Its modern footy, your good players don’t play 2s. May is straight back in as well. The expectation is that the fitness staff have them ready to hit the ground running.

At @Tony Tea would say “footy is lies”. No one is out there telling the truth about everything going on at their club.

We played them on their home turf. Worried about Max, early doors but he’s averaged ~5 marks a game, this year its 2.5 so far. I’d like to see Campbell but Max doesn’t want a second ruck apparently, wants to play 85%+ game time on ball. AJ in should help a little. Team gets better this week with May and Melk back. Langford if he can get going should be an improvement on Spargo or Taj. Bigger body even though it’s game 2.

Not sure I agree with the premise of this thread. Home v GWS where they get 8 fans and don’t play often, Norf at Marvel then Suns at the G, if we were flying we should win 2 of those or all 3 and we’d be riding high going into the Cats and we’d be drawing 40-50k against the Bombers. The team has let us down not the AFL.

I think this is an underrated point. I don’t know how we can keep playing Bowey, Spargo, Henderson, Sharp in the same team, you can’t have that many little blokes in one team in today’s footy. Throw in Langdon and that’s 5 out of 22 who aren’t gonna take an overhead mark..

Well if we keep playing like today we’re 0-5 (and 0-23 cos today was literally uncompetitive). We can play better and should take it up to the Suns, but will we? Hopefully May back at least.

This season was always about whether Trac and Oliver could get back to prime form and they haven’t. They may get there. We’ll see what we get against GC. Mids got smashed today, as did everyone else. We’re also missing 4 of our best 22. We can still play finals but need to win next week and beat the Bombers or we’ll be out of the running. 2-3 has us alive, 0-5 or 1-4 and we’re cooked.

Flat as a tack. North might be better than we thought, but clearly we’re worse. Just a really strange performance where no one was any good. We get better when we get May and Kozz back, plus Windsor, but it clearly won’t fix today’s problems. Can’t kick it high into a stationary forward line for the 4th year running. Seasons not over, it’s only round 2. Coach isn’t getting sacked so don’t waste your time on that yet. But we need to lift and soon. Max needs to learn or accept playing with a second ruck. Wasted a year with Grundy but he needs help against the big boys.

Norf errors keeping us in this, they should be 4 goals up. Really testing the optimism I had after last week.

Any danger of a clearance ffs? Mids getting absolutely smashed

1 goal from insufficient intent, one from a bad norf turnover and one from a 50m penalty. Would be nice to see one from us hitting a target i50

Would be nice if our mids could touch the ball. Oliver looks way off the pace.

How the —— have they kept that so quiet? All the news was “oh he’s been interviewed but wasn’t involved, no charges etc..” Cats get the best media run in the comp, can you imagine if one of our boys was fronting court?

Fritta’s 17th on our all time goal kicking, and should finish the year 13th behind Barassi. Likely finish his career in the top 10. Hasn’t been at his best since the bung foot but he’ll come good. At least he can kick straight, JVR and Koz aside none of the others are much good at that (Turner maybe also ok)

Genuinely dislike going to pies games, unhappy insecure people who need to ruin everyone else’s day just to make themselves feel good. Hope we smash them on KBD

We’re singled out because there a couple of other clubs (Blues, Bombers) who thought they were going to print money at the Darklands and when that didn’t happen think they deserve our MCG spot.. they can p*** right off..

Took a few days to get through 22 pages but here we are. Nice to be back after the offseason, even better to be under cover in the members nice and dry while it was bucketing outside. Did we lose it at selection? No. Lost by 3 points to a serious team while creating more and better chances. Should we have gone smaller? Goody has never been horses for courses, he’s best-22 each week and that’s what we picked. Where we lost it was having a young team who aren’t all match fit and running out of legs towards the end of the 3rd & 4th. Didn’t have the legs but we nearly rolled them anyway, I think it’s good signs. Of the newbies: Lindsay very good, Sharp ok but small and doesn’t seem to have a long kick, Henderson same. Jefferson class but needs more aggression, Johnson good aggression but needs more class. Langford hard to say. I’d say Sharp and Henderson are behind Kozz and Spargo when they come back but it’s only week 1. I didn’t see as much as I wanted from Oliver, tore the Roos a new one in the praccy but didn’t set the world on fire this week. Giants have a lot of big bodies in the mids so it’s a tough contest. Annoying to lose but could’ve easily won it and if we were no good they would’ve toweled us. 7/10

You’d think so but I doubt that will be the takeaway by many.. Time for change, seems like the reviews are doing what they said on the box. Never met Pert, seemed like a salesman at heart which has pros and cons. Seems to have outlasted his welcome at 2 clubs but it has to be acknowledged that he also saw a flag at both those clubs so I doubt he’s the chaos agent some on here paint him out to be.
