. Its not about him staying, its about what we get now. One thing I am confident in is that Luke will give his all until there are no more games, and I think his impact in September will be great, So I am behind him, I have been through the stages , denial, wrath, sadness.. now its acceptance.. He is a Dee until he isn't.
  6. Tomlinson was great, and much better replacing Petty than he was replacing May... but hard to see how he stays in to be honest, unless of course Lever plays. Toby Bedford is out.. although I'm sure Marvel will suit him better than most grounds, but is caught in that awful place of better than VFL.. not good enough for AFL. Clayton Obviously comes back in. As frustrating as he can be, the calls to drop Fritta are ridiculous. Tom Sparrow is the watch for me, I really like him, but he is often central to a broken chain of play. Also Christian Salem is a shadow of the player he was last year.. and obviously is coming from a long way back.. his strength is decision making and execution.. he is way of on both and looks slower that he usually does. This is a game that potentially could be lost at Selection.. Melky was pretty good and had a fair dinkum go.. but can he back up after an energy sapping Alice Springs and go again on a fast deck against a side will go quickly. May - Naughton Petty - Bruce Lever - JUH Hibbo - Weightman
  7. The suggestion is that Freo will have to lose players, deal with other clubs to get early picks and then on sell to us.. I imagine it will be Tim Kelly like, have to be a top 10 pick (Freo will need to acquire from other clubs by trading out players) Freos original first rounder (pick 15-18 range and possibly next years First rounder as well. Jackson is 21, has 12 years ahead of him, this aint getting done for much less.
  8. He has always had links to Freo and the fact that West Coast cant trade their first round pick ( at the moment anyway - AFL will probs let them) i think all chats have been with Freo, plus teh Eagles are just about to go full rebuild.. they are a fairly long way away from any success.
  9. Im not sure if they have to trade for Brayshaw?
  10. Fair enough, wasnt meaning to be combative, just asking teh where the pick 2 scenario fits. He is more chance of staying with us than going to Eagles.
  11. Of course you would with a another pick as well. But how do you suggest we get pick 2? He is not going to West Coast.
  12. Interesting report in on MMM Perth this morning with Lachy Reid (demon man) who says Freo are clearing the decks for the arrival of Jackson, Acres and Logue and Lobb all getting substantially less in terms of contracts than ithey should. Says Demons not interested in Players and it could take 3 first round picks for Jackson. Sadly he also said Angus Brayshaw is Freo bound as well. We should brace ourselves.
  13. You honestly think he is staying?
  14. Yep, to be honest, that's a pretty big sign. And some other info i got a couple of weeks ago that if you were to frame a percentage of him going, it was 90%.. i know things change, but smoke = fire. I hope im wrong.
  15. I agree, i am sad and i am pretty angry about it. We wont get what we want / deserve. Ultimately a back end first rounder that will be pushed out further by North getting a PP. They might throw a player in or go for future first and swaps.. but ultimately we get shafted every way you look at it.
  16. LOL.. im actually not but i can see how you arrive at that conclusion. But he aint staying.
  17. Is the last game Oliver missed also at Traegar park against Port? EDIT** I think that started his last injury layoff.
  18. Luke is gone. Move on. Its about the return now, and it will be Freo.
  19. Was tongue in cheek , no offense meant, have loved Melksham and his contribution to teh Dees... he aint replacing Oliver though.. and to be fair.. none will.
  20. With all due respect Dee, how do you know Laurie wont be impactful? he hasnt played at AFL level?
  21. Haydn McLean is the one for me as well Spirit, he has great hands, is a big bugger and would be cheap.
  22. Everyone is talking about our Offence (Media types are anyway) and how its got to get better or we cant win the flag, it can absolutely get better.. but its tracking nearly identical to last year at teh same stage. Last year we had Tom Mc kicking goals, pretty consistently. Obviously we are missing him. 2021 - 11-17 we averaged 76ppg 2022 - R11-17 we average 74.5ppg. * dropped 1.5ppg in 2022 2021 - after 17 rounds we averaged - 79.9ppg 2022 - after 17 rounds we average - 81ppg 2021 - after 17 rounds - 3 x 100 points plus games 2022 - after 17 rounds - 4 x 100 points plus games after 17 rounds 2021 - 194 Goals after 17 rounds 2022 - 198 Goals In fact our year is going pretty much identical to last year. There is so much upside in this team its not funny.
  23. That's ludicrous by Salem to even suggest Melksham to replace Oliver.
