CHANGES: Rd 23 vs Brisbane
In: Bowey Out: Jordon , until someone teaches him that when he gets the ball he needs to RUN hard, not slow the play down and allow the opposition to set up their defence.

NON-MFC: Round 22, 2022
Unbelievable. These umpires havenāt paid one!

Got what he deservedā¦ā¦
Langdon had the last laugh - he got up smiling. Donāt know if it was real or forced but it would have given them the sā¦s. BTW great to see how the team consistently got right into Cox after his dog act on Max.

Forward Half Concerns
Itās true that we very badly need a centre half forward. I certainly didnāt recognise how important TMAC was and I donāt think many people did. And I donāt see there is any chance of getting him back this year ā he would be too underdone, even when he gets fit. so although I have been against bringing JVR in, perhaps we need to try. To my mind, the other important thing to do is to get Ben Brown to stay in the goal square near it. He tries really hard and holds some good marks around the wing area, but his ground play is absolutely terrible ā after all, itās certainly not what he is expected to do ā and if he stayed in the forward area, we would always have someone to kick to. No doubt the fullback would try to run off him but once the ball was kicked to BBB alone in the forward line a couple of times, the fullback would know that he has to guard him constantly. But then we would have a 1:1 in the forward line which always favours the attacking team.

TEAMS: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Good team but I would have liked Harmes back in

COACHES VOTES: Round 20, 2022
Of all the other ācontendersā for the title, Touk Miller is the one I begrudge the least. He is their Jack Viney And you canāt help but admire him.

CASEY: Rd 19 vs Northern Bullants
Just looking at that confirms what I said in an earlier post: he is still a boy and you canāt play him against men. There is no muscle definition in his arms and shoulders. Play him in the firsts and his development will be set back years.

CASEY: Rd 19 vs Northern Bullants
Obviously some people donāt remember Jack Wattsā debut. JVR needs to be treated patiently.

CASEY: Rd 19 vs Northern Bullants
For goodnessā sake! This is the twos! And against the bottom team! Whenever we have tried Bedford or Chandler or even Dunstan in the firsts they have struggled. I hope as much as anyone that JVR will become a good player but at the moment, he is a boy and playing him against men would be a disaster.

TEAMS: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
Well, Petty did actually.

TEAMS: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
Gee, Tomlinson is stiff.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Any discussion of trading him for just picks is mad. With a pick, what you hope to get, in your dreams, is a player like him, and there is a very good chance you wonāt get it. He should only be traded for an established good player together with a high pick. He is a former pick 3, a winner of Rising Star, and a premiership player. We trade him for picks????!!!??

My 3 word player analysis V Bulldogs
Anyone would think we lost to North by 100 points. We lost to one of last years grand finalists who played out of their skins, after we had them under control for most of the game.
-
Team first - for certain a goal
Yep. Things like this thread possibly cost us the game. His role is to kick goals.

POSTGAME : Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
Yes. Petty was mostly on JUH.

NON-MFC: Round 19, 2022
Pretty obvious that when Geelong get worried they go back to their rubbish chip kick game. We need to remember that.
-
Farewell Luke Jackson
I canāt believe that anyone can think of swapping him just for draft picks. A draft pick is the possibility of getting a good player; Jackson is proven as a player, his attitude is established and so is his physical durability. He can only be replaced by an established star. Plenty of top draft picks have failed. Of course we remember the draft picks that succeed; the failures are forgotten as they were of forgettable players.

Daisy's commentary
I agree that Kelli is terrible. She chooses to screech in Strine, one cliche after another. On the other hand, I have previously started to separate threads, at times, about how good Daisy is. I am still cross at the club for letting her go to Geelong as a coach when they should have kept her here. Rex Hunt is an old fool, was a terrible commentator who was unlistenable, and I have always assumed his name is rhyming slang.

Team first - for certain a goal
Isnāt it possible that he has been instructed, as a key goalkicking forward, that he should be the one taking the shot whenever he has a realistic chance? Rather than passing the ball and taking the risk of it being over used? Also, with one of the opportunities against Geelong, he was clearly the closest person to goal, and I donāt think he even saw that there was another Melbourne player who he could pass to; I think he was entitled to take the shot.

The Run Home
If we only win one more we wouldnāt deserve to be in the finals and would lose in the first week. I have faith. I think we will win all the remaining games .

CHANGES: Rd 18 vs Port Adelaide
Whoever would have thought that we would miss TMac so badly?

What They Are Saying at Moorabool Street
I truly believe the best matchup for Cameron is Hibberd.
-
CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Geelong
Personally, I think Hibbo would be a better man for Cameron. Cameron is more of a running mobile player than a contested mark; Hibbo would destroy him.
-
TEAMS: Rd 16 vs Adelaide
Totally against the thought of Mitch Brown coming in, no matter what the situation. He has NO physical presence which is why he consistently fails at AFL level. And as a ruckman it would be even worse. Get Gus to do it - he has done everything elseā¦š

VOTES: Rd 15 vs Brisbane
Maybe not worth a vote, but Hibberds blanketing of Charlie Cameron was outstanding.
