  1. Yep I recall that article 8 or so weeks ago. Wonder what’s the progression with the contract status?
  2. I hope we’re not breaking the bank in re-signing Jack. We need to put some many aside to retain Fritsch. He’ll kick 35 goals next year and was probably in the top 6 or 7 in the league in terms of shots on goal this year.
  3. I thought he started the year really well for Hawthorn playing mistake free footy, but slowly got worse as the year and losses went on for Hawthorn. Our defence is our best unit so it was neither here nor there that he’s no longer with us. Having said that, is Lever that much better than Frost? I think we can say he’s comfortably better than O Mac.
  4. Just listening to Edmund and Dwayne Russell on SEN. They both reckon he’s got a few years left in the tank at 32. Hope they’re right.
  5. His kicking’s been woeful across his career but this year they were surprisingly crisp by his un-lofty standards. If there’s a choice between keeping Hannan and ANB I’d be choosing the latter.
  6. Thought he showed a bit late in the year. Also had the kicking radar on this year. Obvously wouldn’t mind if he goes if it’s a part of the bigger picture of addressing our key needs.
  7. He does go missing way too often but he’s a natural goal kicker and we don’t have too many of that ilk. His goal kicking talents were on display last week and other clubs would’ve taken notice. I’d keep him ahead of other inconsistent players such as Hannan, but concede that we’ll probably have another Kent situation where another club offers him a 3 year deal versus our 1 year offer.
  8. Started the year like an absolute rocket at Casey Fields with a 38 possession 3 goal game and never looked back. As someone else mentioned, you just know he’ll nail that 55 metre set shot for goal. Can’t wait to see him live at the G next year!
  9. I think Polec was out the door at North the minute he wore another club's jumper earlier in the year.
  10. How would you describe him? He just looks so casual out there. Never gets excited or emotional after kicking a goal.
  11. I have to agree. Viney is in no way a crisp public speaker but his speech was very sincere and thoughtful. He's clearly highly valued by the coaches as he consistently finishes top 3 in the 'Bluey'.
  12. Must have voted the house down in some of those mid season games as he was invisible in the last 4 games as well as missing the first 5.
  13. You can tell Bartlett’s livid about missing finals. Probably mentioned it about 6 times in his speech.
  14. Not sure if it's due to his laconic and easy going appearance on the footy field but he couldn't look less excited being out there on Saturday, particularly after his goals and vision of him when the final siren sounded. I have no basis for this but I reckon he's found a suitor who has promised him more money and a set position - just a gut feel, hope I'm wrong.
  15. Watch Gawn make it despite his worst season in years and Petracca misses the cut.
  16. Tom Lynch and Gunstan kicked 3 goals on him in rounds 5 and 7. The rest of the games were 1 or 0. Maybe Weitering and Moore didn't have multiple goals kicked on them in any game this year? I'm absolutely flabbergasted May didn't get nominated. His games against St Kilda and GWS were near flawless for a defender, and he was dominant in other games too.
  17. Channel 7 news on the ball again. Were confident St Kilda would be 'hosting' at Adelaide Oval.
  18. I think he's damaged goods in terms of being an AFL player. I don't believe any club will go near him after this incident. It's not as serious as the Stack and Coleman-Jones kebab incident but it's just as stupid.
  19. A ruthless club would order the entire club to join Bennel on the first flight out to Melbourne today. They can enjoy their holidays in lockdown.
  20. The club must now tear up the contract offer for next year. He’s made an absolute fool of Goodwin and Mahoney who gave him the lifeline and also cost us $50k of soft cap.
  21. Not sure what Freo have got against us making finals but they’ve sabotaged selections and clearly have no interest in winning.
  22. Good start Sydney. 25-6.
  23. If the Dockers were that desperate to win they probably would’ve rolled the dice on an injured Walters. Dogs should be winning this one quite easily and if they do lose then they should be considered as mentally soft as us.
  24. Assuming it’s true, he clearly doesn’t have the professionalism required for AFL footy. Both parties gave it a shot, we move on. Even if he was re-signed for a year, I wouldn’t confidently have in our best 22 due to his injury issues.
  25. I don’t know if it’s his laconic attitude or whether he’s not happy playing for the MFC, but he could not have looked less happy after his goals and when the final siren sounded yesterday. I’d like to persist with him but he still hasn’t re-signed.
