  1. If Weightman's more of a sure bet than Pickett (even if Pickett has more upside) surely we go Weightman. We need a small forward that you can absolutely bank on kicking 30 goals a year without fail, then it sounds like Weightman is the man.
  2. They will if they play an interstate side at the G.
  3. I thought it would've been wise to have Collingwood host QBD again in 2020. That way in 2021 going forward we'd always have 1 home marquee game per year. With respect to the loss, we missed a massive opportunity to draw big crowds in our August MCG home games against Richmond (sat night), Collingwood (sat arvo) and Sydney (fri night). The club would've budgeted for an accumulated crowd of 150,000, but got a pathetic 90,000.
  4. Not necessarily, but it seemed like anything we did in that period turned to dust. Whether it be bad luck or bad management. The selections of Gysberts, Blease and Strauss were absolutely disastrous. Very hard to stomach considering Shuey was taken after Strauss.
  5. We’ve averaged 6.67 wins a year since 2007. I think every supporter is entitled to a little MFCSS in relation to Wednesday. Hawthorn and Collingwood built their flag on the back of one solitary draft. We spent 7 top 20 picks on Scully, Trengove, Tappscott, Gysberts, Blease, Watts and Strauss over a 2 year period.
  6. He was dead right. I think we were celebrating our 4th win that year..... in round 19.
  7. Hopefully he’s not a Jarrod Garlett/Jarrod Pickett type that was taken way too high in the draft and then out of the system 4 or 5 years later.
  8. Exactly. It’s highly unlikely Rowell and Anderson will end up being the best 2 players in the draft when we review in 10 years.
  9. If T Mac plays 20 games next year fit and healthy, we’re winning games. In 3 of our 5 unimpressive wins, he kicked 3,3 and 6 goals.
  10. I second that. The major point I took from his post was that VDB could’ve played the back end of the season if we were in contention. Hopeful signs that he’s a chance for rd 1.
  11. No thanks. Putting up with him for 2 Foxtel games a weekend is plenty sufficient.
  12. Bring back Finey’s final siren. Now that was must listen radio!
  13. Good. I'm expecting a 16.4.100 type return in round 1 V's the Eagles, as opposed to the 7.13.55 slop circa 2019. Amazing the amount of games we lost last year purely on accuracy.
  14. Anyone know what's going on with Petty? Missed the last 2 games of the season with a mystery injury and it seems as though he's been in rehab or light duties since returning.
  15. Played round 23 against North down there and looked ok with 32 touches. If he plays down back, we lose his X-factor in snagging a goal on the run from 50 or taking a big mark inside 50.
  16. If indeed he's out for weeks, At least Oliver was one of the rare surgery players from last year that went on to have a good year. Hopefully as other's have mentioned, it's just a minor thing.
  17. I recall Stafford being an excellent shot for goal during his Richmond days, and his stats back it up. During 2002 and 2003 he kicked 46.15 over two seasons as a forward/ruck hybrid. Over his career went at 69%.
  18. Calf strain should have him available for full training just in time for the xmas break.
  19. Is it too much to ask for an All Australian 40 squad?
  20. You'd think we went 17-5 last year instead of 5-17...
  21. Brown. Henderson’s a has-been. At least Brown had a 4 goal game and two 3 goal games this year.
  22. Would be staggered if he wasn’t named co-captain. For some reason I can’t see Viney doing the gig himself, even after 3 or so years at the helm. Gawn deserves to Captain this club. Hopefully his form doesn’t drop off as a result.
  23. His games against West Coast and North were outstanding and gives me hope he can cause havoc as the third forward behind T Mac and Weed/Mitch Brown next year . A very talented player is Fritsch.
  24. Ironically he looked uncomfortable when swung back to defence this year in the second Richmond and Collingwood games. Then was dropped. Has the key attributes to be a good forward as he’s very fast on the lead and can take an over head mark, and generally a good shot goal for goal (see his winning goal from 52 against Carlton). However, as other have mentioned he can go missing as a forward.
  25. I assume if we take Jackson at pick 3, Taylor (the professional recruiter as opposed to us keyboard amateurs) believes that he'll clearly end up being among the 5 best players taken in the 2019 draft after his career is done and dusted. Isn't the art of recruiting is to identify a player that has what it takes it to be a genuine AFL player down the track, not just pick a kid who dominates against other kids? That being said, it certainly appears to be a ballsy move if we pick Jackson, and Taylor would seriously need to nail at least one of pick 3 or 8.
