  1. Anyone would think we lost to North by 100 points. We lost to one of last years grand finalists who played out of their skins, after we had them under control for most of the game.
  2. Yep. Things like this thread possibly cost us the game. His role is to kick goals.
  3. Yes. Petty was mostly on JUH.
  4. Pretty obvious that when Geelong get worried they go back to their rubbish chip kick game. We need to remember that.
  5. I canโ€™t believe that anyone can think of swapping him just for draft picks. A draft pick is the possibility of getting a good player; Jackson is proven as a player, his attitude is established and so is his physical durability. He can only be replaced by an established star. Plenty of top draft picks have failed. Of course we remember the draft picks that succeed; the failures are forgotten as they were of forgettable players.
  6. I agree that Kelli is terrible. She chooses to screech in Strine, one cliche after another. On the other hand, I have previously started to separate threads, at times, about how good Daisy is. I am still cross at the club for letting her go to Geelong as a coach when they should have kept her here. Rex Hunt is an old fool, was a terrible commentator who was unlistenable, and I have always assumed his name is rhyming slang.
  7. Isnโ€™t it possible that he has been instructed, as a key goalkicking forward, that he should be the one taking the shot whenever he has a realistic chance? Rather than passing the ball and taking the risk of it being over used? Also, with one of the opportunities against Geelong, he was clearly the closest person to goal, and I donโ€™t think he even saw that there was another Melbourne player who he could pass to; I think he was entitled to take the shot.
  8. If we only win one more we wouldnโ€™t deserve to be in the finals and would lose in the first week. I have faith. I think we will win all the remaining games .
  9. Whoever would have thought that we would miss TMac so badly?
  10. I truly believe the best matchup for Cameron is Hibberd.
  11. Personally, I think Hibbo would be a better man for Cameron. Cameron is more of a running mobile player than a contested mark; Hibbo would destroy him.
  12. Totally against the thought of Mitch Brown coming in, no matter what the situation. He has NO physical presence which is why he consistently fails at AFL level. And as a ruckman it would be even worse. Get Gus to do it - he has done everything elseโ€ฆ๐Ÿ˜
  13. Maybe not worth a vote, but Hibberds blanketing of Charlie Cameron was outstanding.
  14. Is this the oldโ€Is Goodwin the right guy?โ€ resurfacing? FFS! It may not be rocket science, but we won three finals last year by an average of 74 points with none of the above in the attacking half. Oh, let me think โ€“ I think he had pretty much the same midfield then as he does now?
  15. At the G, the displays say Tomlinson. But if Goody says hunt, itโ€™s Hunt. I think Tomlinson offers more versatility.
  16. Tomlinson is a perfect choice for medisub.
  17. Recently there has been a lot of criticism of Jake Laver on this site, with posters suggesting he should be dropped etc.. Some points in his defence. First, he had a rough start to the season with injury. Secondly, over the last 3 weeks he has had to carry the defence as a tall - and he is not really tall and certainly is not solid - with May gone, Petty banged up, and Max having to go forward to help out there instead of dropping back in his normal manner. Oh, and all of this while trying to act as the general - watching the structures, directing the other defenders, last week helping out a first-gamer. And against good teams. I think he has done pretty well actually.
  18. If they pay LJ that sort of money, what do they pay Darcy? It really doesnโ€™t make sense and I donโ€™t trust the information.
  19. People keep saying we havenโ€™t beaten anyone. In fact, we took Richmond apart in everything except the size of the winning margin - because we kicked so inaccurately. We were miles better than them.
  20. An absolute throw by Cripps when tackled, in Richmond forward line โ€“ no free. Some players are untouchable.
  21. In: run and dare Out: slow movement across the half back line and down the wings. Apart from that: At least Weid can fill in in the ruck. Especially with Max injured/limited, I would like to see a three-way rotation of Max/Jackson/Weid in the ruck/CHF. I feel sorry for Mitch Brown but he is not AFL standard. BBB seemed to me to be coming back a bit- he almost took a few marks; maybe next week he takes them. But I hate the fact that he plays so far up the ground; we need a stay-at-home forward so there is always a target.
  22. I think he should train as a CHF, particularly with TMac out.
  23. What happened to Turner?
  24. Canโ€™t see it with Petty. He seemed to share responsibility for Mihocek, who just killed us.
  25. Nowhere near ready yet.
