Caroline Wilson’s article 2 August 2025
I don’t disagree but the comment about Guerra taking pot-shots at the state government recently didn’t bode well on the acumen front when we know he’ll be grovelling for money for a home base in less than a month.

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
I have wondered whether Trac and/or Clarry’s silence + best behaviour this season is a deliberate ploy by club and player to maximise their trade value. Surely the club said to both last year ‘you went about it the wrong way if you truly wanted to leave. It’s in both of our best interests if you go about it differently this year”

Me too, but feels the least likely of that bunch they’d depart with

From anger to action: A call for constructive feedback to leadership
I didn’t know that… Why is that? And how is it any different than a candidate spamming the entire club database with their agenda?

From anger to action: A call for constructive feedback to leadership
That is actually a bloody good idea.

From anger to action: A call for constructive feedback to leadership
Serious-pants on now; Ultimately as members in a public, unlisted company we have a say - it is our vote. Not too long ago we (as a collective membership) chose to reject change in favour of the incumbent. I wasn’t a fan of that change at the time (still not) but WE chose that. I love the podcast and the discussion/debate/dissection it brings but the role of ‘voice of the fan base’ isn’t Andy’s, it is our vote’s. Finally, I firmly disagree that the C-Suite nor board don’t hear us. I believe they are just making the strategic decisions/ trade-offs that THEY think is the best course of action, like I am sure you would do in your role as an exec in global business kilt. If WE don’t like those decisions then we can have a say with our vote. If I was to do anything political with Demonland I’d advise we find the board member/s that best reflect what WE on this forum want and put D’land’s media power behind them - Andy could be the next Joe Rogan! But I’m also not sure we on this forum would ever reach alignment on much meaningful, to be honest, aside perhaps for the need to overhaul club communication practices.

You don’t come on here much, do you kilt?

Time to go Goody?
I understand what you’re saying but any decision around Goodwin is hardly a knee-j reaction… the side has grossly underperformed for 3.5 seasons now and we’re having this discussion on a forum thread dedicated to debating his ongoing tenure which has now notched up 225 pages!

Time to go Goody?
I’ll believe this when I see it.

Time to go Goody?
I received one too. Was yours asking you to join a think tank to understand the 6:6:6 rule as well?

Brad Greens letter to members
The timing of this (right before board meeting) is odd. Maybe he expects he will be updating with more news post board-meeting but he didn’t want the message about the Goody troll getting mixed in/being lost with that message?

Time to go Goody?
I was watching closely as I thought he was subbed he was off so long. He was ready to come on. Multiple stoppages and Opportunities to come on. Serious flaws in coaches communication. Goodwin vitriole aside, something nqr more broadly in our coaches box.

Time to go Goody?
Half-baked President. Interim-CEO. Still no home-base. A coach who tells everyone it is ok, like Trump. We are millimetres away from disaster and I’m not sure what saves us.

Time to go Goody?
Time to go now Simon, we’re better with a change now than sticking with your half-effort to evolve

POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
I was there. A really weird feeling. Something has to happen now. If we win everyone sweeps our problems under the carpet. Difficult to do that now (I hope)

GAMEDAY: Rd 20 vs St. Kilda
To many, all of that sounds more appealing than a predictable sighting of missed kicks, missed handballs and missed goals.

Who are the assistants emerging as potential top calibre coaches? Feel like I always used to understand who the ‘next bunch’ was… I don’t nowadays

Time to start a rebuild?
It’s not the reason. But sure, if you think we aren’t winning more flags because the club don’t really want to (or in this instance one supporter was happy with winning a premiership) then go for it 👍

Time to go Goody?
Don't think there is a queue for his services. If you’re complaining about Goody butchering things post our flag then be warned that Simmo is skilled with a cleaver

Time to start a rebuild?
I am. Didn’t win one for 50+ years. Sure. I wanted more, but I am happy with one flag.

Can we talk about Kolt?
Similar body shape but I can’t see many more similarities. Rayner always had X Factor (including being very strong in the air) albeit inconsistent. Kolt is more ‘meat and potatoes + tryer’ than X Factor, which is why people lean towards an ANB comparison (I think)

Joe Daniher
Essendon and Hawtorn are neck and neck for memberships. Geelong has more memberships than both but all 3 are in the same ballpark.

Hawks are a clear-cut big club. 6th on the membership table and a lengthy history now of success on and off the field.

Time to start a rebuild?
Trac/Oliver (and arguably Viney) were A graders when contested footy was the game plan du jour. Sure, their recent issues must’ve contributed to their decline but the reality is a) their contested style is less valuable in today’s footy and b) they are trying to adjust their style to be more impactful which will either take time or won’t happen at all. My concern is we attempt to re-build and then end up with players that don’t suit whatever the game turns into in 5 years time.
