  1. Rivers has had 3 poor games in a row if you include the practice matches. Not adverse to dropping him next week. We’re playing a high quality side in St Kilda and we can’t afford to carry mistake riddled players. I’m sure Rivers will be a good player in time (see GWS game last year) but he needs to go back to Casey to work on his composure. In - Viney, Hibberd out - Rivers, Sparrow or perhaps drop Hunt for Hibberd and Rivers gets another chance.
  2. It was a disappointing crowd but not unexpected. Putting COVID aside, the club has been such a disappointment over the last 2 years and that had clearly affected crowd numbers. Watch Gerard Whateley get on his high horse this week about the lack of crowd and that we should’ve allowed Essendon/Hawthorn to play the game at the G while we play at Marvel. He was sooking about it pre game.
  3. If T Mac continues to play like he did today then clearly Jackson or Weid misses out.
  4. I thought he’d have a massive one today given how “angry” he was over the off season and the fact the he’s playing on a debutant.
  5. I’m assuming there’s going to be a mass arrival of supporters in the next 20 minutes as there’d be lucky to be 10,000 people at 1:25pm.
  6. Probably more than what T Mac will manage all season.
  7. And Gerard Whateley still sooking it up as to why we didn’t volunteer to play at Marvel to allow Essendon to play here tonight. Let it go Gerard.
  8. Caro Wilson flabbergasted as to why he hasn’t been re-signed yet.
  9. In fairness our round 1 side was always going to be weak given we have Brown, Weid, Viney, Melksham and Hibberd out. Be a great result if we can get out of this with a win.
  10. Yes they do and I won't be making any excuses. The problem is we have a few best 22 players getting some minutes for Casey such as Viney, Melksham and Hibberd which does not help us at all come tomorrow. Hoepfully next week Vs St Kilda we can add at least 2 of those 3 names into the side.
  11. Sounds like the Cairns game, except they kicked accurately in your dream. Scary thing is I can see us with 4 goals at 3 qtr time. They have a very good defense.
  12. Agreed. Jason Bennett should be on the full time channel 7 calling roster in the home and away season, if he hasn’t already. He used to call for the old Fox Footy in the mid 2000’s.
  13. I don’t believe we have an elite list at all. We lack lock down small defenders, small forwards that can kick 20 a year, barely any and pacy players and Oscar Baker as our other winger.
  14. The one that is fit, available and can help out our forward line depth in a time of need. Not the one that will show a cameo or 2 at Casey on Saturday while our forward line is a mess 50ks down the Monash.
  15. Is Oscar available to mentor his big brother before Saturday?
  16. So happy for him. Until we all go to the G on Saturday and watch our dysfunctional forward line in action.
  17. Good for him for making the most of a second chance. But there’s going to be some serious backlash if T Mac continues to stink up the joint in a loss this weekend while we hang on to an over the hill Mitch Brown and pick up a replacement forward that isn’t even ready, even through we’re crying out for a key forward depth.
  18. Is that the same Oscar that had to be moved to full forward against Sydney last year just to stay out of the way of the ball. Been on for 2 minutes and already kicked a goal, took a mark and won a holding the ball.
  19. Silvagni has done his shoulder. O Mac is on!
  20. Wouldn't IT be nice if we could open the season with two hot sides such as Brisbane and Port at the GABBA or Adelaide Oval. Or a West Coast V Richmond or Geelong game at Optus Stadium. Something different to the same old same old Richmond/Carlton predictable yawn fest. The GWS V St Kilda, Essendon V Hawthorn, Collingwood V Dogs games (and our game) should all be worth watching due to those games being hard to tip a winner. The rest of the games on paper appear to be a yawn.
  21. In fairness I think naming the side the day before the game has something to do with a COVID protocol, and hopefully it will be back to Thu night selections next year.
  22. HIbberd's been ruled out. Just too underdone.
  23. Excellent analysis and it's a bit of a fluke that we play a few sides that are coming off road trips - some from WA. I can't see us being any better than 3-4 though. I'm concerned about our weak forward line and still a bit scarred by the AAMI Series game against the Dogs where we were so poor that afternoon (albeit with a few out). Hoping it was a case of one team treating it like a week 1 final and the other managing their injuries to round 1.
  24. Now that’s a group of supporters that have a healthy respect and a large amount of admiration for the MFC...
  25. Agreed. If he wakes up on Saturday morning without a pulse, he’d have to be in a little doubt.
