  1. That's not correct. Casey are playing Footscray at Box Hill Oval on Saturday at noon. Collingwood are playing Williamstown on Saturday at 3pm. Anyone in the frame for the QF the following Thursday is unlikely to play or if they do it will be limited minutes.
  2. I find it's generally better to save my froth for things that actually happen.
  3. Thursday is less time for Moore and Daicos to get up too. That's also a win.
  4. We've got plenty of time to prepare for the match it's hardly a short break. As some have posted, if we don't win it's better that we have more time to prepare for the SF than our opposition. If we lose we'll get the Friday SF then then a Saturday PF. Two 8 day breaks. If we win - flag in the bag baby!
  5. They've got both Moore and Murphy to come back into that backline. I'm not sure Howe plays back there. They might even prefer Markov. They've actually got a selection squeeze especially if they do go with Cox and Cameron which looks likely. Maybe Howe back and Markov sub but that still leaves 3 marking forwards.
  6. De Goey is a very good player but he's not in Petracca's class. @DeeSpencer is making claims about how we weren't impressive against Sydney and we should be worried about De Goey and Pendlebury. Yeah they're very good. But they should be [censored] themselves about Petracca, Oliver and Viney. Who would you rather have?
  7. McStay, Cox/Cameron, Mihocek and probably Howe?
  8. Seriously De Goey isn't fit to lick Petracca boots. You know the guy that broke the game open today and the 2021 GF.
  9. Gulden was tremendous but Hunter and Langdon were also very effective and important to our win. They aren't playing a negative role specifically on Gulden. Note that for all his efforts his team his team was comprehensively beaten with everything to play for on their home deck. It's about the big picture.
  10. Hunter and Lingers on the wings were relentless - 92% and 94% game-time. They were everywhere.
  11. Grundy great goal from the ruck contest in the goal-square. Interesting to see Blake Howes as runner
  12. You don't need a medical reason to deploy the sub this year.
  13. That FA age bracket starts next year with 26yos then.
  14. Half true. We had a week off before we played WC at Waverley in the SF due to their draw with Collingwood in the QF in week one and their replay. We should have beaten WC, we let a golden opportunity slip that year.
  15. Just own it.
  16. Simpler just to trade with North direct
  17. Bailey Laurie pictured in Sydney on melbournefc Instagram - sub?
  18. No guarantee WC gets Curtin with 4 or 5 though
  19. 2 + 16 for 1? WC get Curtin and a bonus 1st rounder (Port's)
  20. West Coast and North winning in consecutive weeks doesn't bode well for the vital signs of tanking ... We tanked too obviously and I admit I was in favour of it but I was wrong, it was bad cultural practice and teams have learned from that.
  21. Certainly a possibility. And we would have had access to him in the Jackson trade so it appears we didn't rate him sufficiently. We might have dodged a bullet and avoided diluting the lucrative Freo draft haul there. Matt Flynn is UFA this year ...
  22. Who exactly would you have recruited last year who could have capably rucked while Max was injured this year and rucked 50:50 in 14 games enabling Max to hit this time of year in full fitness compared to last year when he was broken? You provided an example of someone who wasn't available - that's not too hard to do.
  23. Kieren Briggs signed a 2 year contract at GWS at the end of 2022, he wasn't available to us last year. https://www.zerohanger.com/giants-ruckman-kieren-briggs-re-signs-126716/
  24. Except he's not in the 26 so it's going to be tricky for him. @Demonstone miles ahead of me ...
  25. I think we can find out what TMac offers at Casey. It's about his mobility and ability to jump. We know what he can do at AFL level if these are up to scratch. We also know what Tomlinson gives at AFL level and it's not ideal. Now is the time to see if D.Turner can give more, we can't find that out playing him more at Casey. We need to see him at AFL level. We're going for a tall Fritsch for a small Laurie - so the sub will be a small.
