  1. Not that it affects most of us, but will the Melbourne V GC be played in front of a crowd? Can't imagine more than a few hundred locals that would be interested in attending the game.
  2. I actully looked at the thread title and assume we were chasing Neal for some inspiration. Daniher's a genuine gun on his day. His 2017 was excellent. We ought to go hard at Ben Brown who's currently out of form and quibbling over a contract with North.
  3. Aside from an ordinary game against Carlton, May has been rock solid this year and earning his pay packet this year. I have great confidence when he's in a genuine 1 on 1 contest. As much as I'd like our forward line to be shaken up, we shouldn't be moving our best key defender (and one of the better defenders in the league) up forward. Bring in Brown or Weideman or it's bust.
  4. “Melbourne should play a smaller forward line” - Shane Crawford, Sunday 5th July 2020.
  5. They were both cut price players in Frost and O Mac, who are both quite frankly better players than Lever, the former actually way better than Lever.
  6. Why on earth are we slight favorites to beat GC? I still think people haven't quite yet cottoned onto the fact that we're a bottom 2 or 3 side. It will happen eventually. I can't think of 1 side we're better than, aside from perhaps Adelaide who are genuinely atrocious at the moment. In - Jones, Bennell, Weideman/Brown, Jetta Out - Hunt, Rivers, Lockhart, VDB I hate that we keep rewarding Melksham with undeserved games, but hopefully next week it will click for him and he can have a productive 3 goal performance.
  7. Exactly. Round 20 last year, we were even with Richmond at half time. Then as soon the rain came down we fell to pieces and Richmond dominated. I can’t recall us winning a genuine wet weather game in years.
  8. It has something to do with the WC v ADL game starting at 3:30 so they can head home straight after, and they want a game in the 6-7:30 timeslot, before the channel seven game commences at 7:40.
  9. Any chance MFC members from non COVID hot spots can fly up and get a ticket for the GC or Hawks game? There should be 6,000 allowed to Giants Stadium and we all know there will be bugger all attending.
  10. Therein lies one of our big problems. Richmond supporters are one of the worst going around on the forums (particularly big footy) but the above comments were pretty fair and measured.
  11. No change I believe.
  12. Serious lack of integrity of selection there. He was woeful last week and totally undercooked as was evidenced by that run down tackle and subsequent holding the ball against him.
  13. All good for me. My kids demand dinner at 5:30pm so I’m set.
  14. We played Fitzroy down in North Hobart. Sadly we got done by 20 points.
  15. I wouldn’t mind Spargo making the cut just for the melts, anger, sarcasm and humour around here for tonight.
  16. Saints have been fantastic this season aside from the one game they didn’t play at Marvel. They'll be on the road for weeks so that will determine if they’re the real deal.
  17. I’d say we can thank Hawthorn for us being on FTA rather than the AFL deliberately putting us on FTA. Hopefully GC cop a belting tomorrow night, lose confidence and our game against them can be more of a 50/50 affair.
  18. What happens if there is a spike in cases in NSW over the next few weeks which wouldn’t be out of the realms of possibilities? Season surely cancelled.
  19. That’s to cater for the WC v Adelaide game which starts at 3:20pm.
  20. Each to their own. I thought Smith was good last week.
  21. Joel Smith deserved to retain his spot. Can’t remember how he went in the second half Vs Geelong but his first half was really good. His athleticism and pace to go with his opponent was evident. A massive step up from rd 2. Infact our defence of May, Lever, Smith and Hibberd functioned very well for most of the game. All things going well, Smith could potentially be a productive and versatile staple in our defence going forward.
  22. This year can go and get stuffed.
  23. Kent’s been excellent tonight. Our list management is a joke.
  24. I thought we was missed last week.
  25. Instead he plays VDB who could barley move on Sunday, had a whopping 1 kick and had the awareness of someone who'd been plucked off the street that morning and played their first ever game of football. We're losing games on Thursday nights.
