The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
Most of the money the club will raise will come from the wealthiest supporters, probably less than 35 people. They’ll want to see the plan. No one who’s serious is giving money to a club that is financially sound unless we’re ready to go at site. The money will come, the problem is securing the site.

Except the council isn’t interested in us using the site but knock yourself out.

Nowhere does it state the plan is dead. Personally I think the money is the least of the clubs problems.

Time to go Goody?
Of everyone calling for Goodwin to go does anyone know who’s available to replace him? I can’t help but think we’re undermanned in the assistant coaching department. If we were serious our next coach would either already be at the club or earmarked to come for next year. Chaplin must be a possibility as he is highly regarded but there must be a host of others. I don’t want any of Longmire, Simpson or Buckley, as football managers, yes but not as coach. We need the next 8-10 year coach who can reshape the way we go about it. I wouldn’t let Petracca, Oliver and Viney play midfield minutes together. We’re not improving if we keep doing that. Our list isn’t miles off it but some big decisions are coming around the coaches.

C’mon Big Fella!!- The List Manager Tim Lamb
With Tassie coming in no one’s giving us top 10 picks for our future firsts. We’re going to need to trade out some existing talent.- The List Manager Tim Lamb
The reality is we need to bring it more good ball users. Someone has to be traded to make this happen. Or we start 2026 with the same list?- The List Manager Tim Lamb
We’re no chance to get 6 good players in one off season, we’ll need to be aggressive just to get 2 ready to go types. I’m not expecting anything from White for 3-4 years and Sinnema is clearly wait and see. I think we have a good enough list we just need to change some positions and add a couple of good ball users.- Time to go Goody?
The main offenders are Petracca, Oliver and Viney, let’s finish the season with only one of them in the middle at a time.- The List Manager Tim Lamb
We don’t need 6 new players! We need White, Sinnema and 2 good disposers of the ball who don’t [censored] the bed in traffic.- Time to go Goody?
How many tall defenders do we actually need? Bowey is playing the best footy of his career and you want to move him? I’d replace May with Petty Howes to HF feels right to me We have to give Jefferson and JVR the rest of the season together. I’d play Howes, Chandler, Viney and Petracca all forward. I’d then run Langford, Lindsay, Windsor, Oliver and Pickett through the middle, Rivers goes back to HB and Salem and May go out of the team. Sestan, Laurie and perhaps Brown get a month to show something. As much as I hate team sheets here’s this weeks. Bowey Petty McVee Rivers Turner Lever Langdon Oliver Windsor Howes JVR Chandler Viney Jefferson Petracca Gawn Langford Pickett Lindsay Sparrow Tholstrup Fritsch Laurie/Culley/Brown/Sestan/Adams/ Melksham Let’s hope White chooses us, Sinnema turns out well and we can trade/draft 2 solid kickers who are game ready. I see little point in playing the butchers through the middle for one more week- The List Manager Tim Lamb
We’re going to finish bottom 6, if he’s genuinely on the Victorian market he’ll end up at Collingwood or Geelong.- The List Manager Tim Lamb
Whispers he’s coming to us? I thought he was heading home to SA?- Welcome to Demonland: Kalani White

I’d put Rivers in a deal for a strong pick or part of a trade. I’m not that keen on draft picks outside the top 6-8. I’d love to see us attract a Bergman type player, I believe Lord is a possibility although I’m not sure he’s what we need. I want 2, 23-25 year olds who are strong and can kick. I’d like to hang on to JVR unless the deal is compelling. The others I’d be happy to trade are Oliver, Petracca, Sparrow, Lever and then any of the VFL players if there’s any market. Originally I wanted to keep Oliver and Petracca, both of whom have worked incredibly hard with some excellent support from the club, however their disposal is just too much of a liability now. The question is how brave will the club be?- Time to go Goody?
Personally I’d prefer Goodwin over Buckley. If we’re to change coach get the best and most accomplished assistant and get Simpson in as Football Manager. Then bring in someone like Leppitsch. Our list is far from bottom 4. Goodwin has had his time and he must know he’s not coaching beyond 26. Feels like time to step down as I don’t reckon we’ll be sacking him.- The List Manager Tim Lamb
Agreed, we have to be bold. How that pans out will decide next year. I still believe we’re comfortably a top 6 team with the right tweaks.- Media Madness
Petracca has definitely changed the way he plays. There was a moment on the far wing when I think Sparrow scrambled a handball toward Trac through a mill of players. Trac notices movement and hesitates at which point Butters flys through and grabs the ball in front of a flat footed and wary Petracca. I’m all for him not backing into packs but he had to go harder at the ball and contest. It’s a worry.- The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
Whilst I’m in the believe it when I see it camp I’m not feeling the need to take continual pot shots at the club until we get confirmation one way or the other.- PREGAME: Rd 1 6 vs Gold Coast
I accessed the cameras in your apartment.- The New Home Base & Training Ground Thread
I’ve always been in the I’ll believe it when I see it camp. The business case was due now and I see that’s changed to end of year. Not happy Jan!- Max Gawn shanks left - AGAIN
He also walks directly toward the right point post. It’s amateurish, walk straight toward the target, hold the ball steady and kick through it. It ain’t that hard particularly from 30m- Time to go Goody?
I’m just pointing out that it’s not all bad. Incredibly disappointing that we have gone backwards at goal kicking and the same problems still exist but they are absolutely fixable. I’m leaning toward new coach but think that’s unlikely this year. - PREGAME: Rd 1 6 vs Gold Coast
