2025 Membership
I’m certain they know things aren’t great. But every member we get proves our value to sponsors, and provides weight when talking to the afl about fixturing and all other matters. Missing finals will already have an impact but those of us than can afford to stick fat should do so for the longer term good of the club.

2025 Membership
Best of luck HT. As I said above I don’t begrudge anyone who has to make choices to balance the books. No shame in downgrading to an armchair/3-game membership either though if you can stretch things to that.

2025 Membership
Write them an email, send them a lette, start a petition, mount a board challenge (just don’t take the club to court ffs). Do what you like but costing the club financially is counterproductive and will not result in greater success in any way. Yes. So what? Should I laugh and celebrate my own clubs troubles?

2025 Membership
Anyone not renewing because they’re unhappy with board or management or a particular player is weak as [censored]. Financial reasons I can understand (although I would suggest downgrading to cheaper options rather than cancelling) but punishing the club as a [censored] protest against any individual(s) is childish and self-defeating.

That’s one option. Another is that they think they can create the story by piling on the pressure. If they can drive an external review that gets them a whole bunch of stories about the review, who’s conducting the review, what are the potential outcomes etc. Even better if they can get a sacking or two then there’s more clicks to be had. They smell blood alright and are going to keep going until they get something to happen, or someone else shows signs of becoming a live target.

And if someone hadn’t left Blake Acres on his own in the goal square with a minute to go in last years semi we’d be above 70k, that wasn’t the boards fault..

KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!
This is it. I’m as flat as anyone that we haven’t got there for a second flag on the G but the drama on here is overblown. They’re hard to win.

KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!
My point is people seem to think we’re in some unprecedented dive towards folding the club. We’re not even losing as many players as the Tigers are (after Dimma bailed on everyone for a better deal) and we’re starting from a stronger position. It’s obviously not ideal but the only confirmed out is ANB, and Trac seemingly if a deal can be done. The club will be fully operational in 2025.

KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!
It is happening to another club, Richmond is haemorrhaging players on an hourly basis. They won 2 games! Where the 24/7 watch on tiger land?

Well sure but they’re in charge.. My point was more that if they don’t trust themselves to make the decisions they should go, no indications so far that they don’t. Whether demonlanders want an external review right now or not is a bit irrelevant because it’s not up to us.

Thats Richo’s job, and Pert’s job and they then report to the board. An external review is not some magic spell where a kindly football wizard comes in and says “you need to do x, y and z” and then you do that and you win a flag next year. An external review involves a whole bunch of meetings (which takes time away from doing actual work the footy department should be doing between now and November) and then they go away and then they put together a PowerPoint (based on previously prepared template) and you get the PowerPoint and an invoice for $100k and they disappear and the same people (Pert, Richie, Board) make the actual decisions and are actually accountable and the consultants are off drinking cocktails and never have to worry about whether anything in the PowerPoint makes any difference to anything. Its useful if a) the board want to make certain decisions but want to shift the blame to the consultants or b) the people internally have NFI what to do in which case they’re better off just getting out of the way and letting someone else do it.

Club in crisis - Media pile on - August 2024
Me. Demonland. I have once again renewed my interest in Margo Robbie. No suggestion at this stage Margot is considering leaving her film producer husband for some weirdo on a footy forum, just that the interest has again been made clear.

Time to go Goody?
Well that’s probably not unreasonable, everyone else on here seems to want the whole place cleaned out from the board to the bootstudder which I don’t think is helpful. I think we have to keep Goodwin for at least another year. The back end of 2021 is the best football I’ve seen us play in my life. We’ve been exciting before, we’ve scored heavily before but that finals series was something else. I don’t think he’s had a clear run at it since, and while we’re all flat about the straight sets we weren’t far off. This year has been no good but we make some changes, see what we can get in the trade (despite CP5 tanking our brand) and draft and go again. I don’t see any better alternatives out there - west coast can’t even find anyone to apply for their job.
-
Time to go Goody?
Why would you add in depth like Tomlinson though? He’s not best 22 and has no contract which is why he’s going. He’s hardly Shai Bolton. Brayshaw would give his left agate to be still playing for us. Can’t blame the club that he’s not. Smith made his own mistake. It’s not a tigers situation at all.

Time to go Goody?
Hence why I said “changes to be made no doubt” which you seem to have quoted but not quite grasped.

Time to go Goody?
Don’t bring ANB into it, completely unrelated to club issues. If you don’t think the club will survive without Trac send him a letter with your pocket money taped to it and see if that changes his mind. Meanwhile the adults in list management will work out what deal we can get and how to move forward. Sacking the board and coaching staff isn’t going to change his mind, Trac wants out for Trac, wants to play in front of the pies big crowds and boost his TikTok numbers. No one said everything is fine but a complete reset equals a decade of recovery. Maybe Pert needs to go, maybe it’s Richardson. Maybe there’s others, but burning the joint down helps nothing.

When Faced with Adversity, You Fight Back and Win
Good to see not everyone wants to burn the joint down! Post of the week.
-
Time to go Goody?
Trac’s not even bigger than Gawn let alone the club. Norf are 10 years into a rebuild and won 3 games. They’re a shambles. Tiges entire list is leaving. They’re in trouble. We’re under the pump no doubt but burning the joint down doesn’t make 2025 better, it sets us back a decade. Changes to be made no doubt, but panicking doesn’t help anything.

Couldn’t agree anymore if I said it myself Harf.

Time to go Goody?
It’s really not. It would be disappointing to lose Trac but no player is bigger than the club

Wasted millions on legal cases - we got sued? Can’t just say no thanks we’d prefer not to. No home base - yeh since the 70s. It’s disappointing but not new. Poor comms, your opinion. My view is you don’t need to feed the machine unless you have anything to say. Pert - (and Roffey, and Max for that matter) I haven’t liked the culture talk either. I think there was too much talk after 2021 about how good the culture was and we haven’t backed that up. Would’ve preferred to let results do the talking. The board appoints the management who run the club. Our issues are management/football issues and bad luck, and a player who’s gone a bit rogue. Steady the ship and reset rather than burn it all down because we’re all upset is my view.

So Trac has decided he wants out and started a fire. other players are talking to the media about it because they’re [censored] off. and that leads you to lose faith in the board? Short of kidnapping the full list and holding them hostage in the rooms at Casey how is the board supposed to stop whispering and leaking? People have very strange ideas about what a board is and does, and an inflated idea of the value of an external review.

We won a flag. It wasn’t that long ago, not yet 3 years in fact. Take a breath.

Pies had a little flare up of their own issues recently with regards to their CEO - didn’t seem to get any legs despite being ongoing for a while. Other clubs get on with things behind closed doors, I’m not sure why some on here think we need the board/CEO to get up and dance every time the media monkeys start cranking their organs
