  1. The past is done and nothing changes what has gone before. Probability is about expected future results, so the future expected result is 50:50.
  2. Yes there is a law of large numbers but I’m not sure your interpretation is correct. It’s like saying that because heads won the last 5 coin tosses, the next is more likely to be tails. The next toss (next game) is independent of the previous tosses (games).
  3. I dont want to get into an argument with someone who is obviously so much smarter than me. But my simple view was that the saying is “bull in a china shop”. If the original poster thought the saying was bull in a Chinese shop, then that was simply through a lack of knowledge. Hence my original question about whether the change was deliberate. But if it was purposely changed to Chinese shop, then that is unnecessarily bringing race into it. And then we saw comments about noodles and chop sticks. If you can’t see how this works, then I am sorry. BTW, having a Chinese wife and speaking the language doesn’t mean someone isn’t racist.
  4. Who says I’m an other? Racism is racism. It isn’t about whether I am Chinese, or any other race.
  5. Bull in a china shop has nothing to do with race or nationality. This version is bordering on racist and is such a cliche.
  6. That’s a new take on an old saying. Deliberately?
  7. AND… they brush their teeth with their right hand.
  8. The surnames are movie stars?
  9. You have no idea how happy I am that you didn’t say he took it at its highest point. Thank you, LordTravis
  10. Ok, I admit that was a guess. But right, yes?
  11. A found a few… They all have first names and surnames; They all brush their teeth with their right hand; They all kicked a goal after the siren to win a game in their backyards.
  12. Thanks Jaded. Where did you find that, please?
  13. I’m right there with you, 22. At age 70, I have about 65 years of support for the Demons I can recall. So, after a great first 10 years, my optimism has been beaten down, down and down. But the Demons aren’t the only ones with the form slump. I was seven games clear in my little tipping competition just three weeks ago. Since then I’ve come back to the field, not just with the two Melbourne losses. I’ve found it hard to pick winners at all. I must be too much in synch with this team. Come on boys, snap out of it!
  14. Thanks Rusty. If you just look at the stats you’d think Oliver, Petracca, Harmes - all rated in our top 8 for the day - played well. But I think the midfield let us down badly. Perhaps with the way these stats are compiled we need the midfield to fill out the first four or five places. Not May, Salem, Lever and Rivers. Crucial as those four backs are, the engine room has to do its job.
  15. I hate to say it, but Kozzy needs a rest. Or a rocket.
  16. Umpires: not the reason
  17. Thanks for sharing this. Too bad our club didn’t show respect by wearing black armbands.
  18. 6… Salem 5… T Mac 4… Gawn 3… May 2… Fritsch 1… Lever
  19. Thanks, Joeboy. Some order restored.
  20. An even bigger mystery is how Demonstone finds the time to research/compile the quiz. Good work!
  21. We were exposed when Essendon took the ball through the centre of the ground. Similar to how Adelaide beat us. Other teams will have noticed this and we need to rectify the problem before the GWS game.
  22. 6 May 5 Lever 4 Langdon 3 Salem 2 Petraaca 1 Hunt
  23. I’ve not been well this last week. AND THIS ISN’T HELPING!
