How come a critical error in fact is made then afterwards?

Pre-season Intensity
Agree that flexibility is king and your examples are good and sensible. BUT Tommo was a spare parts player for GWS and we gouncc do that he didn't come up to scratch as a winger. If he recovers or improves his flexibility and paces key defensive post as depth is his for the taking behind May Petty snd Turner or Adams who may need half a season at least because of pre season delays. ( Lever not really a KPD but very valuable interceptor)

Pre-season Intensity
Jnrmac Still haven't answered my question of why if we recruited Hunter snd he is training on the wing we would prefer other "wingers" to him? He prob could play HF flank but no indication so far as wing is his to lose on the training notes.

Pre-season Intensity
Do not agree that Club are just awaiting Tommo to be out if contract. Clubs can't afford to generally cast aside 3 or 4 players as finished as no one knows how good or bad injuries strike. On the contrary Tommo for his part has lost some weight with a view to greater mobility flexibility and pace. All to give himself a chance of returning to AFL more consistently. Unfortunately Goody seems to write players off occasionally ( Lockhart, perhaps Bedford and Chandler last Year ) . Guess we won't know the full story till the end of 2023 but I believe Tommo May even as a depth player perform a part in our season if he recovers more from the ACL this year along with his fitness program. Could be Tmac all over again!!

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
Ever heard about LJ episode. Think it's really that no one was advising him and delayed it because he was scared? Club have Exit interviews every season on the first 3 days after season finish so don't believe the farce you advised! That's before Trade period snd I deny case the MFC presumed in its planning LJ was leaving. Whst snout his Manager ?

Pre-season Intensity
Agree DD but I feel he will be good this year after another season after ACL and more flexible and faster but still only suited to the backline, not the wing.

Pre-season Intensity
Well done Must look to book myself. one of the best games will be the opening night vs Bulldogs who have more players like us to display. Will be a great match worthy of our 2021 clashes. Reslly hope we get a big crowd to all the home blockbusters vs Dogs Swans Tigers Freo Pies Blues Lions and away ones vs Tigers Dons Hawks Saints? And Blues and Swans.

Pre-season Intensity
Pray tell why would we recruit Hunter if Tommo was to go back to the wing? Where will Hunter play ? No I think Tommo will prove handy in the backline With much greater pace flexibility snd run as he is much fitter and lighter hollowing his ACL two years.

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
Really Stigga! Your comment is incomplete and negative. This is the real situation. 2011 -2022 NUMEROUS players leave GC inc. our Great Full Back Maysie. 2011 -2016 MFC lose too many players 2017-2022MFC wins flag 2021 makes Finals 3 times in 5 years with lowest 5 th Loses virtually only L. Jackson who as far back as 2020 when he signed only a ONE year extra as others numerous signed mega deals. GC 2022/2023 lose RANKIN and Anderson signed 4 yr deal! MFC 2022 Gain Grundy and Hunter snd Schache to replenish list. MFC 2023 haven't lost Kossie YET. And you think there is something wrong in a curious comment. Facts please why are we losing any one ?

TRAINING: Friday 27th January 2023
Smooth AS !!!!! We have a bunch of recruits who all may have the potential to bridge the gap Obviously some will and some others may take longer or even miss the boat in'23. But who they are is up for grabs and it is exciting to possibly think of the development potential. Bring it on!

Best 22 for Round 1
Rivers is there snd Brayshaw plus maybe Wowoedin or we might get Kye Turner vis the SSP rule.

Pre-season Intensity
Does not make any sense at all saying we recruited Schache for a high half forward role. We need pace on our FOrward Flanks like Chandler or ANB Kossie etc. not tall slower players to compete with our forwards already in Tmac BBB JVR or the resting ruckman or Schache in a KPF or forward pocket.

Best 22 for Round 1
Surely in our list there is a small defender of skill and ability. Maybe Laurie or even Chandler or Trent Burgoyne. Still blame Goody for giving up on Jay Lockhart . Reckon if Choco and Yze were here a bit more of what if he could be or do than his mistakes which were mostly changeable or removable. Gave up on JL after that Bulldog loss at Metricon where the run from defence in the last half saw that we were powerless to stop their momentum. We would possibly have an AFL player in defence replacing Lord Nev now. Are we going to see this happen again with (Toby B ) or even Chandler ?Laurie? Any other players Bowser or is he too good off HBack.

Daisy Pearce calls time on a stellar career
It might help if you spelt her name correctly for a start. That might get you a modicum of respect before your opinions are read DB. "most of the footy public" that understands and values AFLW as an addition to the entertainment and sporting landscape in Australia would be far more than you are estimating that haven't seen Daisy play. That's live or on TV or Kayo or streamlining etc. And Daisy has been in the footy limelight for a decade ago least now. To filly understand her contribution you are commentating without her most valuable asset. It's like only reading about a PM but not hearing them speak in public. I am not sure the traditional MFC supporter has anywhere nearly embraced the AFLW ( even though we have had the advantage of the greatest modern player/ developer/ commentator ) in our Club as a serious code for Club serious support. The comments about the women's game standard, from some to refusing to watch the Finals, for really very petty reasons, to saying it is not elite are indications of either gender bias, a scare of it becoming too popular as indicated in its growth in its first 7 seasons or a still much more populous view generated that women's sport is not as watchable as men's as a contest at this stage of various codes development. Thankfully TV etc has moved ahead of much of this potential pettiness and force feeding of major female codes has already commenced for trajics or indeed cynics to make their choice.

Daisy Pearce calls time on a stellar career
Fantastic record on and off the field. A Demon legend who will return and continue her legacy in the future. All the best in your career and family future Daisy. Fitting retiring from playing with that Premiership Cup and medallion. 🏆❤️💙Come back in the future and Coach the Dees to another flag in either Ladies or Men's.

Don't think he was that cautious. Simply said he is good and is not overdoing it to risk any situation at this stage. But plenty of work going into training and nearing peak would also be an appropriate comment.

Totally agree with you Lord Nev. To try nothing was admitting defeat really and it came back to bite us in September.

TRAINING: Friday 13th January 2023
Rjay yes it's the easiest answer no one was ready but I believe that was a cop out and established that in my post, Not one player seemed to be at Casey as a possible recruit to be given a real chance to mdjd the grade even when we played unfit players and were fading in third and fourth quarters. Surely a player of equal ability on form who was fit eg Chandler over say ANB or Spargs could have been tried. No attempt was made to solve the problem and to do nothing was not to attempt change!!! Thst why we didn't have any players improve for the AFL by the season end except forJVR. We need st least 6 players this year to Make up for.

Best 22 for Round 1
I am reasonably happy with that but Chandler instead of Hibberd ( if unfit especially )
