NON-MFC: Round 11
It also doesnāt even make sense, if Gus was never coming back then what? We delist him? He had a contract.

NON-MFC: Round 11
He kicked 16 goals in 2021, Spargo kicked 18. Itād be nice to have him but he was never gonna stay.

Footy Mullets
With you on Viney and Fullarton, if Sparrow is in the youād have to include Sestan. Brown is definitely a mullet

NON-MFC: Round 11
Caleb Daniel, such a good kick and only 27yo. If only he wasnāt 5ā7ā he'd be worth chasing given Bevo doesnāt rate him but imo weāre already overweight in sub-6 footers

Footy Mullets
I like it. Better than another half dozen āhereās why X canāt win the flagā or āevery team in the league is vying to sign 32yo cooked player on long term deal, sources (his agent) sayā articles..

NON-MFC: Round 11
Painful result for them if it keeps going like this, looked like beating the top team, cop a bunch of injuries including maybe a knee to a bloke youāre paying over a mil for the next 8 years and now it looks like they could get blown away

Game plans, tactics and all that jazz
https://theshinboner.com/2024/05/22/the-unique-part-of-james-jordons-role-tag-on-sam-walsh-from-the-notebook-round-10-2024/?amp=1 This might trigger some people but interesting piece here on JJ tagging from half forward. Not something we do to the same degree but we do get a half forward up to stoppage to free up Trac. Rickyās blog has some good stuff, though as the name will tell you itās pretty Norf focused

The Narrm Curse
If Perty does happen to be reading I prefer the jumper without the little MFC badge under the Zurich ad so if we can get rid of it that would be good. Seems like our win/loss ratio is worse since we put it on there too. No issues being narrm for a couple of weeks..

2024 Game Style
He wasnāt cooked in 2022, he started 2023 with two bags of 4 goals, then had 1 goal against the swans when he got hurt

Our Best Kick Inside 50
This is best kick into 50, as measured by % retention - Nibblaās had 20 kicks into the 50, 65% were retained by us (not turned over).

PREGAME: Rd 11 vs St. Kilda
This is almost a bigger frustration for me than the lack of a second flag (ok itās not almost but it is a big frustration). I really feel like I shouldāve enjoyed the past 3 years more than I did. Iām sure Hawks fans in the early 2010s, Geelong fans over the past far too long, Tigers fans up to 2020 mustāve had a more fun time than we have over our period of dominance. I canāt work out if itās the game style stifling a talented list or the game style is keeping a so-so list at the top of the ladder but I wouldāve expected if we had 3 years in the top 4 that I could roll up to the G and see us dismantle teams and stomp on their bleeding bodies but it hasnāt felt like that at any point really, except the finals which I saw on TV - the ones I saw live felt like I was having my body stomped.

Point out whatever you like, I donāt even know what your second sentence means tbh

PREGAME: Rd 11 vs St. Kilda
Itās nice in theory, but weāve held similar theories the past 2 years when things have looked wobbly mid-year. Weāre scoring less than the last three years, taking less marks i50, opponents are scoring about the same but taking more marks i50 (which will get worse over the next month without Lever) and for the first time in 4 years weāre losing i50s which with our forward line conversion isnāt great. Now trying the same thing over and over and getting the same result is not recommended so I acknowledge Goody and co are trying some different things, that might have us flying by September but Iām really only going to believe that when I see it. On the plus side weāre 6-4, we were 7-4 last year and turned that into 16-7 so all is not lost but we need to start winning imminently. 2-1 from the next 3 is required, no single game is a litmus test as you point out on the pod but 7-6 puts the double chance out of reach I would think.

Fair point

Luke Parker Strike in the VFL
Smith not guilty of face to elbow contact, it was a head clash

Luke Parker Strike in the VFL
He didnāt do that, it was a clash of heads that caused the damage. It was a regulation hip & shoulder except the guy didnāt see it coming and got ragdolled because he wasnāt ready for contact. Parkerās evidence was in line with how I saw it, and the tribunal didnāt disagree, but as heās caused damage he gets a long holiday. Thatās fine I guess but apply that interpretation consistently. I seem to remember an incident in the finals last year where causing damage didnāt matter if you didnāt mean to do it, all of a sudden it does again. Swans also tried the good guy discount of only 1 suspension in over 200 games but the tribunal noted heād been fined 9 times so threw that out too. Fines didnāt count when Cameron tipped Lever on his head so who knows what the rule is there. Overall he was always going to go, I tipped 4-5, he got 6 so be it but some consistency would be nice.

The road to Top 4
Brisbane used pick 2 on the Schac-attack in that same draft - everyone makes mistakes. Both have all the physical attributes, just havenāt gone on with it.

Luke Parker Strike in the VFL
A couple of frames before the bump, ball is about 3m from Parker, heās seen the bloke coming and heās decided to put a block on. One frame before the bump, ball is still in the area, max 10m from Parker, in front of the umpires knee in the picture. What I donāt get is how that bloke is not expecting contact here? Parker is stationary between him and the ball/players contesting the ball and he just does not see Parker at all. Now I get Parker is liable here, heās elected to bump, whatever damage is on him and heāll get 4-5, but I think his mistake is due to him not being used to playing lower level footy. Thereās no way an AFL player in that scenario doesnāt see him, they would either meet him with their shoulder or take a step and try and go around him. Itās pretty standard if the balls gone past you and you arenāt in a position to get after it you block an opponent, itās gone wrong here and heāll get weeks but thatās based on the unfortunate outcome, not any outrageous action by Parker - heās stationary when the impact happens bracing for contact against a taller opponent who flat out has not seen him.
