I’d love Davis at the club but think he’s pretty settled in Sydney

Apparently Nigel Lappin is also good but Leppitsch is the one we want as assistant.

Sure but I think JVR, Jefferson, Turner and AJ are all ahead of him. I would however give Fritsch, Viney, Sharp and Henderson a spell.
  4. Pretty sure we just have a laugh and kick a soccer ball around 🤪🤪

I’m sorry to say people, Fullarton is not the answer. Turner, Jefferson and JVR should all be playing ahead of him unless he actually bangs the door down. A polite knock from a guy who is still a step below AFL won’t get him a game and nor it should. Not selecting him yet is selection integrity.
  6. I'm going to presume May is out. I think we've got to play Petty on Treacy and Adams on Amiss, we may even need to play Turner back. Forward, JVR needs help and currently that's Jefferson, Fullarton or AJ. I'd go with 2 of them to help JVR, I don't actually care which 2 as long as they bring effort and intensity at the ball and the ball carrier. McVee and Tholstrup have to come in as they are better than the alternatives. OUT: May, Henderson, Sharp, Viney, Sparrow IN: Turner, AJ, Jefferson, McVee, Tholstrup Clearly there's not a chance we will make this many changes so I'd suggest Viney and Sparrow stay in and Tholstrup and Jefferson/AJ stay out. Personally I'd play Tholstrup ahead of both Viney and Sparrow atm. This game could get very ugly. if we play like we did against the Bombers it'll be 80 points plus and the pressure on the club and Goodwin will grow. If by a miracle we win I'll party like it's 1987, in all honesty I can't see us getting within 10 goals but I'll be heading in with a glimmer of hope attached.
  7. Also won’t happen as it will give us less chance to get within 60 points
  8. If we had a Robbie Flower running around so we at least have a reason to go to the football, I guess that would be exciting. As each day passes it’s starting to feel more and more like we’re back down here for awhile.
  9. The problem is 2fold though. Sure we need to bring some serious effort but if our forward entries are more of the same Freo will have a field day from the back half.

It’s irrelevant what North did, we should have held the line. He was contracted anyway.
  11. I just got my 15 year old daughter to love the footy. We’re going on Saturday so we better see some decent effort.
  12. Jeez I dislike being ordinary so soon after climbing to the top. For mine it’s an indictment on the whole club and everyone in it. We simply shouldn’t be where we are. Fremantle will very likely belt us on our home turf with 15-16 Premiership players and several high draft picks. That’s simply embarrassing.
  13. Can we take him as a father son this year?

Getting the mids to look laterally and the forwards to lead at the carrier really shouldn’t be that hard.
  15. There’s no way Freo are giving up Treacy or Amiss, it’s just not happening. They don’t have the capital for Koz so we should hold him for at least another year.

I fear not much will change until we secure a new coach. To me it looks like we’ve thrown out the baby with the bat water
  17. I'm not sure we can expect Petracca to become a forward/mid when we butcher the ball going into F50, the forwards don't lead, space is ignored and it's kick on your head time.
  18. Petracca should be able to match Dangerfield as he ages and I think he will. Oliver needs to be much fitter in my book but that's just what I see, as for Viney, sheesh he should be playing at Casey.
  19. Against Essendon we just guarded grass in the last and let them chip the ball around. A more ridiculous way to try and win I am yet to see. I doubt it was particularly tiring although I found it very draining.
  20. The coaches need to work on Oliver playing to his strengths. For mine he's not as fit or nearly as damaging as he once was. Personally I don't think the team look hungry and if you ain't hungry you'll eventually starve. Goodwin should of be running players through the VFL. No one should be immune. Ego's need bruising to see who's in for the hard work we need to put in.

Yes however our best players are excellent extractors and I would of thought there was now enough decent runners and kickers to be able to move the ball intelligently into F50. The problem is they are either coached to grab and kick or are simply ignoring other options because the vision shows the options are often there. Viney and Oliver should be flat out banned from kicking and both need to start running harder both ways. With Oliver, Viney, Petracca, Langford extracting and Gawn in the ruck we should be winning clearances and be able to get the ball to the outside. On the weekend we had 16 centre square clearances for a score of 1 point. That's laughable and simply has to be fixed this week. Watching Petracca storm out of the centre and fluff the kick and then watch Essendon run the ball the entire ground to have May drop a sitter and they score seriously made me want to switch to a romcom. We didn't need to drop out contest and defence we just needed to use handball to runners or kicks to open the corridor. It's not that complicated a game but without effort, contest, harassing the opposition and fierce tackling we may as well not show up. You only needed to watch PA thrash Hawthorn to know how to do it.

We were masters at this only 2 seasons ago.

Losing Melksham and Gus and before that Petty didn't help our chances.

I was really nervous going into that game as we hadn't sewn up top 4 and I really thought we were flag bound.
