Geez the collective circle jerking around Parish is starting to annoy me. BT labelling him âthe player of the yearâ - the media love for Essendon is so putrid

BB made a difference
Spot on! And when Fritta, Jackson and TMAC start attracting the defenders, Brown will become free and he is a serious weapon. The hope would be that teams have to start allocating their defensive resources to a number of our forwards, which makes us super dangerous. If that happens, Brown has the ability to tear defenders apart one on one.

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
You must have been watching a different game. Had separation on a number of occasions and balls were kicked high and not to his advantage. Even when this occurred, on a couple occasions, he was able to double back and make a contest. At ground level he was terrific, leading his man to the ball and then doubling back towards goal to collect the footy. The connection with teammates will come from playing more games. He also allows others to jump a the ball and plays a team game, often as the the 2nd or 3rd string in a pack marking situation, protecting the space. He is going nowhere. side note - Iâve been critical of Petty at times, but he was wonderful tonight and showed everyone why the coaches like him.

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
Ben Brown was a success tonight and didnât have to kick a single goal to help us win. Straightened us right up and provided a target. Brought it to ground, followed up at ground level, hit up targets inside 50. He must stay in the side. When TMac has an off week, Brown is the one that can step up and hit the scoreboard

TEAMS: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
What I like about his goals in this game is there was a variety of goals, a lot like the ones he kicked in the Casey game. He actually is decent at keeping his feet and following up. He draws free kicks and nails shots. He got a couple short passes and slotted them. It kinda debunks this idea that he can only kick goals from leading out and marking. A lot of people say he is nailed to the train tracks. I dispute that.

What To Do With Jack Viney
Two weeks off the foot and then back running. I donât think he did a full program after 2 weeks. He had to be loaded back up. much like his 2 week injury and âheâll be cherry ripeâ for Queens Birthday.

I wouldnât be dropping Brayshaw. Viney can go before Gus

What To Do With Jack Viney
I question, as others have, why after such an extensive layoff, he walked straight back into the Seniors. I think we should have built him back up through the Reserves. He looks well off the pace and unable to pick up the game plan.

And Weideman is a high half forward, but you seem to have no problem with him being a Full Forward in the AFL side.

Rudeness towards trainers
Vineyâs attitude towards teammates has been poor most of his career. Something tells me he is very much his own person and not really a guy that everyone gets along with. There was a game last year where he stormed off into the rooms and didnât join in the song. Apparently it was because he had to take a bog. It was quickly forgotten about, but Iâve never been convinced the story was truth. He is what he is and the weekend was a prime example of a few contradictions in his character.

Are the Demons pretenders?
Yeah I watched it. The best contributions were the goals he missed, because he actually took strong grabs on the lead. He also nailed a couple of shots from marks. It wasnât a mind blowing game, but did you watch the butchered delivery from the VFL players to him? Weid was excellent up the ground, but unless you are dropping TMAC, there isnât a spot for Weid

Are the Demons pretenders?
In his first VFL game in a month last week, he kicked 5 goals and 2 assists. Define underwhelmingâŠ. No one knows what the story was with him last night. Seems to have spent a lot of time off the ground. Photos of him in a track jacket etc.
