  1. Any predictions on crowd numbers for tomorrow? We should be selling out 25k, but our attendances this year have been well down - even Anzac Eve was well below expectations
  2. Perhaps we will see the ‘late change’ on Saturday morning if the weather remains clear
  3. The bloke hasn’t been able to play a game in a month due to COVID and boots 5 in his first game, while the seniors kick 9 in total. Setting high standards is one thing, being stubborn and ‘sticking to a plan’ that teams have begun to work out, smells like disaster come Saturday afternoon. Happy to be proven wrong, but it’s odd
  4. Mumford is sure to have a few ‘clumsy moments’ this week against Gawn. Nothing surer
  5. All three you mention have not really fired a shot in a month. I hope they all prove me wrong, but I think we will again struggle with forward connection, but can understand the thinking given the weather forecast.
  6. 9News reporting that Steven May was hurt at training today. Vision of him hobbling. Club claims he had his foot stepped on. He looked in more pain than that. Watch this space I guess
  7. Are you talking Riewoldt?? I don’t get what “going with the roll” means? You think we can fit him in with Ben Brown and Tom McDonald and Luke Jackson? You’ve got me completely baffled
  8. Great, but he isn’t a forward. We don’t need another linkman playing high half forward, unless you think TMac is inferior ? As a forward he is way off it. That’s all this chat is about. Is Weid the answer to our forward line problems? So he has a new role coz he has been proven to be incapable of playing forward ??? What am I missing? He had two shots on goal yesterday and never looked like it! He can play his new role at Casey and hope that McDonald is hurt or has a form slump.
  9. That’s a cool story and I acknowledged that Weid did some good work up the ground, which is confirmed in the Casey Match Report. Right now, Weid is competing with TMAC for the high half forward role. Meanwhile, Ben Brown is kicking the 5 goals we need to elevate our score to more than 9 goals for a match. I really don’t understand why people can’t see that there was a disconnection with our forwards on the weekend. We don’t have a key target atm. Brown in frees up McDonald and Fritta. If TMac stinks it up and Weid continues to perform, he comes back to play CHF.
  10. Spot on and the only good delivery forwards got today was from our experienced miss like AVDB, Melksham and Jones
  11. So a diplomatic way of saying exactly what I said
  12. Weideman has been serviceable as a high half forward. Competed but failed to make the most of his shots in front of goal. Nothing against him personally, but if we are being real about winning a premiership, he isn’t the forward we are looking for. that’s just the truth of what has been on show today. His goal kicking woes are holding him back. Sorry if that upsets you all.
  13. Weideman with a a late goal. Looks good with three minutes to go in the last.
  14. Well it’s just a comparison isn’t it? Two players vying for the same spot. One kicks truly the other kicks it close to out on the full. Not everyone is watching the game. Just a little context for those following here. are you President of the Weideman Apologists Club or something ?
  15. Brown clunks another one on the lead. Nails it from where Weid missed. Has 4 goals. It’s a no brainer for the selection committee
  16. Weird drops another mark in the goal square, Melksham there in support and soccers it through
  17. Ben Brown drops a mark but recovers at ground level, wheels around and hits Weid, who kicks poorly and almost puts it on the full - slight angle 40 m out.
  18. On the 2nd half form, Brown walks in to the side. Forget how many goals. His marking is back.
  19. I was a massive fan of us getting Daw and wanted to see him play seniors, having watched him today, he is a mile off it
  20. BBB with a massive mark out in front from the centre clearance
  21. Melksham going well. Just slice a kick across ground inside 50 to find Weid alone. It was superb. Then Weed went back and missed from directly in front 40 metres out
