CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
Kick_It_To_Pickett replied to Hellofatime's topic in Melbourne Demons
Why not? We played Viney straight away without an VFL form whatsoever ? Is it because his name is Viney and the romanticism that he attracts? Brown kicked 5 last week and apparently was on managed minutes last night. I think Brown has runs on the board at AFL level to at least be given an opportunity -

Couldn’t be any worse than Viney and might actually win a clearance. Again though, the only opinion that matters here is yours. You are by far the biggest antagonist on this forum. -
Great, just what we need … a another player who ‘can’t finish’

I’d be dropping Viney and looking at AVB. Viney is right off the pace of the game and constantly makes poor decisions by foot. His kicking skills are sub-standard. He needs to show some form before playing seniors. My concern is that he may be broken, permanently! This foot issue seems like it is set to plague him.! -
Wouldn’t it be the same old story though? Bloke dominates at VFL level and comes into the seniors and literally has no impact. We’ve seen it all before. Did Brown actually play reduced minutes or are some posters just giving him an out. Plenty of people on the MFC Facebook page disputing that he played limited game time. 3 disposals for an entire game is very very poor. He was great last week. Would love to know his total minutes.

No way…who’d have guessed

That was putrid. Pathetic selection. We are on the eve of playing the best teams in the comp and we don’t know what our forward line looks like. Kozzy was pathetic again. Neale Bullen back to be being Neale Bullen. Spargo being used as a lead up and no one stays front and centre. Hunt made some real blunders, but at least he took the game on. Had we of had BBB at FF he would have been able to kick to a target.
-
We take forever to get it in because we look up and see a midget fleet as our only options inside 50. Appalling non selection. Teams have worked out our game plan and we just stick to the same old stuff
-
Playing to script. Useless Forward structure. No one leads from the square. TMac playing high half forward. We can’t score. Great non selection

Enlighten me oh chosen one, Lord Nev of the highest knowledge on everything. We have a full-time paid social media manager, what extra cost is it to the club to put out an extra post on Facebook or Instagram? If we paid for a sponsored advertisement and botched the headline, is that a cost factor or is it more about not being proactive? Please tell me all you know about ‘business’
-
Who is Clarke??
-
You would be better off going to NB outlet at south wharf or Smith St Collingwood. They routinely sell Adult jumpers for 25 bucks. The kids ones for even less. Might be worth giving them a call to check stock
-
@Lord Nevthis is what we paid for as a sponsored ad. So we are paying for content and this is the big pump up we came up with. “We’re back home at the G”
-
We employ a full time social media manager. It takes little time to add an extra post for the week. Or drop the fluff pieces on Laurie playing his VFL game. I’m sure there is a face palm emoji coming.

Social media doesn’t cost anything

Suspect you are right. I don’t feel the club had been particularly proactive in enticing fans to come along. I understand the reasons why there are very few ppl going, particularly when you have a large group you wish to go with, the system is a nightmare . I just reckon they could be a bit more public with urging fans to attend. We are top of the friggin ladder! It sucks that we can’t have a normal crowd at the moment
-
Any predictions on crowd numbers for tomorrow? We should be selling out 25k, but our attendances this year have been well down - even Anzac Eve was well below expectations

Perhaps we will see the ‘late change’ on Saturday morning if the weather remains clear
-
The bloke hasn’t been able to play a game in a month due to COVID and boots 5 in his first game, while the seniors kick 9 in total. Setting high standards is one thing, being stubborn and ‘sticking to a plan’ that teams have begun to work out, smells like disaster come Saturday afternoon. Happy to be proven wrong, but it’s odd
-
Mumford is sure to have a few ‘clumsy moments’ this week against Gawn. Nothing surer
-
All three you mention have not really fired a shot in a month. I hope they all prove me wrong, but I think we will again struggle with forward connection, but can understand the thinking given the weather forecast.

Got the vision?? -
9News reporting that Steven May was hurt at training today. Vision of him hobbling. Club claims he had his foot stepped on. He looked in more pain than that. Watch this space I guess
