  1. That’s not the jumper, that’s cos Melksham absolutely pantsed him
  2. AJ isn’t the greatest but he wants to compete which puts him ahead of some others. He was 4-5m behind that brisbane defender and made up the ground to kick an important goal, and his time in the ruck wasn’t bad. I think we keep him in.
  3. I like that while they had us on transition (d50 to i50% 27.9% to their 41.2% - a 13% differential) they only converted those to scores 16.5% vs our 13.1% - a 3.4% differential. Big win for our back 6, whether that’s sustainable I don’t know. You’d obviously like to shut down the transition earlier in the chain..
  4. What a win! I gave us no chance before the game (and up until 3QT if I’m honest). Thought we’d scrap it out for 3 quarters and leak a few goals in the last.. 4.8 in the last is massive compared to the season so far, should really have won by 4 goals as we missed a few easy ones but I’ll take it. Importantly we took 16 marks i50, compared to our season average of 9. Only equalled that against the eagles. Took a mark on 28% of our i50s which is our best so far this year. Melksham helps a lot with this both marking and hitting targets. Also a little underrated in the win is the defensive effort, kept the Lions to 11 marks i50 which helped limit their scoring. Hopefully we can keep Milkshake on the park for most of the year, and throw the kitchen sink at Kozz to keep him pls.
  5. He is a shocker, half the time he doesn’t even look and just hits the spare defender on the chest 25m out from goal.
  6. just not interested in wasting my time
  7. No one has ever yet made it clear to me why or how changing the game plan and the coach is going to make the players kick better. Unless the plan is to turn over the whole list it just seems like people are going on vibes
  8. We kicked 9.17 against the blues in 2023 and lost by 2 points. We should’ve won by 5 goals but the players let themselves down. You don’t throw the toys out of the cot and start again after that, you do goalkicking practice.
  9. Well you were wrong in 2022 and 2023 but you’re probably right now
  10. I’m not telling you you were wrong I’m saying you’re hindsighting it now
  11. Lost 2 finals in 2023 by a combined total of 9 points, we weren’t far off so Blind Freddy must’ve been watching something else
  12. Fair, I hadn’t realised brisbane were so short, but their shorties are mostly A-grade. Their mosquito fleet has kicked 50 goals, average of 6.25 between those that have played this year, pies shortarses have kicked 43 (avg of 8.6) and ours have kicked 33 (avg of 4.7). Bris average 17.8 disposals and 4.5 marks (career avg used for McCarthy and Coleman), Pies 18.9 disposals 4.2 marks (added N Daicos 184cm). Ours 14.5 disposals, 3.1 marks (incl Viney). Fine to be short if you are good, Bowey, Chandler, Pickett & Viney are good. Spargo, Laurie, Sharp, Henderson should only play if one of the good shorties is out. Admission: at 178 I’m also a shortarse in AFL terms so no bias here
  13. I will just add that we’re currently on an average attendance of 37,907 for our 9 games. 8th overall and ahead of Port, Swans, WC, Freo etc. 9th place on just home games with 40,002 (obviously boosted by Anzac Eve but that goes for others too). Bombers and Tigers 11th and 12th with 37k and 36k. We do ok despite the peanuts on social media talking us down when we get a low crowd against a team with no fans.
  14. Feel real bad* for the ducks, I mean hawks… *not really
  15. This is my biggest problem with our list, too many leprechauns. Can’t have Spargo, Laurie, Bowey, Chandler, Sharp in the same side, you just can’t compete with that many undersized players (Koz is the same size but he’s a level above)
  16. There is just no reality where a coach 2 years after a flag with 2 subsequent top4 finishes and prelim finals gets sacked. It just would not have happened under any circumstances and people should let it go. Whether change is needed now or not it is pure fantasy to think he was ever getting the axe after ‘23.
  17. Agree we’re not fit enough, but it’s not the whole story. I do think we need a new fitness staff.
  18. But how hard you work depends on the game plan. A new plan means players getting caught out of position and either they have to work harder to get into position or someone else has to work harder to cover. Cumulatively everyone is doing more than they would otherwise need to and that takes a toll. We looked gassed at the end of the 3rd, Disco and McVee playing keepings off to waste the last couple of minutes was to try and save something for the last but we didn’t have it.
  19. Press conferences are a requirement of the AFL & media partners, the idea for coaches is to get through them without actually giving any info out.
  20. Can’t pin that one on Goody imo, game plan works, had us 19 shots to 15 at 3QT but the players can’t kick. Yes maybe we need a new kicking coach but at the same time these are professional footballers who get paid to kick - fix yourselves boys ffs! Coaching can only do so much but eventually you have to execute under pressure.. Another last quarter fade out though is pretty hard to cop. Selwyn and co need to move on.
  21. That’s me done. Not coming back to a game til they sack the fitness staff. Can’t win games if you stop at 3QT
  22. Trac blindly kicking it anywhere i50 Is driving me bonkers
  23. Playing ok just can’t kick for goal. [censored] me this watson germ gets looked after and we can’t even get a trip paid when 60,000 people saw it. Should be 3 goals up
