The Age Article: 'Enough is Enough' - Simon Goodwin.
Now Giles oversees every reference to Goodwin and his part of that saga. I did enjoy this subtle hint to a certain news corp journo and his source.

2024 Average Crowd Attendance
My numbers are a true reflection of how many people they get to games, which is not as many as us which is why I don’t know why you’re determined to pump them up as a big club

2024 Average Crowd Attendance
Nah. They’ve never averaged above 40k home attendances, even 2015 winning their 3rd flag on the trot ave home crowd was 38,626. 2017 and 2018 we averaged higher home crowds and we hadn’t even got good yet. We’ve beaten them 5 out of the last 6 years on home attendance (excl 2020 - no crowds).

Where is the MFC Board ?
Demonland is in crisis mode and many on here are having an existential crisis but the club isn’t. Clearly we need to play better and if we don’t we may even miss finals but some people need to touch grass.

SOLUTIONS NEEDED. 2 JUNE 2024. Memo to Goody
On board with this, as a supporter the flag wasn’t what I’d been waiting for as it happened on tv, I couldn’t be there and that itch won’t be scratched unless we win one at the G. But that doesn’t mean it’s not a genuine flag - we won it and anyone else would be claiming it too.

Why would Dees fans want to agree with them?

Where is the MFC Board ?
Football issue, not board issue. No need to hear from management about how they’re going to get our contest and defence going again..

Don’t agree. We dominated 21 from start to finish and smashed each 3 finals. Go tell a pies fan I reckon there’s an * next to their flag last year as the umpires got them past GWS and our goal kicking got them past us - pretty sure they won’t cop that

Deep Midfield Issues
Wouldn’t be surprised if he reheats the same Dees article he writes every month or so again this week

If it was indeed 2 first round picks, Adelaide had 8 & 21 - those players have played a combined 2 games - not much impact. You’re not getting Harley Reid with those picks either, maybe 6, 8 & 13 but even then the eagles probably say no.. they didn’t want Norfs picks. No one on the trade table was anywhere near pick 13 value.

Even if it was we will they’re a wait and see for me. Big statements don’t impress me from this lot. I still haven’t forgiven them for hanging Brayshaw’s helmet at the SCG and all touching it as they ran out before kicking 1.6 in the first quarter 🫣 They all quote the Daniher “it’s not what you say it’s what you do”, time to do..

Why are you roping Hollands and Bowes in? Hollands went to the blues with his brother and Bowes went to the most favoured of all trade destinations Geelong. Were we ever getting either? No. If we did get Sharp would we be any better? No. He was so good the suns delisted him. People would just be bagging him instead of Billing’s. The A-graders are not A-grade at the moment and that makes everyone look bad. Picking up other fringe players instead of the fringe players we did get wouldn’t change anything. 2nd ruck? We had one and Max didn’t want to or couldn’t play with him. No AFL level ruck is gonna come and play at Casey so we need to make do.

Sharp who did nothing in 4 years at the Suns? Including 0 games in 2023? Who should we have swapped for him, Trac or Viney? Maybe Lever? It’s impossible to defend our trading because people have imaginary scenarios in their head about it. We were top 4 for 3 years and therefore had minimal draft picks to work with. If you want to do big trades you need to give up something, in hindsight maybe we should’ve put some premiership players up for trade but that would’ve only happened if the club knew we weren’t contending this year and they obviously thought we were still in it.

You can disagree but who would you have got instead? Easy to say we should’ve got better players but who specifically? Hunter, Billing’s, Schache, Hore and Fullerton were all basically free - who else was available for free that makes us better? The problem is our best 3 mids aren’t playing well, guys like Sparrow and Rivers have gone backwards, Lever is out hurt etc. McAdam yes looks like a miss at the moment but swapping our no good depth for other teams no good depth hasn’t made any difference

My point exactly. Lots of people using 20/20 hindsight on drafting and trading but missing critical points. Shafting Gus was never going to happen. Even if it did happen we weren’t keeping Jordon as he had an offer from the swans to play regular game time and was taking it. He would not be a walk up start if he’d stayed given we had Windsor coming in and Billings (yes people may pretend they knew Billings was going to be a dud but that wasn’t clear at the time, we brought him in to play 1s). Grundy, Harmes and Jordon are not why we are where we are now.
