TEAMS: Rd 06 vs Richmond
All of our discussion and speculation about Weideman and Brown down the drain. When will the selectors listen to us? ?

CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
13.27 million vaccinated. I’ve had both of my Pfizer shots and my wife has had her first. We’re fortunate to live in a town of 3,500 in the Lot. There are far fewer cases here. But we really can’t go anywhere or do anything. I’d go crazy without the footy. Well, crazier.

Coaches Votes - Max takes the lead
I think all of us would like to think of ourselves as experts. But if we were, we’d be working in the industry. Wouldn’t we all love to have a job at the MFC? Then we could cast votes for the B&F. ?

If We Beat Richmond, I Will.......
Understandably. Thanks administrators.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Yes it does, and always has. Plus, there is no play-on advantage from a mark. Only from a free kick. As soon as you notice the umpire has blown the whistle, but has allowed the advantage, you know for certain the whistle was for a free kick.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Yes, Jackson could easily have scored a goal in that instance. But just to get it right, Jackson attempted to mark in the goal square. He did not take the mark. He was paid a free kick, but the umpire then ruled advantage and Tommy kicked the goal.

Coaches Votes - Max takes the lead
Ah, the old Delphi method. Yes, that works when the group is composed of experts. Not the thoughts of a hundred idiots like us.

That’d be me. Don’t forget Ichabod Mudd (with two Ds).

Coaches Votes - Max takes the lead
I’ve always thought that the coaches votes are the best indication of how the players went. They know better than the umpires and media. (And maybe better than we Demonlanders.) The Brownlow has the prestige, but the AFLCA award is the real deal.

ANB: Average tackles per game: 3.8. Pickett, 3.6. Just saying.

The Tom McDonald dilemma
True!

The Tom McDonald dilemma
Yes, he was. But keep watching. Then when you finish, go to AFL 360 and hear Goodwin mention his name as one of the core group around Max who has helped drive the selfless attitude and standards at the club. Others mentioned were Viney, May and Lever. So ANB is in good company as well as in Goodwin’s good books.

The Tom McDonald dilemma
I think many on here underestimate ANB’s value to the team this year. So I compared these two on the AFL app and see which is the better performer (statistically) this year. ANB easily wins most comparisons, but his disposal efficiency is 65% cf Sparrow’s 68%. However, ANB averages double the disposals. I’d rather 65% of 15.4 than 68% of 7.4.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
I agree. Although I’d rather he be something. ? Seriously, he gets into the right spot to take marks in important positions on the ground. That in itself is great for a 19 year old. Now, he just has to hold more of those marks and kick a bag. Go Dogga!

The Tom McDonald dilemma
The coach had said on more than one occasion - including after today’s match - that Tom is NOT going to play in the back line.

Do you trust Melbourne
I’m doing my best, although there’s always a little doubt. Just thinking about 2020 and 2021, we have beaten Carlton, Gold Coast, Adelaide, North, Collingwood, St Kilda (twice), GWS (twice), Essendon, Freo, Geelong and Hawthorn (twice) for 14 wins out of 22 games. That’s just OK. But we have cause for optimism, because since the loss to Port Adelaide last year, we have won 11 of our last 14. Port Adelaide and Richmond have done better, but I doubt there are many other teams in our situation. (The Bulldogs have won 10 of their last 14.) So, we’re getting there. And so am I.

CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
Wish I’d have seen it. Imagine how another small like Kosi would mesmerise the opposition. Like WC’s Ryan and Rioli did a couple of years ago.

CHANGES: Rd 06 vs Richmond
Interesting. I haven’t seen Bedford this year but he would have to be twice as good as last year to displace Spargo or Jordon because he was miles off AFL standard. That said, if he has improved enough, I look forward to seeing it.
