  1. Sadly you’re right. No way clubs are going to be in a position pay out coaches when this is over. Bitterly disappointing that today was essentially round 24 2019 and we’re still losing games due to horrid delivery inside 50 and woeful set shot accuracy. That’s on the coach and it’s amateur hour that he hasn’t rectified the problem that stuck out like dogs balls last year. Gerard Healy was banging on about our inside 50 entires all day and he’s spot on.
  2. I hope the draw gets re-jigged and we don’t have to cop GWS next game. Otherwise we’re looking at 0-2 That brand of footy won’t stack up against top shelf sides such as WC or GWS who punish mistakes and I50 inefficiency.
  3. Spargo and Brown would be the first to go. 7 of 8 kicks from Spargo were delivered gift wrapped to a West Coast player.
  4. Played his best game since not being captain. His football will probably flourish without the responsibility. Meanwhile the skipper was well below his best. I’d say that knee injury had something to do with his lacklustre performance.
  5. I caught the airport rail link to Brisbane CBD in 2018 (for the GC game) and got chatting to Gary. Very friendly fella, knows his footy and love his Dees. It’s a pity he can’t go to the game, but when people like Eddie McGuire, Peggy O’Neill and Brendan Gale can’t attend....
  6. I thought Clarkson being there was crap on the optics and didn’t need to be there given the current climate. But we’ll agree to disagree.
  7. Essendon’s crap pre season coming back to haunt them? Fading badly.
  8. Can someone explain to me why Brendan Gale, Peggy O’Neill, and Eddie McGuire were not in attendance at their respective games but Alistair Clarkson was at today’s game because he’s playing Freo next week. Thats what you call taking the urine Clarko.
  9. It never ceases to amaze me that the Dogs lost their elim final last year to GWS by 58 points - just 8 points less than our loss to WC in the prelim. Dogs didn’t get a whisper from the media about their pathetic effort. Meanwhile the media labelled out performance a crime against humanity. Dogs are overrated.
  10. Anyone who’s capable of a 37 touch 3 goal game is a pretty decent talent. Needs to narrow his best and worst games. Needs to play in the guts.
  11. He may have to take a centre bounce or 2.
  12. So who’s going to relieve Gawn in 30 degree heat? Against NickNat and Hickey. Has Mitch Brown ever taken a hit out?
  13. I think Lockhart plays this weekend given Salem's out.
  14. Will we miss Salem greatly or is he just a handy player at best who is probably our best kick over a short distance? Jones will be missed if his Marsh Series was anything to go by. Looked like he turned the clock back 3 or so years. I thought Spargo was OK in the Marsh Series and praccy match V North. Not as upset as others he got a gig. A bit baffled ANB got an automatic ticket into the 18. Played 1 good quarter and 7 average to woeful ones in the 2 Marsh games. His skill level seems to be going backwards by the year.
  15. Has an Achilles injury according to the MFC website.
  16. Might be something resembling our praccy match V's North where quarters ran to the 23 minute mark. As an alternative, they could have double the break in play after each goal - say 60-70 seconds with 16 minute quarters. Should be able to get the quarters to high 20's , but the players would be getting sufficient rest between goals. 21-24 minute quarters does seem a bit short changed.
  17. They may have to play mid week games to counter the inevitable closure.
  18. According to the injury update Jones isn't a certainty, has an Achilles issue.
  19. We'll probably still get walloped in the free kick count - 27-9.
  20. My guess would be 22-25 minutes per quarter, as opposed to the 28-32 range.
  21. Being a die hard Melbourne supporter I'd take it, but I wouldn't enjoy it as much as every other year. I've been waiting 30 years to see an MFC premiership live at the G, and being unable to be there to celebrate the moment would sour the achievement IMO. I'm sure others that go weekly would share the same view. Maybe later in the season, if we're in the hunt to make finals and possibly top 4, my view may change. I hold out hope that crowds will be allowed back in if the season extends into October and November. China may be resuming a little normality in April which is a flicker of hope.
  22. If you offered me the flag this year I wouldn’t be all that excited in taking it, if every single game including the Grand final were lock outs.
  23. Devastating financial effects outweighs optics IMO - assuming the government and medical fraternity believe it's ok to play.
  24. Jennings should be held in higher esteem around here. He did guide us to our maiden AFL X premiership.
  25. The most basic level of fundraising is to not bother the club for a membership refund.
