Which MFC player have you met personally?
I have a great memory to share. In 1989 at Leicester Square London, I was standing behind Hassa Mann in the queue at the half price theatre tickets booth. I said, âExcuse me. Youâre Hassa Mann.â He turned and immediately held out his hand for me to shake and said, âYes, pleased to meet you.â He could easily have thought, oh no, canât a guy have a holiday without being recognised. We had a very good chat while waiting in the queue. Turned out my sister and his wife were good friends and I got to meet them at my sisterâs house a couple of times years later. Itâs a wonderful memory for me because Hassa Mann was one of my favourite players when I was a kid. I also met Ronald Dale a couple of times but neither time was as memorable as meeting the great Hassa Mann.

Fox Footy Pressure Gauge
Sorry, my response was to Binman regarding monopoly.
-
Fox Footy Pressure Gauge
Is that true? Or has Champion Data bought a licence from the AFL? Or is it just that the barriers to entry are too high for competition? What is to stop me from counting kicks etc and publishing them?
-
Fox Footy Pressure Gauge
Um, I think Champion Data is a business. Why would they give away the information they generate?

How do Bulldogs do it?
Did anyone notice when a free was paid to the Dogs and the ball went out of bounds? A Dogs player picked it up over the line and played on. The umpires let them take the advantage. What?!

Football commentary does my head in
How about this one⊠âthey had more numbers at the ballâ?

Thatâs the second time Iâve been censored. Both times for calling BT an idâŠ.!

Football commentary does my head in
How about the commentators suggesting each other for roles at the AFL or clubs? Who will replace Hocking at the AFL⊠You interested, Garry? They need a goal kicking coach⊠Browny? Rooey? Lordo? They need an [censored]⊠BT?

Football commentary does my head in
The cliches, tautologies and superlatives do my head in. All of them⊠âtook it at its highest pointâ (that must be at about 30 m high); âlower the eyesâ. Brayshaw⊠âheâs done brilliantly wellâ Macguire⊠âfantasticâ, âsuperbâ, âbrilliantâ, âsuperstarâ. Plus his shoe-horning into the commentary of anything remotely related to Collingwood.

Umpire Margetts is a bit of a bad-luck charm for Dees
The past is done and nothing changes what has gone before. Probability is about expected future results, so the future expected result is 50:50.

Umpire Margetts is a bit of a bad-luck charm for Dees
Yes there is a law of large numbers but Iâm not sure your interpretation is correct. Itâs like saying that because heads won the last 5 coin tosses, the next is more likely to be tails. The next toss (next game) is independent of the previous tosses (games).

Gloomy outlook for the MFC
I dont want to get into an argument with someone who is obviously so much smarter than me. But my simple view was that the saying is âbull in a china shopâ. If the original poster thought the saying was bull in a Chinese shop, then that was simply through a lack of knowledge. Hence my original question about whether the change was deliberate. But if it was purposely changed to Chinese shop, then that is unnecessarily bringing race into it. And then we saw comments about noodles and chop sticks. If you canât see how this works, then I am sorry. BTW, having a Chinese wife and speaking the language doesnât mean someone isnât racist.
-
Gloomy outlook for the MFC
Who says Iâm an other? Racism is racism. It isnât about whether I am Chinese, or any other race.
-
Gloomy outlook for the MFC
Bull in a china shop has nothing to do with race or nationality. This version is bordering on racist and is such a cliche.
-
Gloomy outlook for the MFC
Thatâs a new take on an old saying. Deliberately?
