POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs West Coast
Don’t buy into that asterisk rubbish, any team would’ve taken a flag that year and be lauding it over everyone. We were the best team in it that year by far and smashed all comers. Should’ve won another one in 22 or 23 but now we look cooked. No depth and couldn’t get the key forward we needed.

Luke Parker Strike in the VFL
😂 I’m not Luke Parker by the way, you seem confused about my role in this. I didn’t bump anyone so what you put up with or don’t doesn’t really concern me. I said I thought Parker will get 4 or 5, he’s chosen to bump, got the guy in the head with obviously a fair bit of force so he’s going for an extended break. My separate point was that while players have a duty of care to each other I think players also need to have a duty of care to themselves - if you run around a football field expecting that everyone will get out of your way that’s not going to go all that well. Not excusing Parker, it’s just a reality.

Luke Parker Strike in the VFL
He should probably assume the bloke coming straight at him is going to bump him. Maybe he can also think “he shouldn’t really bump me here” but he’s gonna get bumped.

Luke Parker Strike in the VFL
4 weeks, might be 5 if it was in the AFL. Not as bad as Webster on Simpkin imo as Simpkin had kicked it and was open. I'm not sure what the Essendon bloke was doing here, you might not expect to get knocked into next week but you’ve got to expect some contact surely? Seems like he didn’t even see Parker when he was running straight at him

2024 MRO & Tribunal
It’s time we admitted to ourselves that this is our own fault, through our superior physical preparation and the natural physical attributes of our players “potential to cause injury” only applies to Melbourne players, other players just aren’t as inherently dangerous as we are

NON-MFC: Round 10
38.16 is ridiculous goal kicking in these conditions

NON-MFC: Round 10
The live ladder is making me feel a lot better about missing out on the 4 points last week, but I’m also feeling ever so slightly less chuffed about beating this rabble (I know they’re missing a few from the team that played us). Best viewing of the night will be Scott chewing through a [censored] sandwich in the post match. He’ll be fuming 😂

Recent rule changes fail objectives
This is the problem, and they’ve also either done away with or stopped enforcing the protected area so if you’re on the wing there’s usually a man on the mark plus another one on the 45° angle guarding inside so you’ve got to kick long. Defeats the purpose. Knowing the AFL nothing ever goes back to the way it was, they’ll just layer more interpretations on top to try and tweak things. While we’re asking the AFL to consider their ad hoc changes can they take a look at players leading with the head, flopping, ducking and diving to get free kicks rather than protecting themselves?

Interesting comment from Goody about McAdam going back to the start with his body to get fit, sounds like they had to put some work in to get him going. I think Salem’s in a different situation, his previous issues were thyroid not hammy, plus he’s already had extra time over a regulation hammy recovery. I think if the hammy is fine he’ll straight come in like others in recent times, not via the vfl. He’s best 22.

I think BBB is the easy in, he’s been emergency last few weeks so is next in imo. Salem if fit is best 22 so comes in as well. Hore and Laurie were the other emergencies last week, Marty’s out so maybe Laurie in if Salem doesn’t get up - or the other option might be Tholstrup. He’s been in for a game and also named emergency a couple of weeks ago which is closer than I think Fullerton has got.

Premiership Rings?
Absolutely this. If the pies want to spend $50k per head of their own money they can buy all their players runners-up rings this year too after we beat them in the granny - the league gives the winners on the day a medal, no need to change that imo

Toss up between Laurie and Billings to go out for mine - Billings seems to be considered in the best 22 ahead of Laurie and Woey Jnr but his form hasn’t been great last couple, Laurie though seems to be only in to cover injuries so I’d say he goes out for Bowzer. Blues aren’t coming in riding high like they were when we played them in the final, and it seems we’re less reliant on dominating the centre square this year so we don’t need Trac, Clarry and Viney to dominate Cripps and Walsh to win it, I think they’ll have trouble moving the ball against us like they did against the Cats at time and like the Cats had against us. Quietly confident though we’d want to be fresher than we were against the Lions. 5 day break is the price we pay for being a big club now, we’re prime time every week - not hidden off broadway like Hawks, Norf and co
