Closest to the mark...2022 membership total
Somewhere between 1 and 74,000. I’m certain of 1 because I’ve already signed up.

Is Gawn the best player we have ever had?
He’s definitely one of them. But he might soon be behind Petracca, who has many more years to contribute. (With respect to Fritter, I just wish Trac wore the #31.)

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
What a week! I got the all clear from my kidney doctor… kidney function back and dialysis no longer a threat. I sold our house for a profit, which is unheard of in rural France. And, if you hadn’t already heard, MY TEAM WON THE PREMIERSHIP!

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
Agree!

Vale Greg Parke
Remember him fondly in his 26. In fact, he holds our record for games in that number. RIP Greg.

POSTGAME: GRAND FINAL vs Western Bulldogs
We won the Premiership after missing the final the previous year. Surely that’s rare. Does anyone know when that last happened?

GAMEDAY: Grand Final vs Western Bulldogs
Ok, you got me. When I go to the local bar, i wear this Tee shirt and work my way across. (It’s how I get my five fruit and veg per day.) But they don’t have the footy today.

GAMEDAY: Grand Final vs Western Bulldogs
Thé game starts at 11:15 am for me. I’ve never developed a taste for morning alcohol but I’ll start at half time. Here’s the plan… If we’re well in front at half time I’ll have a rosé or three. If it’s very close, I’ll go for white. And if we’re in trouble, red. If we’re so far behind we can’t win it, I’ll opt for Spirytus Vodka.

Never been so nervous in my life!

International Demons
Proving harder than I thought… In 1962, French President Charles de Gaulle asked, "How can you govern a country which has two hundred and forty-six varieties of cheese?" There is immense diversity within each variety of cheese, leading some to claim closer to anywhere between 1,000 to 1,600 distinct types of French cheese. I’m going to need a bigger cheese board.

We’re only 500 km apart! Drop in any time.

International Demons
Bonsoir from France. I don’t think there are other Demon supporters near me, but that hasn’t stopped me from flying the scarf in the car, putting that little membership sticker on the number plate and wearing the MFC cap whenever I go out. Plus I’m wearing the jumper around the house. Big screen awaits. Just need the cheese platter. 😀 Vive les Démons.

Earthquake...a bad omen
I gave our Roomba a pretty solid workout this afternoon.

Earthquake...a bad omen
Didn’t feel a thing in France, other than THE ENTIRE NATION HATING US FOR THE POOR HANDLING OF THE SUBMARINE CONTRACT.

Dark days indeed
Hi DeeDJ. Welcome and thanks for posting the article. Hope you enjoy Demonland as much as I do.

PLAYER RANKINGS
You’ve done good with this, Werridee.

Nathan Jones On The Couch tonight.
Jones was on his best behaviour. Only said “bl00dy” twice this time. Seriously, I have never heard him speak - even in an interview immediately after a game - without him managing to use that word. Not that it’s a bad word, but it must be one of his favourites. 😀

Brownlow Medal 2021
I noticed in previous years there were times when umpires continued to give votes to players after they had become ineligible. I wasn’t able to watch the count this year, so I don’t know if this happened again. But I've always thought that it’s a silly act to waste a vote that could have gone to another worthy recipient. Did anyone notice it this year?

GF Umpires
I thought the same!

Brownlow Final Ladder 2021
Good effort by our boys. Would have loved Clarry to win it, but the coaches’ award is actually a better indication of a player’s value than what the umpires think. The status of the two is the wrong way around.

If the Premiership is ours, where will you celebrate?
Lovely to hear. I wish I could be with my daughters. Haven’t been able to see them for two years.

You’re right. We’re in hiding. Our door bell features pictures of the French and Australian flags. Last week I wanted to swap the Aussie one for a Demons one, but my wife was against it. She’ll be in favour of it now, surely.
