  1. We certainly need big man depth. Daw is an all rounder, can ruck, can play down back, can play fwd. I think its an ok play.
  2. He is a genuinely lovely guy, who is super fit, cleared medicallyy to play again and has talent. So there are 4 positives. Sadly the 1 negative is to much, there is more chance that he receives another big hit than he doesnt and thats the bottom line. Think we do need someone else though, i know Tmac, Brown, Jackson, Petty even, but still feels like an opportunity to get the best VFL, WAFL, SANFL full forward and give him a go.. why not?
  3. Im not talking about Collingwood, im talking about Eddie specifically, he has helped a lot of people. As i said, he is answerable for his mistakes and there has been lots.
  4. Its understandable that people will come for Eddie, he is a big boy, he is answerable for his mistakes. I Wonder when the people that he has helped, done a lot for, raised money for, made their life better will step up and go into bat for him. Hope they do, because there will be lots of them.
  5. When you are a demon you will always be a demon and i liked Oscar, he seemed like a really popular player amongst his peers, the fact remains he was not up to it, just a rung below, had some good games, no doubt about it, but he was not improving, maybe even regressing a bit so it was inevitable. Hope he gets to enjoy footy somewhere, he had done a lot more than most of us when in it comes to playing AFL so good on him.
  6. We whinge and moan all year about not having anyone who can kick teh ball and no pace.. we go and get one and then we still find reason to do the same. Its a needs selection, smart selection, as is Laurie and even Rosman. They are what we need. We didnt need Carroll, or we didnt need Cook, we have those types, we dont have Bowey or Laurie types. Drafting for the now, as they should, the window is open for us, these guys get it an kick it nicely, read the play well, are clever, have some pace, and can play through midfield, wing or fwd line. Its a really good haul for 3 picks.

  9. Goodwin simply has to change his ways, it happened with Buckley, Thompson and even Hardwick to a degree. He has to let go of a few things, his single minded attitude on some match tactics and game style, which is hard as he is the coach and its his ship but, that why you employ assistant coaches and have experienced people like Richo and now Williams around you.. If he does, then he will develop and get better results, if he doesn't then he will pay the price and be gone sooner rather than later
  10. Really good appointment, with such a wealth of young talent, he will be a great fit, he has a great footy mind and great footy person. Great appointment.
  11. 13 years is a long time, regardless whether you liked him or not i think teh timing is right. Think Josh had a good run, did some really good things at the club. Good luck to him.
  12. Thanks Cal. Joking!! just think its not a time to draft a bolter. Just my opinion. But time will tell.
  13. That is interesting and makes sense as all the whispers was that he was looking to get out and MFC happy to let him go but to get through the trade an draft period first. Can Richardson do the job on his own? Still watch this space on Luke Ball being involved at the club, im still hearing it.
  14. Blows my mind that a guy like Cal Twomey who people rate suggests we would take a speculative pick with Holmes at our second selection. He may turn out to be a good player, but pick the best players available and pick for needs before speculative picks.
  15. haha.. i believe you.. the only thing i didnt put in was the daylight line.. and i almost did!!
  16. Respect the list and good on you for having a go.. No way Petracca is 5th most important player, he is number 1, then Oliver, then May, then Gawn then Ben Brown. But we all see it differently.
  17. All fair points and well made DeeSpencer, I still think having a premiership indigenous player at the club would give fellow indigenous players a good feeling, regardless of where they are from.
  18. If we were looking at Smith, then Lewis Jetta would be a really sound pick up and would cost less than Smith. All of it makes sense really and teh club of course should offer him a spot. we should just take pick 18 & 19 to the draft, this year thats all we need going in pretty blind to the draft. If he gets 10-12 possessions on the wing, i reckon a lot of them would put us in a scoring opportunity, and foot skill is what we need, pace is great, but smarts and skill go a long way. Imagine the lift it would give Nev and Kozzi and Toby to have him there, if we took a punt on HB, then 2 years for LJ.. no brainer.
  19. This will be a huge blow if he leaves, especially with what he has achieved in such a short time. The club simply has to hold him to his contract. It cant be happening as only 2 weeks ago he was instrumental in BB coming across. I suspect and hope its happening at the completion of 2021 ready to take the crows on for teh preseason of 2022.
  20. Interesting little line from afl.com.au Melbourne has re-signed a number of players it is yet to make public including Mitch Brown, Jay Lockhart, Kade Chandler and James Jordon.
  21. I agree with what you say deelusions, he is super competitive, had a really good year but from what i know of him he is a young 22 and that's fine, i just think he ha some maturing to do and if it doesn't happen soon, then i can see him really cracking it, he would love to be courted by other teams.. just an opinion.
  22. When i say the club i mean players as well, of course its on them, its one the coaches, the players and the football club. Everyone.
  23. Trac is locked until the end of '22 i would be blown away if he left, his work is just beginning, he could end up as a captain of the club, not only did his body transform, his work ethic increase, his dedication rise, his maturity blossomed. He wont leave. Oliver on the other hand, he could be a worry, because he simply has not matured, he is only young, that may happen. Really, its time to take Jabba the Hutchy and Barrett with less than a grain of salt, they think they are redefining the media with their self indulgent podcast that is nothing bit absolute garbage and ego massaging. Journalists like them have and care zero for accountability. They are ordinary people who think they are change makers. 2021 is MFCs biggest year for some time, i know each year is big, but we simply cannot afford to not have a successful year, we have come from a long way back, and slowly improved, played finals, won 2 of them, played in a prelim, the year after was amess, i think a lot of us although filthy about it, gave them some grace, this year was a mess as well, and i think we only played ok footy and just missed the 8 in a crazy season.
