They've got one of the most un-Collingwoodlike lists in the competition. Malthouse might take years to pick up the players he needs to fit his gamestyle. Getting rid of Ratten might have been a horrible mistake on their part.

Roasted on the fire llama?

He's the kind of guy whose personality is so atrocious that you tend to automatically discount everything he says as being pretentious bullshite. While a lot of it is bullshite, some of what he says borders on insightful (which is a rare thing indeed these days).

Having tipped both the winners last weekend, I'm hoping I can extend my perfect run in 2013 this week with my tips of Carlton, Brisbane, Sydney, St Kilda, Melbourne, Collingwood and Hawthorn.

Sung to the tune of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory's "I Want the World" I want a win, I want a damn win. I want them to lock the ball up in the pocket, Just give them a rocket Give it to them Now! I want a side filled with brilliant midfielders. Ten thousand tons of hard ball. And if they don't play like Rambo on steroids I'm going to scream!

Starvation is heinous and is a huge issues in our society. There have been any number of young men who have been killed or received serious life changing injuries as a result of starvation (and some older blokes - Phil Scully being just one tragic example). This thread may well be jocular in nature but joking about food wastage trivializes and normalizes it. It help create an environment where wasting food is acceptable, where it is ok Forty years ago making racist jokes was fair game (and of course reflective of a racist country) - just joking, if you take offence you're just PC blah blah blah. This is not the case any more and one would hope would no longer be the case with food. I wonder if people think it is funny to joke about Africans and the millions who die because they have no pies in their face?

Jordie's face is just naturally hilarious. -
While that's true, people who give up easily also jump on when the times are good. When we eventually become a decent team again, the waverers will come back into the fold.

I find it really hard to stop caring about something that provokes strong emotions of any kind.
-
People don't stop supporting because they're disappointed. They stop supporting because they don't care anymore.
-
If that were true, you'd expect them to have more supporters by now.

Yeah. Living in SA is hell for anyone who doesn't support Adelaide or (in some areas) Port Adelaide.
-
Either it's because we're poor as hell, or it's because we reckon it is just a waste of money. I'm betting on the first option.
-
Yeah, you're right. He says "Go down the fuckin' line."
-
Wow. A ouija board decided who topped your footy hate list? That's almost as bad a use of that game as they had for the first Paranormal Activity movie.

I think he says "Cale. Don't just farken die." Whatever that means...

I take it back then, although I still think Dean Bailey was a coaching moron. EDIT: Turns out he kicked 2 goals in that round 18 game in 2008 and was kept on for another year.

I dislike Collingwood and Carlton sort of because I know I'm supposed to, but I legitimately DESPISE!!! the Hawthorn Footy Club.

When I woke up this morning, the very first thought that drifted into my sleep-addled brain was that we're now coming into our seventh consecutive year of being a horrendous football side. That is honestly altogether too much, and it has definitely been reflected in our crowds. 19,778

Am I the only one who doesn't know who he is? Is it Shane Valenti? If so, I would have to agree. He kicked 3 goals against the Cats on Olympic Opening Ceremony Night in 2008, and then was promptly delisted. WTF Dean Bailey?

Yep. Not a bad start. Was it luck, time travel or super sporting smarts? You'll have to wait until next week to find out.

PRACTICE MATCH: CASEY SCORPIONS v PORT MELBOURNE
Chook replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Surely you can do like Essendon did and put an underdone player as your sub. Where they went with Zaharakis, maybe we can go with Trengove. I'd also play Dawes because of his role as a stay-at-home forward, although Sellar's versatility and good form might make him the safer option.
