  1. In hindsight they should've rested him against Brisbane and played him this week. Looked off his tucker all night, especially that sitter he missed. Two games in a row might be the limit for him this season.
  2. Can some please explain to me why they're opening the GABBA for just 500 people? May as well save everyone the trouble and play it behind closed doors.
  3. 500 people is absolutely pathetic and insulting to the local MFC members in QLD. Play it behind closed door so everyone can miss out as opposed to pretty much everyone. It's like a teacher bringing in 30 chocolate bars into the class room and only 2 students getting a chocolate for no apparent reason.
  4. May as well just play the game behind closed doors.
  5. What's that saying about defending the indefensible? Fristch stuffed up. End of story. Had he not given away the 50, the Lions player likely would've kicked it down the line to a Max Gawn contest 60 mtrs out from our goal, and who knows what may have happened after that?
  6. Fair point about the need to replace Jetta like for like. I just feel that he won't get selected this week, and they either move the magnets around (and bring in Sparrow as a separate inclusion) or bring in Smith or Rivers as a replacement defender.
  7. Sounds very unfair you can't get a ticket and it sounds like you love the Dees as much as anyone in QLD. Just play the game behind closed doors. What is the point of having 500 people? You can barely hear or see the crowd when watching GABBA games this year . Infact there's been numerous game that Fox and ch 7 have put on the canned noise despite there being a crowd in QLD. Also sounds like the ticketing allocation has no integrity about it. Play it behind closed doors, as per the earlier rounds.
  8. He probably should be. He's not a bad back up every now and then.
  9. T Mac has to come in. 4 goals in the magoos and he's a very proficient kick for goal - something that was sorely lacking on the weekend. Wouldn't mind having a look at Swallow who's apparently in contention. He looked ok in a practice match. One of Harmes or Brayshaw should get dropped after continued ordinary performances and to keep the standards up. Jetta might be an out when combining a head knock and an ordinary performance. IN - T Mac, Sparrow Out - Brayshaw, Jetta (or Jackson if they don't want to go 3 talls.)
  10. Just play in front of nobody. An allowance of 500 is an insult to the locals. It's unfair that some can go and many miss out. Therefore play it behind closed doors.
  11. Agreed. It the game was at the MCG or Junction Oval we may have shaved 30 goals off the margin.
  12. And yet the boys banged home 21 goals the following week to beat Essendon who were good that year. Was this a '186' style protest? Did another Brent Moloney play ill and get subbed out at half time with 0 possessions? Did the coach get sacked? Did Demonland go into meltdown that night? Feel sorry for those that made the trek down to Waverley that afternoon.
  13. Good news on the contract extension. Weren't Collingwood and Richmond keeping an eye on him? He'll hopefully learn his lesson from the 50 mtr penalty. Most players will do something unforgivable at least once in their career.
  14. Trac's season's getting ridiculous. Willed us back into the game in the last quarter.
  15. We so badly need a scalp. As you pointed out we keep losing to the big boys of the comp to be considered anywhere near a top 4 or even top 8 side. We need to start by knocking off Port, but I'm not convinced they're the ultimate scalp at the moment. Brisbane are certainly a better side than Port.
  16. Massive call there. Massive. Or are you just referring to personnel rather than actual performances? We're certainly better than the shambles of 2019 though.
  17. With respect to the Hannan - Fristch debacle, I absolutely blame Fristch more than Hannan on that one. Hannan's kick was terrible however a Lions kick in from deep in the back pocket would've been kicked to a Max Gawn contest 60 mtrs out from goal and who know what would've happened. It was the best part of the ground to make a mistake/give away a free. Instead Fritsch carried on like a "smart alec" as Barret labelled him, and was warned numerous times to give the ball back, only for him to then lie on the pill. Can't defend the indefensible there. I don't know if Goodwin delivers good old fashioned cooks after the game but Fristch deserves one right there. The Lever point review was frustrating as hell, but technically the goal umpire did the right thing as it was a close call. But common sense suggested it should not have been called back for such an irrelevant score of 1 point. Good performance by the lads to keep a top 2 side goal-less in the last quarter, but ultimately these honorable losses are going to cost us finals. There will no good will from supporters or media if we drop another thriller to Port this week. Infact it will be season over as we can't go 7-2 after Port.
  18. I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Goodwin gave him a special gee up at 3 qtr time but he didn’t respond at all. Harmes is having an ordinary season and there wouldn’t be one game this year where he’s been in our best 6-8. Like Brayshaw, he’s probably struggling with a clearly defined position on the ground.
  19. We’ll have to go 7-3 for the remainder of the season if we want to play finals. She might be over if we get done tonight.
  20. I celebrated epically, and then realised we’ll still have to beat a side at Metricon Stadium that we have a 1-19 record against since round 9 2007. This mediocre, middle of the road, average footy club beats us anytime-anywhere.
  21. Any chance we get North over to play us at Adelaide Oval given that we would have already been there on the previous Wednesday night?
  22. Lions and/or Suns should be required to travel up to Cairns due to their seriously lack of travel on the road ahead.
  23. Very much glad we’ve been spared the obligatory 1-6 point loss down in Tassie to inevitably derail our season. North play that ground very well and have a genuine home ground advantage. With that being said can the TAS government grant special exemption for AFL games?
  24. More importantly, any chance we'll get to see the boys play at the G this year? Finals? Absolutely hanging out for a game of footy live this year.
  25. I reckon he's heading for a top 5-8 B&F finish. Been a great pick up aside from 1 or 2 quietish games at the G earlier in the season.
