  1. Goodwin overall % 2013-24 57.10% behind of the current coaches: McRae 68.92 (only 2 years), C Scott 68.32, Longmire 62.99, Hinkley 60.29, Kingsley 60.00 (1 and a bit years), Fagan 57.80% Goodwin finals % 50.00% Behind Mitchell 100 (1 final), McRae 66.67, Hardwick 62.50, Clarkson 61.54, Simpson 58.33, Beveridge 53.85 Equal with Longmire, Kingsley, Longmuir, B Scott, Voss 50% Ahead of C Scott 48.28, Fagan 46.15, Lyon 45.24, Hinkley 38.46 Record stacks up, we weren’t far off in 2023. This year was a downer for a number of reasons but we reset and go again with some tweaks to the coaching structure, some trades and pick 5, some fresher players. And not least importantly, the Robbo the slob doesn’t get to pick when we change coaches, he can get stuffed.
  2. Perhaps you just made that fantasy up? Don’t be obtuse, just because the 3 of them are doing the review doesn’t mean they are joined together like Siamese triplets for the whole time.
  3. You can be such a bore… yeah?
  4. There are independent eyes, but there are also people who are responsible and accountable for running the club. Complete independence is also complete lack of accountability. I do understand the word external. And hypothetically if the Bombers go another 20 years without winning a final what happens to McCartney, Lewis and EY? Zip. Green and Pert are responsible for running the club, the buck stops with them. If improvement doesn’t come they will be out.
  5. President and CEO doing their jobs and reviewing the operations of the club they manage, with external advice from selected experts in the field. Seems pretty reasonable to me. Alternatively don’t have a review at all, just ask you as you seem to know it all already..
  6. If anyone knows how to stop our run of straight sets finals exits… it ain’t Ken! No thanks.
  7. Now now, don’t go thinking about these things in a sensible way, demonlanders want blood and lots of it no matter how counter productive
  8. Wtf are you talking about? Did you read the post?
  9. I don’t think 200 games with the aints qualifies him to conduct an external review of our club
  10. Not going to leap to their defence, but I’d suggest if you want to give them a piece of your mind get down to the AGM and give em hell. Cancelling the membership is a very indirect and ineffective way to communicate a specific grievance with how the club is run but very effective at harming the club.
  11. I’m certain they know things aren’t great. But every member we get proves our value to sponsors, and provides weight when talking to the afl about fixturing and all other matters. Missing finals will already have an impact but those of us than can afford to stick fat should do so for the longer term good of the club.
  12. Best of luck HT. As I said above I don’t begrudge anyone who has to make choices to balance the books. No shame in downgrading to an armchair/3-game membership either though if you can stretch things to that.
  13. Write them an email, send them a lette, start a petition, mount a board challenge (just don’t take the club to court ffs). Do what you like but costing the club financially is counterproductive and will not result in greater success in any way. Yes. So what? Should I laugh and celebrate my own clubs troubles?
  14. Anyone not renewing because they’re unhappy with board or management or a particular player is weak as [censored]. Financial reasons I can understand (although I would suggest downgrading to cheaper options rather than cancelling) but punishing the club as a [censored] protest against any individual(s) is childish and self-defeating.
  15. And if someone hadn’t left Blake Acres on his own in the goal square with a minute to go in last years semi we’d be above 70k, that wasn’t the boards fault..
  16. If we want a hard headed ex-player to lead us out of this mess, let’s go hard header-ed than Gaz..
  17. This is it. I’m as flat as anyone that we haven’t got there for a second flag on the G but the drama on here is overblown. They’re hard to win.
  18. My point is people seem to think we’re in some unprecedented dive towards folding the club. We’re not even losing as many players as the Tigers are (after Dimma bailed on everyone for a better deal) and we’re starting from a stronger position. It’s obviously not ideal but the only confirmed out is ANB, and Trac seemingly if a deal can be done. The club will be fully operational in 2025.
  19. It is happening to another club, Richmond is haemorrhaging players on an hourly basis. They won 2 games! Where the 24/7 watch on tiger land?
  20. Well sure but they’re in charge.. My point was more that if they don’t trust themselves to make the decisions they should go, no indications so far that they don’t. Whether demonlanders want an external review right now or not is a bit irrelevant because it’s not up to us.
  21. Thats Richo’s job, and Pert’s job and they then report to the board. An external review is not some magic spell where a kindly football wizard comes in and says “you need to do x, y and z” and then you do that and you win a flag next year. An external review involves a whole bunch of meetings (which takes time away from doing actual work the footy department should be doing between now and November) and then they go away and then they put together a PowerPoint (based on previously prepared template) and you get the PowerPoint and an invoice for $100k and they disappear and the same people (Pert, Richie, Board) make the actual decisions and are actually accountable and the consultants are off drinking cocktails and never have to worry about whether anything in the PowerPoint makes any difference to anything. Its useful if a) the board want to make certain decisions but want to shift the blame to the consultants or b) the people internally have NFI what to do in which case they’re better off just getting out of the way and letting someone else do it.
  22. Me. Demonland. I have once again renewed my interest in Margo Robbie. No suggestion at this stage Margot is considering leaving her film producer husband for some weirdo on a footy forum, just that the interest has again been made clear.
  23. Well that’s probably not unreasonable, everyone else on here seems to want the whole place cleaned out from the board to the bootstudder which I don’t think is helpful. I think we have to keep Goodwin for at least another year. The back end of 2021 is the best football I’ve seen us play in my life. We’ve been exciting before, we’ve scored heavily before but that finals series was something else. I don’t think he’s had a clear run at it since, and while we’re all flat about the straight sets we weren’t far off. This year has been no good but we make some changes, see what we can get in the trade (despite CP5 tanking our brand) and draft and go again. I don’t see any better alternatives out there - west coast can’t even find anyone to apply for their job.
  24. Why would you add in depth like Tomlinson though? He’s not best 22 and has no contract which is why he’s going. He’s hardly Shai Bolton. Brayshaw would give his left agate to be still playing for us. Can’t blame the club that he’s not. Smith made his own mistake. It’s not a tigers situation at all.
  25. Hence why I said “changes to be made no doubt” which you seem to have quoted but not quite grasped.
