  1. I think with where our list is at and the likely early picks we get from Freo this year it would NOT be a good idea to target the Tasmanians, however talented. We'll need already established young stars to replace Petracca (who will be 32) and Oliver (who will turn 31) in 2028, not more fresh draftees in the 2027 crop. It'd be like 2019 draftees, like Serong, Anderson, Tom Green or Kossie, leaving at the end of this year just when they're really reaching their potential. We'll need players like that already primed to take over from Trac and Oliver if we want to continue at the top.
  2. Yes great in theory, but the big problem is that Max himself has declared that the Gawndy project has to work. He said exactly that in his post match with Abbie Holmes. He was a key driver of Brodie's acquisition. Max can't shoulder primary ruck duties week in - week out any more. The reason he was able to dominate against Brisbane is because Brodie has been giving him relief over the season. There's 9 or 10 more games to go, Max needs Brodie to play. I think the FD probably think that the Max, BBB and Brodie combination too easily exposed at ground level defensively, especially with Melky in Fritsch's role and Kossie playing higher, which he did effectively against Brisbane. The probable preferred solution is Brodie for BBB while retaining JVR. Brodie needs to be able to provide what BBB currently does in the air, he'll be better than BBB at ground level.
  3. Melksham plays a very difficult role. If he didn't go missing occasionally he'd be Toby Greene and lauded for his incredible skills.
  4. Expected Score @WheeloRatings or have I missed it embedded in there again? I suspect we lost on that?
  5. Yes but he can't do it for 25 games a year now.
  6. Max can't play like he did last night all year anymore. We need a quality ruck tandem. It's not ideal but real quality forward/rucks are very rare.
  7. Interesting that, as Fagan said, we tagged Neale. Pretty effective too.
  8. We need the 3 tall backs set up. Tomlinson for Petty, not Hibberd who may need to play VFL. Agree Joel for sub. Ben Brown was very good early and almost good late when he very nearly clunked a few. Grundy is ultimately a possible replacement, I think he can learn and adapt at VFL level. I'm not against this idea and I think Max needs ruck support to go the whole journey. That said, I thought JVR was very competitive last night. Maybe Chandler for Spargo, but it's not going to make a major difference. Two weeks in a row we're facing the two top scoring teams. Crows can score fast, hopefully we have "learnings" for the middle part of the match vs Brisbane.
  9. Brisbane are a very good team who are going to get momentum at times. We're not outstanding, we're in the mix at the top with them, Collingwood and Port. Expecting perfection is a unreasonable.
  10. It will definitely be interesting to see how many minutes Brodie plays forward for Casey and how many minutes he rucks.
  11. Schache and Dunstan in, Jordon out. Consider a stand-up comedy career.
  12. Where is Cal Twomey, does anyone know? He has missed the last two Gettable episodes.
  13. Hard to believe you missed the 2021 Grand Final Jimmy.
  14. Thanks for this @WheeloRatings. I've been away so have been on my mobile and now back on desktop so can have a better look. Can you please give me the key green/grey/purple and diamond/circle.
  15. Great stuff @Deelightful Dee, more please :) So it's two wins we should have had: Fremantle and GWS vs two losses we should have had: Richmond and St.Kilda. We've had some matches where we should have won by more: Carlton and Collingwood, but more games where we won by more than expected: Sydney, West Coast, North and Hawthorn. We were also fortunate against Port to be so close. Probably overall our W-L and % reflects our performance so far.
  16. "I'll be happy when ..." - just a tip from an old campaigner: "when" never comes.
  17. You ain't seen nothing yet ...
  18. Nope, you're catastrophising. Relax a little.
  19. Once upon a time yes, but I think those days are past. Did you see Rohan smoke May in that groundswell contest?
  20. Hardwick can institute "the Gold Coast man" culture.
  21. You mean like 63 points over the Eagles, 90 over North and 58 over Hawthorn? Ah, the facts thing ...
  22. No team played 23 H&A matches since 2012 either
