Nev is shot.. he kept going to ground, looking for a free, he couldnt get away from anyone, he couldnt chase anyone. Toughas they come, gret 1 on 1 and a supreme team man, i love him, we all love him.. but if you are wanting to recruit Nev and you offer him 2/3 years then good luck, it feels like they are recruiting a cultural player, because you wouldnt recruit him on for and , Nev would be silly not to take it. He is not part of the future for us and him going would not change the way we feel about him.

Just read a Tom Morris (i know..) report saying Buckley has spoken directly to nev Jetta and they could offer him a multi year deal to continue career at the Pies. Interesting. Lots of looking back and looking at trades.. but what excites you about the Dees in 2021. Some positive re-enforcement for us all. give us 3 Things: 1. Trent Rivers - Took a little while to find his feet but by the endo f the year played like a mature 100 gamer. Tough, composed, Skilful and the ability to develop into a mid is a great sign. Really liked his first year. 2. Adem Yze - Will be interesting to see the input and how quickly there are signs that his style and influence is being absorbed. Watching how Goodwin interacts with him will be fascinating 3. Christian Petracca - Those who have some football intelligence (all of us) will know that was his second pretty impressive year, others will say he just exploded and needs to do it more to be in the Dusty mould. in a 22 game season, he may just find even more gears to go and watching him in a final would be something else.

Tom was terrific in 2018, in fact he has been a really good servant of the footy club, was more than a capable defender and made a great switch to the fwd line and played significant part in lots of great victories. There does come a time though when things have to move on and Tom is sadly part of this. There is no spot for him down back, and his fwd craft is no good when he cannot mark or turn or run and that does not look like getting better. Its a no brainer that he moves on for both him and teh club, i really genuinely hope there is no bad blood as it is just the way it is. As i always say, the minute you pull on a Red and blue jumper for either 1 game or 200 games you are a demon for life and Tom will be remembered as a really good Demon.

With the confirmed news that Tom Mc will be moving on ( if a club wants him) then i would think and hope (but this club.. not expect) they have a pretty solid and good understanding of what they will get to cover his position. In all likeliness, Gawn will ruck and drop across half back, Jackson will ruck fwd half and roam, Weid will be teh CHF.. i think they need an anchor, lead out of the square fwd. Brown is that.

Spot on HFF. I will die on a hill that getting Lever in when we should have prioritised outside run was so costly, financially and team balance wise. Anyway, that argument wont ever be won. Lets not wait unto next year and say right lets go after some more outside run. If Smith has a good year and we make finals, then teh investment is worth it. Have to roll the dice now. 2021 is such a crucial year for this club and its main players. Pert has done well convincing sponsorship to stay on and we are in a sound position, but they wont stay if all we get is negative media fuelled by sub standard performance. Star players will chase success if they dont get it at our club, the coach will be sacked if we get to a stage where its mathematically impossible to make the 8 or earlier if performances are worse. There is more pressure on us as club than any other going into 2021 in my opinion.,

He has risen through the ranks and negotiated a very tricky period for Cricket and their players and managed to secure great outcomes. I know he is very popular within the cricket ranks and has a great rapport with the players, ( an ex colleague works at CA) Im not sure he would be interested as its probably a step down, his progression would suggest a CEO role somewhere. Anyway, The club should do look at all aspects and consider.

Giants first pick is 39 as far as i can tell.. is Pruess worth more than 39 simply because of demand and he is contracted.. would GWS part with their first pick in the draft for him? Very interesting negotiating to be done. IMO he is worth slightly more than 39 which could end up mid 40s by the time it gets to us. They may get a second rounder for Caldwell.. could we demand that?

2 years would have for sure.. 3 years is a but much but depends what the 3rd year is? Good call DD. I know there is some reluctance about Smith, but i think good players can only help us, and he is a good player. We dont need him to be a contested hard at it footballer. We just need him to spread the field and run and kick. Polec's age is obviously better, but Smith seems like a great fella, from a great club with attributes we need. If sound medically and relatively cheaply, then im in for getting him in red and blue.

We cant go again with the same set up, the FD would be derelict in their duties not to make a changes here. Tom Mc Stays and he works his bum off to get into teh shape then thats a bonus.. but we need another Tall. The club simply has to get it done.

You know what i mean, you cant win the flag unless you play finals. every team wants to win a flag, but first you have to play finals.. Football clubs are no different to corporations, always reviewing, always changing or at least aiming to change, i agree, lots of chance sin this club, but whats the alternative.. no do anything, we have to keep thriving to get the best set up, its on the club.. do i have faith?, its hard to with this club as i believe professionalism and MFC do not go hand in hand at all.. BUt have to keep going forward.

Couldn't agree more Dr. I think the fact that we had such a public review last year and we blew a chance to make finals heaps more pressure on teh club. The media will make a big deal out if this, but every year we dont make finals i want a review, the competition is about making the last 8.. review until you get it right, if its nor right, you go again until you get the mix right.

Its absolute bunkem.. Clayton was 100% angry about finishing 5th.. Like Morris said (who i despise) Clayton is competitive and wants to be the best, maybe as another poster said, its immaturity and he needs to get better.. BUt there is a snowflakes chance in hell that Clayton will leave the Dees. he loves it, loves the players. Its not happening.
