  1. I really liked Rivers game last week but he really struggled against good sides such as Richmond and Geelong earlier in the season. I’m unsure whether he’d be able to back it up against a class unit in Collingwood. VDB is probably more of a hinderance than a help but we have a 4-2 record with him in the side, and lost the Bris and Port games in his absence. I’ve had a gut full of his reversal frees and 50 mtr Penalties. A win tomorrow and we’re a massive shake for finals given we have a bunch of ordinary sides such as Freo, Sydney and Essendon on the run home. A loss isn’t the end of the world and we can still manage 8 or 9 wins, but it would be another missed opportunity against the big boys.
  2. I got a sneaky feeling he’s too good a player at the moment to get sucked into media street. (now watch him battle for 8 possessions and 2 behinds tomorrow)
  3. I stopped reading when some bloke said our last 6 games at the GABBA have been losses We won twice at the Gabba in 2018 by a combined total of about 100 points.
  4. Ecstatic Stevenson’s out. Their most naturally talented goal kicker.
  5. I’m with you mate. We’re 0/5 in big tests this year. Would be easily the clubs biggest and meaningful win since 2018.
  6. Analysis of breaks: Thu Sep 3 - Sydney (5 day break) V Melbourne ( 5 day break) Mon Sep 7 - Melbourne (4 day break) V Fremantle (5 day break) Sat Sep 12 - GWS ( 4 day break) V Melbourne (5 day break) Swings and roundabouts I guess.
  7. And may there never be another season like this one.
  8. So much better than last year where we'd have more scoring shots and inside 50's but lose the game. The Richmond, Hawthorn and GC games were very good in the accuracy department. We've only let ourselves down twice this year - the Geelong and Port games with the former being a direct factor in losing the game. Brisbane need to sort out their accuracy issues or they'll be facing another early exit.
  9. I agree. I won't be able to hack another season of watching QLD, SA and WA residents enjoy their freedom at the footy while we can't even cross the road without a mask. Surely there will be crowds in VIC next year, even if we have to wear masks to the footy. Victorians are going to have to live with the virus next year. We can't stay at home forever FCS!
  10. Watch the Eagles collapse in a heap now that they're back on the road.
  11. Excellent result Sydney beating a woeful GWS. We win and we’re in the 8 I believe.
  12. Jackson has a hamstring tendon injury. Have to be close to season ending?
  13. Just not the regulation 35 metre set shots for goal. Tracc's still struggling in that department.
  14. The players would probably prefer it at night. There's a few high 20's/low 30's days coming up in Alice, which would mean that conditions would be near perfect for a 7:10 bounce.
  15. Yeah he's been really good for a second rounder and he hopefully can give us a further 6 solid years at the club. He gives us a bail out option out wide that we haven't really enjoyed in recent years. I was really excited we targeted him last year and he hasn't disappointed. He has a case of the goal kicking yips (0.5) so would be keen to break the drought shortly.
  16. Off memory we wanted Georgiades ahead of Rivers.
  17. I’d be hoping the games return to normal length games next year. I will still put a small asterix next to this year’s premier simply due to there not being traditional length games this year.
  18. Absolutely agree. Gawn bails us out with his defensive 50 marks. Will miss that more than his actual tap work. Conversly, Goldstein’s ruckwork won’t be the deciding factor in them winning the game. It’s his around the ground influence and his goal kicking ability.
  19. We kick the ball so poorly going inside 50. Jack Watts is a very good kick of the footy. Do you see where I’m going with this?
  20. There is absolutely no context or relevance in this post but Weideman has the 5th best average of goal per game in the league of 2.0. That last quarter 50 metre set shot goal against Port may have turned his set shot woes around and boosted his confidence. Kicked nicely vs Adelaide.
  21. May would be the obvious choice but he might be still paying the penalty from last year’s drinking incident. Have a sneaky feeling it might be Lever, though others on DL have suggested it’s Melksham.
  22. Has Preuss played a scratch match yet? If not, I’m assuming that’s the reason he didn’t get selected. I’ll rate this win if we can get the job done. North have always caused us problems, we have 2 key outs and the win will get us a half game out of the 8.
  23. What did you guys expect? He’s not in the Dangerfield, Cotchin, Martin, Burgoyne ā€œboys clubā€ so he was always going to cop full tote dividends. At least the tribunal has saved Goodwin the job of giving him the tap on the shoulder as he was simply warming the seat for Kozi, and he was quite frankly poor on Wednesday night.
