  1. After the NAB Cup, if you said to me Melbourne and the Dogs would be level on wins after round 6, I would've called the police.
  2. Hope he hasn't played his last game for the MFC.
  3. A 108 pt loss is to be expected against Geelong. No great shock and the Dees also put in some stinkers in 2008 as documented in the thread.
  4. Remember that game well as it was the second last game I went to before moving overseas. That was one horrible game against the Saints. It took Yze to kick 3 goals in the last qtr to save us from a 100pt loss. Funnily enough I will be back in Melbourne just in time to see St Kilda V Melbourne in round 14 this year...hopefully we put in a better performance.
  5. They have been an average side Rhino. They've made a habit of beating up on crap sides and then falling way short in September - that is a defintion of an average side. Plus a 2-3 record coming into this week suggests they're a middle of the road team. The thing I'm [censored] off with is why we always bring our C- game against North. We have been respectable (under Bailey) at least once against every team except for North. Care to explain our pathetic 7 game loss streak to them? As for the future, why do people automatically assume we have a brighter future than North?
  6. What makes you say North aren't going places?
  7. The only positive out of today is that people around here will stop talking about finals and even top 4.
  8. Green 6 Grimes 5 McDonald 4 Dunn 3 Bruce 2 Davey 1
  9. It's not as if they've been falling over the line. This mob have been smashing us by an average of 6 goals each match. Any ideas? - Is is their 3 ruckman combo? - Is it Etihad? - Do they raise an extra gear exclusively against Melbourne? (ala Hawthorn in round 1) - Is it matchups? Why does an average club have such a dominance over us? As I mentioned before we've put up better performances against Geelong, W Bulldogs and St Kilda over the last 18 months, than we have against North.
  10. Watching the replay I didn't hear much booing from the crowd...just a few here and there. Nothing like the Woewodin fiasco of 2003. The crowd should be encouraged to go nuts at McLean.
  11. Yeah this could be a possible ladder at the end of the round: Brisbane 5-1 Geelong 4-2 Sydney 4-2 St Kilda 4-2 Collingwood 4-2 Carlton 4-2 Fremantle 4-2 W Bulldogs 4-2 ------------------- Melbourne 4-2 Port Adelaide 4-2
  12. Random thought of the day: If we win, Western Bulldogs beat St kilda, Carlton beat Collingwood and Brisbane beat Sydney, then we'll still be out of the 8 despite us being 4-2.
  13. Maybe if North didn't extract every bit of mediocre talent they had and finish 7th-10 every year (only to bomb out in September), then they may have been lucky with draft picks as well. As for the bloke that predicted 35K to 40K this week with the possibility of 50K- tell him his dreaming! 27K at the most.
  14. I'm tipping 25K at this one.
  15. I'm about as confident winning this game as I was before the Collingwood game. For some reason, we always bring out the best in North Melbourne, and they bring out the worst in us. How the hell can a mediocre ruckman in Todd Goldstein kick 5 goals against us in a game?? How the hell can North go on a 9 game losing streak and then beat us by 10 goals late last year. They have made us look inept since 2007 and have been even harder to beat than Geelong. Would really like to see the trend change on Saturday and I'm interested to see how we perform away from the G. I think we might have a slip up this week. I believe recent history is always a good form guide in predicting a winner. We have no form against North and we have no form away from the MCG
  16. Congrats to the MFC on a fantastic win!! The game finished at 4:50am Seattle time, so you could imagine it was great news to wake up to! On topic, North will be a danger game. We're hopeless at Etihad and we're even more hopeless against North - smashed in our last 5 games by them. A win would be another step forward, despite North being a poor side todate.
  17. In a way I agree with you Dan, it would be preferred to win against top teams who are full strength. On the other hand, we're owed a bit of a luck don't you think?
  18. That has to be a positive, in that we haven't seen the best of Davey yet.
  19. I'd take the footballer over the athlete.
  20. Don't like the idea of seeing Melbourne play only 11 or 12 times a year in Melbourne (as we'd probably play 5 or 6 interstate games). 24 rounds sounds good to me.
  21. Was that the infamous 1 possession game against North in 2004?
  22. Being in the USA I do not have access to anything relating to the bigpond website and therefore cannot view the song. I would be most grateful if somebody who reads this thread could put this link on youtube. Many thanks guys!
  23. I will personally pay the Gold Coast a portion of Miller's salary if it means they keep their hands off our young talent.
  24. Was his report serious? Is he likely to be suspended for 2 or 3 weeks?
  25. Other common shockers on this forum: Maloney Bartrum Bates Dunne Davies
