I think I have a pretty good understanding of the abuse umpires receive but there is a point where the pendulum swings too far the other way and the player gets unreasonly penalised.

This is slightly off topic but Jordan Lewis is the only player who I have ever seen who could hook or slice it from set shots at goals depending on where he was positioned. Most players have a natural shape but he shaped it whichever way he wanted to suit the angle he was on.

It's an ethical thing and everybody should be entitled to the same information. Its the bookies job to use the information better. I very rarely bet on footy but I had a fair whack on Oliver to get most Brownlow votes for Melbourne in his 2nd season at 150-1 and bookie banned me.

I don't care how many games Selwood has captained. I've never seen Neitz, Jones, Gawn snipe lick that in their career, letalone a quarter. And to make it worse he ducks himself.

If I want to bet on a player winning on the rising star or Brownlow the information is very important. If I want to bet on Melbourne to win the minor premiers and they aren't transparent with an injury to Oliver it effects the fairness.

If the AFL are going to take a fortune from gambling agencies they should be obliged to enforce transparency of clubs reporting on injuries.
