  1. Trade, Draft and Free Agency board is your friend for this information.
  2. Swap Papley for Campbell and I'd do that deal if I was Carlton.
  3. I appreciate your point Sue. I think the benefit, at least to me, of search, maps and translate outweigh the downside. Instagram is a bit of fun. Anyway back to Trac and Clarrie. Anyone is tradable for the right price. I don't think we can get value out of a Clarrie trade in salray cap relief or picks so unless he's disruptive to culture I'd keep him. I'd prefer to retain Trac too, but a trade for him could deliver value so I'd be open to that if it clearly benefitted the club.
  4. Google built search to make money Sue. I think there's a lot of hysteria about the "algorithm". It knows what I'm interested in so it serves me content about footy, skiing, surfing, wine etc and Ads relating to those areas, often about products I haven't heard about and that I have gone on to buy and enjoy. I generally don't get content I'm not interested in and if I do I skip it and the algorithm realises I'm not intetested. The only annoying thing about the advertising is when I research something and make a purchase, the Ads for products in that area keep coming for some time. A way to say "i already got one" would be nice. The problem is not social media and the algorithm, it's stupid people.
  5. Social media platforms have always been commercial ventures, they were never public services. Ways have been found to monetise them and that was always the plan. They haven't been "hijacked".
  6. Who is saying no compensation for SOS?
  7. Clubs do get compensation for Unrestricted FA based on their age and contract at the new club. The restriction is only that clubs cannot match to force a trade. See last year: ESPN.comSaints, GWS reap first-round compensation picksThe AFL was in a generous mood on the opening day of free agency, with St Kilda receiving a prized first-round draft pick for losing Josh Battle, and GWS also reaping big rewards.
  8. It's good management to re-contract TMac and Melksham now. They're loyal servants and they are having their exit interviews this week. It's a bit rude to say "go on holidays with the family but work hard and come back ready for pre-season and we'll think about it then".
  9. McVee is a very good player, defensive and attacking. Hopefully we can retain him. People lament losing Jordon and Bedford, McVee is a better player than either of them.
  10. Or maybe it unlocks our ability to trade other players. No surprise you find a negative everywhere.
  11. Petracca hasn’t played mainly forward until late this season. To be successful he'd need to present a marking threat like Rayner and he's not able to do that currently. I'd seriously consider a trade to Hawthorn if we could get Carlton's first rounder and a player.
  12. Yeah no-one is going to take on his full salary. He might agree to a big cut to move and we might get full relief that way. Better to keep the devil we know IMO.
  13. We'd only get partial salary cap relief and/or an ordinary pick for Clarrie and therefore we'd only be able to convert that into an ordinary player. I'd keep Clarrie unless he's disruptive to culture.
  14. One problem is that Petracca is no longer a marking threat forward for totally understandable reasons so his value playing forward is diminished, particularly since his kicking has also gone off.
  15. Yes I agree, we're 4-11 in 2024-25 in games decided by 12 points or less. Change has been made, we'll have a new coach who can hopefully address this. I wouldn't be throwing out the players before we explore whether they can fix this with the right directions. It's why we "need a new voice".
  16. Worth repeating.
  17. Buckley would be mad to go to Tasmania. No inaugral coach of a relocated or expansion team has had a winning record and only one took a team to a final and they lost that. Inaugral coach is marketing cannon fodder.
  18. I think we need to move on from Simon Goodwin but that's not going to happen with placeholder President and CEO, and Alan Richardson as GM of Football on borrowed time. Goodwin will coach us in 2026 and IMO that's OK because he seems a well-liked, good character who has recognised that we need to evolve and has started the wheels in motion, so I think we not in a poisonous state that needs a fast antidote. Carlton has done MFC management a huge favour by absorbing all the media spotlight. - we're in a very similar position to them. Steven Smith and Paul Guerra need to be working in the background to find Richo's replacement so that the three of them can start to make a proper assessment of the state of affairs and Goodwin's future. It may be that they decide he IS the guy to go forward with, I doubt it but I don't really know. I think his strength is his weakness - he's possibly too wedded to senior players who took us there in 2021.

I was particularly alarmed at their demand: "On Friday, please visit the Ticketek windows at Gate 3B box office (to the left of Gate 3) with children present to unblock the barcodes or to have your tickets upgraded to a Concession or Adult ticket if a Child ticket has been purchased incorrectly. This box office will be open from 11:30am." Was wondering why I needed to go on Friday and where I could get the children from.
  22. I booked a ticket for KB through Ticketek. I received the following email from Ticketek today. Note that I have never "purchased multiple Children Under 5 tickets". Maybe some others are having the same experience, the solution appears below ... "Dear Ticket Holder, We look forward to welcoming you to the MCG for the Toyota AFL Premiership Season match between Melbourne and Collingwood on Monday 9 June 2025. Your account has been flagged as having purchased multiple Children Under 5 tickets without an accompanying Adult ticket. The MCC, as ground manager of the MCG, is strongly committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people within the stadium. As a result, your ticket barcodes have been blocked for this match. On Friday, please visit the Ticketek windows at Gate 3B box office (to the left of Gate 3) with children present to unblock the barcodes or to have your tickets upgraded to a Concession or Adult ticket if a Child ticket has been purchased incorrectly. This box office will be open from 11:30am. Please note as we are expecting a large crowd for this match, please arrive early and leave plenty of time for the entry process. Regards, Ticketek Team" Ticketek are difficult to contact. I called their help number but the recorded message said "operators are busy, thanks for your patience" and hung up on me. So I filled in their online form and surprisingly they responded promptly via email: "Hi The MCG and AFL have advised that this email was sent out to all customers in error instead of only those who are impacted An updated email will be sent confirming this information in the coming hours You will not need to visit the box office on the day and can scan in your tickets as they are. We apologize for any inconvenience Regards, Customer Solutions"

Petty, JVR and Fritsch is a decent tall forward combination and I think Jefferson could play a role with Petty and JVR as partners taking the key backs. We need to be continuing to pursue Wade Derksen at GWS who looks like he's having a good VFL year and is held out of the seniors by Taylor and Buckley. Lever, Turner, Derksen and Adams is a possible KB solution set. Jackson is the only one I'm interested in, he solves the Max succession nicely and can function well in the transition. I can't see how we can get him without losing some other high value players. Kossie for Jackson doesn't improve us overall. I'd rather have Kossie and a workmanlike ruck.
  25. The other thing to add about Spargo's game is that he regularly blocked Kossie’s opponent at forward 50 stoppages which was influential.
