Fascinated to understand who leaked the ‘Trac is unhappy’ story. If it was Trac trying to force a trade it was naive because he was never going to be traded with 5 years left. If it was Trac trying to force the club’s hand to make change for the better it was also naive because now it makes us look like a basket case and we’re already suffering with the Dan Houston decision. If it was some coterie type because they’d had a gutful of watching us lose games from their leather armchair in the long room then that decision in its own right may have actually set fire to any remaining hope we can acquire the players that might help us get out of this mess.
  2. Not sure we’ll get much in return for him sadly. Love Nibbler

Pretty much the face of the club through one of the more complex and difficult seasons in memory. He deserves that captaincy until he doesn’t want it anymore.

Should be stripped of the captaincy for letting his son sing Good Old Collingwood Forever without immediately being sent to his room
  5. I’d be surprised if we take our first pick to the draft. Assuming the goal is still to win a flag in the short term, the balance of our list shows we need more in that 24-28 age bracket - we had the highest number of players under the age of 22 playing last week, which is exciting for the future but a concern for the short term. Whilst Houston isn’t the most exciting prospect to chase, he is an experienced AA who is consistent and makes smart decisions moving it forward, and still has 5+ years of footy left in him.
  6. a bit from column A, a bit from column B
  7. Agreed it will happen. Ticks boxes for the league on the ratings front and integrity/tanking front but as a regular nba-watcher the play-in tournament is a bit of a fizzer…. A weekend of games is better than a weekend of nothing though I suppose
  8. He’s definitely got a disproportionately bad haircut

Perhaps we lean over the fence at his next SANFL match and wave $10 notes at him so he knows we have Deep pockets?
  10. Someone said the other day he has East Timorese heritage I think
  11. The irony of Goody giving a vote to a tagger. I really liked Windsor’s game yesterday.
  12. The admission about Gus’ role at the club not working out was news to me. Very sad, really feel for him.

Wow, never knew that. Surely when he debuts he’ll be one of the first (if not the first) people from East Timor to play at the elite level of a major sport?

Is AMW indigenous? I thought he was but then there was more than one reference during Sir Doug rounds about “the three indigenous players on Melbourne’s list (Koz/May/McA)” without any reference to AMW?
  15. Remove the father sons and it looks a Barry Crocker of a draft
  16. I’m hearing we’re now considering Sammy Van Rooyen in the mid-season draft to ease Jacob’s homesickness AND concusion symptoms. The kid can do anything.
  17. Maybe Hawthorn and Norf could merge to become the North Dingley Kangapoos?
  18. I nearly choked on my lukewarm chips and gravy! How are we back talking about drafting SVR again?!

You need to find cover from the zephyr, Zephyr
  20. I saw this one at Coles Yarraville on clearance for $8.50 yesterday. It isn’t plastic but not sure if it is as big as 30cm
  21. This whole thread was an unforgivable moz on us last night.
  22. I think he’ll command a high price and his good is very good but he’s not consistent enough to pay top $ for.
  23. Would be cruel to get his family over from Esperance last minute only to run him for 5 mins at the end of the 4th quarter
  24. I don’t think he is a sniper (probably some bias in that) but it is clear he likes to play on the line and he isn’t fully in control of that. Not convinced he ever will be.
  25. we’ve clearly found one here in Windsor but he hasn’t been in the best 10 players on the ground in any of our matches so far so I don’t think we should be upset by the lack of rising star nomination… Also just remember that Jaidyn Stephenson and Lewis Taylor have won the award in the last decade. I’m comfortable there remains hope for Caleb if he doesn’t clinch the esteemed medal.
