  1. I actually wouldn't mind Bulldogs beating GWS tomorrow night and then winning their remaining games. If they did and we snuck into 8th, the final 8 could look like this: Adelaide Richmond GWS Bulldogs Geelong Port Adel Sydney Melbourne Week 1 - Geelong V Melbourne, MCG (It won't be at Simmonds IMO) Week 2 - Bulldogs V Melbourne, MCG Week 3 - Richmond V Melbourn, MCG Week 4 - Adelaide V Melbourne, MCG Sounds good, right?
  2. Careful what you say about him. He can be on one leg and he'd still destroy us.
  3. I hope you're right, but this kind of strategy is usually reserved for teams that have won 4 out of the last 7 flags and make September every year without fail. Don't think we're quite at that level yet.
  4. A draw this week to St Kilda is effectively a win... assuming we win our last 2. Unless the Dons shock Adelaide, the most they can finish with is 12-10. We'd be 12-9-1 in the above scenario.
  5. In - Brayshaw, Hannan, Weideman Out - Salem, Pedersen, Harmes or Maynard Salem needs to go back to Casey to work on his competitiveness and ability to win a hard ball. He's a protected species around here and has had more ordinary games than good ones this year. An over-rated pick 9 who has a nice left shoe. If Weed fails this week, then perhaps we close the season with a smaller fwd line. Pedo is once again out of form and probably won't be seen again this year.
  6. Yeah I was happy he copped a week for his hit on Gawn until I realised who GWS's opponent is next week.
  7. Salem should be dropped. Not rested or injured.
  8. I reckon Salem's gone under the radar in terms of omissions. He was p weak in one on one ground and marking contests yesterday and that was before he got injured. Hasnt been good since his return to injury.
  9. Jeffy had a big day out with 3 touches and no score.
  10. A Sydney win essentially rules us out of a top 6/home final chance right? Unless we win all remaining games.
  11. So they're missing Cameron (42 goals), Patton (36) and Greene (33). Interestingly, Patton and Cameron were also missing the last time we played them and won, while Greene hadn't reached star status yet.
  12. A pity for JFK that he copped the bullet this week. Thought his 3 week stint (Rd 17-19) this time around was far better than his previous stint (Rd 5-7). At the end of the day I guess he's not quite good enough.
  13. Mark Stevens saying there's a rumour of hamstring concerns for Patton. He's been named so I suspect they'll give him to the morning of the game. Most rumours sorrounding late outs don't come to fruition so I'm planning on him playing.
  14. Agreed. David King took over the Ox (while on holidays) on the run home and was so much better.
  15. If he has another poor game then drop him. His 2 return games have been disgusting and the 'returning from injury' excuse card expires on Saturday.
  16. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-08-02/how-do-the-dees-replace-hogan Guthrie thinks Weed will get the nod over Pedo while Maynard is firming for a debut. IN - Weed, Maynard, Jones, Vince Out - Hogan, Trengove, JFK, Hannan (rested)
  17. Well Carlton were willing to offer JFK a 3 year contract either last year or the year before, so perhaps Carlton will eventually get their man.
  18. Could Dom Tyson be in the mix here? Crows need more midfield options - albeit one that doesn't turn the ball over as much. And as others have mentioned, ANB could be a sweetener to a first round draft pick. Has he even signed for us next year?
  19. Yes, I remember Ben Newton kicking a goal at the 27:50 minute mark of the second quarter to put us up 7.3.45 to 1.6.12. There after it was one of Melbourne's finest collapses of recent years. Let's hope we put in a much improved performance up there this time around.
  20. At least Max found the injury funny...
  21. Tommy Mac put us 1 point up at the 15 minute mark.
  22. The positive is that we won the last quarter.
  23. Just wanted to echo other people's opinions about Blundstone arena. It's an absolute dump of a ground by AFL standards. A glorified bush league venue. The lines about 30 metres to take a slash. Don't even think about getting a beer or something to eat until about the 20 minute mark of each quarter. The wind spoils what could've been a good game of footy. And credit to North, they use the conditions to their advantage and. It's a genuine home ground advantage as evidenced by a 10 goal win over this year's likely premiers. I'm going to be livid if the AFL schedule us down there a 3rd year in a row. I hope we're not requesting to play down there. As for the performance, I thought ANB, Watts, Petracca and Hannan in particular were a disgrace.
  24. Massive result for us! Sydney have Geelong and Adelaide both on the road which they'll start under Dogs in. Therefore they could quite easily finish 12-10 and either sneak into or just miss finals. We go 3-2 from here and could very well finish above Sydney and avoid the SCG in finals! ( not hatching my chickens that we'll def making finals but the balls in our court)
  25. I'm hoping St Kilda beat Port. If we can somehow win this week we'll go ahead of Port and hopefully stay ahead of them for the rest of the year. And then somehow play Port week 1 at the MCG. (eg - 5th v 8th)
