Draft Behind The Scenes - First 15 Hours as a Draftee
Wrecker46 replied to adonski's topic in Melbourne Demons
After reading commentary that Langford would rip someones arm off to get the footy it was pleasing and appropriate to see his favourite movie is Braveheart. I can't wait for all the Richmond ferals to ponder why they didn't take him with the first pick. -
Welcome to Demonland: Harvey Langford
Wrecker46 replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Trade, Draft & Free Agency
Once Petracca went down Oliver stopped being Oliver? I'd say it had more to do with his broken hand, broken thumb, broken ribs, strained knee and lack of pre-season. Looking at the pre-season photos this year Oliver doesn't have strapping on anything and is happy. Langford will have the best player in the league feeding him the ball. -

CP5 changed girlfriends just before he became eilte. Off field harmony has more impact than most people realise -

1 pretty important one though. -
Following US elections of devision, Neale Daniher unites. When we won the one premiership in my lifetime our ethos was "selfleness" and Neale embodies that

The tackles have JT written over it

I think he went on to coach a team dwindling away at the bottom for 50 years that almost megered into irrelevance and got accused of underacheiving because the list he helped click were after that percieved to be too talented not to win 3 in a row
-
I think he spent most of the first quater on the bench and was cooked by the last but inbetween it was the most sublime individual performace you will ever see

I got a txt last night from one of my best mates who barrscks for the bombers who haven't won a final since Peter Jackson was their CEO. They are death riddng us.

I don't have the stats to back it up but i recall weid being similar. Great vertical leap from stand still with a high reach and i thought process was he would be able to break defensive zones with that as an assett because instead of leading he could park himself in space in a zone and we'd just pop it up to him

Funny i thought the exact opposite he was harder at it than i expected but a much worse kick

THE TRADING CHRONICLES 2024 by Whispering Jack
Wrecker46 replied to Demonland's topic in Special Features
So we have kept out best 2 midfielders of the last 50 years. Our best forward pocket in the same time frame, maybe excluding the wizard has stayed on The media narrative has been against us the entire period. We did well this trade period. Sharpe looks a suitable replacement for ANB and we somehow got pick 9 in what everybody says is a strong draft. Tim Lamb has done well. Brad Green has held the club together, Max Gawn shouldn't have to front every question for the organosation. We brought in a ruckman who might not play at the top level but is a good clubman and can at least compete with Max at training so he can go on being the best. I'll give us a 10 out of 10 for the trade period. Let's make the next obvious off field decisions swiftly and continue the good trading. -
There is not a chance in hell Gawn or Brad Green let that happen

Club in crisis - Media pile on - August 2024
Wrecker46 replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
There is one thing that stops the pile on towards Melbourne and earns our media department much undeserved money. Front page pic in the Herald picture book of Oliver and Petracca running around shirts off together before they are due back at training -
You left out the bit where he won us the game in the 2 minutes he was on
-
If Goody has to go because our list has under achieved he needs to be judged on the available list not a hypothetical one. I don't think he is the coach for a rebuild but i also think we have another roll at the dice
-
Can't wait for JT to take someone not even in the conversation like Oliver and Windsor. A decade ago Demonland would go into meltdown but now everyone will just pitty the other clubs that had picks before us and missed
-
Given our track record of draft picks at the time, i don't imagine anyone could have predicted the fat red head kid that nobody else rated would become a legend of the mfc and have the members screaming to burn the house down if he was let go
-
Given none of our supporter base can get JVR'S pronunciation correct and yell Roo when he get's it, i'm nor sure why the same people are upset when our president calls trac pertracka.
-
Should have stay tuned. Looks like we're keeping our best two midfielders of the last 50 years and still have plenty of room in our salary cap to make a play for somebody else. Could be the biggest [censored] you to the media of all time if we snag someone unexpected.
