  1. I have it on good authority that Petracca’s parents rating as “Difficult” is an understatement
  2. Does Justin Leppitisch want to be a senior coach again, I thought he didn't?

Our onfield form does not mean we are falling apart internally. I'm going to watch with interest the next few months. Some fairly big inclusions and changes appear imminent and it'll say a lot about the club how these changes are handled. Take the Demonland route of burn it to the ground and run around arms flapping or calmly and methodically make the necessary change. The club is under pressure but most of that pressure will be internal, no one wants to be in this position but here we are, now let's put our big boy pants on and get to work.

This is becoming a pile on from these lesser journalists, if you'd even call them that. Can they pull up Richmond's attendances this year? We are not in limbo. We have a well organised transition in place from Brad Green to Steve Smith and our finalising our search for a CEO. We are as close to a home base as we have been for 50 years. Yes our football is terrible atm but our list is in pretty good shape, Trac has just committed to the club and we may even keep Kozz. Our biggest weakness for mine is our coaching department and I'll guess we see substantial change on that front this year. The Dee's remain a strong BUY for mine.
  5. No to Longmire as coach, yes as Football Director.
  6. Steve Smith might well support Melbourne but his level of professionalism is exactly what the club needs, same can be said of Alistair Nicholson. The rest can go. Beveridge is an interesting candidate but he won’t be alone in the queue
  7. If he wins us a flag I don’t care if we miss finals
  8. I’m in.
  9. Exactly. We needed to clean up going inside 50 not throw the baby out. Get some better users on the outside and let the grunts do what they do. It’s a staggering misstep by the club and that’s on the coaches. Finals football is all that matters and that was our one wood bar our last kick inside 50. Now we’re muppets all over the ground.

FFS, we’re being well served by an experienced operator who is our acting CEO. It’s not uncommon to take a lengthy period of time to find a new CEO. It only looks bad because we are unexpectedly poor on the field.

It was implied on a report that it was done but you may well be right
  12. We fumble a lot

No idea, it’s been alluded to in the media the last few days that an announcement is pending. I have no inside source.

Word is we’ve got a CEO. Announcement pending.
  15. Why do our forwards lead to the square rather than at the ball carrier? Why are we expecting JVR to be the sole key forward and back up ruck in a game we really had to win? Why can't we fire a shot in the last quarter? Why when the clock is ticking in the last do we guard grass and let Essendon play keepings off? May is fast becoming a liability. Gawn is fading before our eyes yet we have zero backup. Windsor is a wingman. How many more losses until we rip the bandaid off?
  16. They can have him cheap, just get him and Oliver off the books. If those 2 net us picks 9 and 10 I'll be happy enough. Both have played a solid part in our demise.
  17. In: Turner, McVee, Tholstrup Out: Henderson, Sharp, Melksham
  18. Who’s Prasad and is he ours?

There’s better analysts of tactics on here than me, can anyone on here seriously tell me that our current plan has any hope of working.

The Goodwin era looks done. I honestly can’t see us beating Richmond atm. If we lose that I think he needs to fall on his sword. For mine the worst part of last night was watching us guard grass in the last quarter while Essendon just chipped it around to each other. There’s no dare, there’s no ability to run. There’s no discernible plan, we look so lost. Personally I think we tire because we chase opposition all game. Freo will absolutely belt us. Could start getting very ugly if it hasn’t already. In what world are forwards trained to lead back to the square? Then when they do they don’t check the back man running back and then try and mark, very low percentage effort. Can we actually afford to allow this to continue? Currently we’ll finish second bottom and have pick 20 odd.
  21. Personally I think going smaller makes sense. We need players who can run, tackle and harass to both move the ball better and create contest forward of centre. Seriously what could be worse than the last few weeks?

Put it this way, if the team wins a few, doesn’t get belted week in and week out, we see a few improvements then for mine he stays. If we start getting belted and the players start getting restless then he may need to be earlier. I don’t see this happening. I don’t think the club can sack Goodwin when we do t have a CEO, nor do I think you sack the coach mid season unless we really spiral which I don’t think we’ll do. What I think will happen is we’ll start winning a few games, McVee, Windsor, Lindsay, Langford, Pickett and a few others will get the game plan closer to what we’re chasing and we’ll miss finals by a similar amount to last year. Goodwin will step down and we’ll get a new coach.

Jeez, it started as a conversation but it doesn't take long for the lynch mob to ride into town. He deserves 6-8 weeks to see what he and the team can achieve and unless the team really spirals he should be supported through the rest of the year. By spiral I mean a series of 80 plus beltings. I'll admit I've waived on this, thinking we should just rip the bandaid off but really that just makes us look like reactionary amateurs. At the end of the season I think it's likely we'll see a new coach and we can part ways with Goodwin respectfully as adults, he's our best performed coach in 60 years. If we want to be a serious club this is how you do it. Look at how the Swans did it, that's the template although I'd like a coach from outside the club.
  24. Why isn't he fit enough?
  25. I believe we just play soccer at training these days 😊
