CHANGES: Rd 16 vs Fremantle
Fritsch will get dropped. What a garbage response after getting disciplined the week before.

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs Sydney
Can someone explain to me why Sydney have played absolutely brilliantly against us 2 years in a row, despite being a bottom 4 side with bugger all to play for in both years. We were dog diarrhoea yesterday but I’m giving all the credit to Sydney. They attacked us from minute 1 when they ran down Salem after Petracca stupidly handed him the hot potato. What did Sydney have to gain out of yesterday aside from a bit of pride and the loss of a top 3 draft pick? I don’t get it?

CHANGES: Rd 16 vs Fremantle
Just checked the weather and it’s going to be just as windy for this game as it was yesterday. Lets hope we can adapt to the conditions for once.

The Oscar McDonald Appreciation Thread
I liked the bit where they had to play at him full forward just to stay out of the way.

THE RUN HOME 2020
I think I've seen that movie before.

Another Covid breach by Richmond
A tiny part of me would laugh if these two were responsible for the season being ripped up.

THE RUN HOME 2020
Agreed. Finishing 9th and 10th will give this mob a bit of fire in the belly. At least this year we were motivated enough to jump up the ladder a fair bit which is something to hold our hats on. But as you said, we're too far easily satisfied and get way ahead of ourselves. We can somehow make finals with 9 wins if Saints cop beltings to West Coast and GWS and have a narrow win over Hawthorn, meanwhile we have big wins over Freo and Essendon. And ofcourse Dogs don't beat WC on Sunday. But it's a massive long shot. Last night stuffed our season and confirmed that we're not a finals side. End of story. Unsure whether we can take the next step next year under Goodwin.

Swans in Cairns for 2 days vs Demons less than 5 hours - why?
Another reason why I can’t take this season seriously (Oh and the minor fact that the length of games are shorter than junior footy) I knew we’d lose one of these two Cairns games because of the scheduling and preparation, and raised this concern in the selections thread. Meanwhile Bulldogs and North are playing about their 15th straight game in Surfers this weekend.

Harley Bennell?
He looked really promising in those two games in Sydney but in the Lions game the week after he just didn't have the intensity for AFL and missed a sitter he'd normally kick in his sleep. Are we confident he'll be on the list next year? He has a 1 year contract right?

What they're saying down at Lakeside Drive
Still have nightmares about round 22 last year. Swans have won 14 of the last 17 meetings. Heeney is a massive out for them. The Fritsch comment is interesting. Wasn't he on the verge of re-signing a month ago? Maybe all's not well after last week's incident.

2020 Grand Final Venue
Hell yeah we're jealous. We're jealous of the rest of Australia who can enjoy the basic level of freedom. We can't even cross the street without wearing a mask. We can't even take out our bins after 8pm without getting arrested. Yes. We're jealous, snaky, over it, and fed up with it all.

Touching on the bigger issues. I like it.

That's terrific news.

How can they lock in a grand final right now when QLD could easily see a spike in cases over the next 2 months?

CHANGES: Rd 15 vs Sydney
Anyone know if the weather in Cairns will be as oppressive as Darwin? 26 degrees with 80% humidity at kick off. And we have to all it all again 4 days later. Very concerned we'll either drop a winnable game in Cairns or put in a listless display against GWS (as per Port game). These blokes are fit, but can they overcome this fixture cram? I'm giving this side an absolute out/excuse if we miss finals. Alice - Cairns - Cairns in 9 days while other sides have mostly stayed in QLD. Bulldogs - 10 of their final 12 games in Surfers or Brisbane St Kilda - 9 of their final 12 games in Surfers or Brisbane North - 11 of their final 12 games in Surfers or Brisbane Brisbane - Will leave QLD twice for the entire season FCS!! This season is a bit of a video game if you ask me. Just make it up as they go.

CHANGES: Rd 15 vs Sydney
That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard since COVID started. Footy will be back in Victoria next year unless the VIC government blow it again. IN - Fritsch, Hunt OR Neal-Bullen Out - Hannan, Pickett (like the kid but he needs a rest. Bring him back Monday night) If Hibberd doesn't get up, Lockhardt in. I wonder who gets the job on Papley?

THE RUN HOME 2020
Yeah I’m not 100% we fly in fly out but someone mentioned we are so I assume that’s the case.

The Choice: Christian Petracca or Paddy McCartin
In hindsight you'd probably go Petracca over McCartin.

THE RUN HOME 2020
Agreed. You can just sense that there will be one game that we'll be severely fatigued and as flat as a pancake and it will cost us a win. Could even be as early as the Freo game. I'm annoyed we have to fly-in-fly-out for the 2 Cairns games. Feels like we've made as many sacrifices as anyone with the scheduling. I see a few VIC teams have'n't really left the QLD hub. At least we get GWS when they have a 4 day break. Hopefully we play Essendon on at least a 7 day break (for us) which will probably be a "Win and In" game for us.
