  1. That's the ONE BIG weakness with Robbie excitement machine and all if he didn't mark it we never had the small forwards to capitalise on the crumbs. !! He never mopped up his own mess in other words also.
  2. Yes and just as LM is in a casual conversation not highlighting or emphasising the major reason for the transfer. I would not have known this unless LM told me!!!
  3. No never DZ This is a potential Mile Long category A list with multiple options for all positions which we must be extremely grateful to JT and his team over the last 5/7 years. CHF has not missed much in his excellent summary but I think the following is also possible with the current and developing footballers.! Tmac can also be used in defence on a given match day period or moved into as more permanent if required due to injury or form issues. Petty can be a KP Forward on the same exchange basis as Tmac as a back. JVR is a great prospect also for KPF or KPB. Blake Howes has been recruited as a winger as has Fraser Rosman but both as CHF indicated can play up forwardalso if need be. ANB I still regard as a forward but by gee his GF best ever game showed how good he can be as an outside mid. He also (as Spargo does ) marked in defence in Q3 when we were under surge from constant Bulldog attacks. Any of our small mediums and new recruits could be versatile as HB or HF or if they develop wheels and tank on ballers. Riv is one and Kossie is another of our established stars. Salo can play on wing and on ball I reckon but why move him when he is elite ! Same with Bowser. Laurie may have unlimited potential also got great versatility I suspect. Also I believe Maxy is a genuine back or forward resting Ruck now who had the Dogs defenders attracted like a moth to a flame from the 3rd quarter halfway snd all our attackers just cashed in as a result. Down back is not much different. Dogga is a star wherever he plays on the field and no one minds him!! Such are our moving parts we have many options to utilise in the next half decade and beyond .
  4. In between the seasons when Melb allowed Travis to go to Brisbane I ran into The former great Brisbane three peat premiership Coach ( I had a Visible Melb FC car sticker ) at a suburban parking area in Brisbane and in my ensuing discussion was told that Travis had a tested to a code 2 positive ranking and that was the major reason for his transfer from Melbourne. WJ has very good inside knowledge on all our best 50 players as his excellent post has resulted. Can't wait for his judgement of our best 20 next week. Incidentally I was at the G in 2002 at that semi final loss vs Crows and Travis was magnificent in that game as was he in the elimination Final the week before in our win over the Kangaroos.
  5. I also was a patron and MFC member who visited all grounds from the 60's on. Yes it was good for those days but we have moved on. Much rather have the product today ie our 2021 product than 1970's!!!!
  6. He will be handled in accordance with his potential and our needs. No one can predict how long he will wait until his debut. My inclination is that if he shows the same promise as Our 2019 trio or as Jake Bowey he will be selected on his merits and AFL opportunity. More likely to be an Aaron Norton type than Marra Ugle-Hagan I suspect. But won't have to find his marks all outside the 50m line and on the wing!!
  7. Johnstone was a centreman I believe rather than on a wing !
  8. Yes just thought of him (Yze) reading Maxy's book!!! See my post above. Delete Jamar also.
  9. One missing is Ooze Yze our master midfield coach who had enormous skills.
  10. Don't understand why but good luck to the Renegades Cam Boyce who did a double hatrick yesterday.
  11. Yes really What about the character our players showed all last season ? very hard to please H !!!
  12. Agree Tmac may even be a politician for his country region where he lived Edenhope !!!
  13. Agree with AJ I think WJ said at the start he didn't pick Big Carl ! Any one remember? I can't recall all that way back.
  14. Doesn't have to name another wingman in top 20. It's not a complete team but no but no doubt we will all have our go on that one. Reckon Stretch Sylvia maybe James Mac and possibly Stephen Febey could be a bit high. Reckon T Mac might be a bit low and Lingers is not in out top 20 Reckon Lingers will stand up well in our Top5 wingers from 1972 in a couple of years. Maysie is high snd really has only put together 2 years of great footy and hard to place in longevity compared with Stephen Smith as a longer term defender who undoubtedly was hampered by hamstring injuries for the last half of his career. Reckon we could almost pick the next 20 players but the order??? Stynes Todd and Jack Viney Robbie Flower Jeff White Mark Jamar??? Greg Wells Gary Hardemann Gary Lyon Whiz Gawny Trac Clarry Gerard Healey Neiter Schwarta Brett Lovett Jonesy. Brian "Wilow" Wilson. I have forgotten at least one other player probably a ruckman or midfielder. Anyone???
  15. Totally agree NS and think that the Pride guernsey is fantastic in design and colour. Also in its meaning. Magnificent and totally blows the Pies token effort to bits.
  16. Adelaide Brisbane Hawthorn and Richmond. You can't count threepeats of Lions and Hawks as two doubles!
  17. Wrong horse backed ones a pedigree the other a speedy sprinter !!
  18. Sorry I am inner city south in Brisbane !!!
  19. Just took my 2019 and 2020 Demon scarves off the front walkway and drive side balcony this week. Still to finalise the in door photos and memorabilia.
  20. I am presuming you regard Tayla Harris as a plus dl4e as IMO she will along with the improvement of most of the newer and younger girls plus If we can get Our Geelong recruit Purcell on the park early enough will make our forward and attacking moves far more potent and our scoring shots more accurate. Just look at BBB in the AFL and his influence and it's going to take a very good team to stop our girls with their strong and aggressive game plan and multi faceted options to score. Casey Fields is such a fortress now and no reason for that not to keep on happening.
  21. Well that's a whole new game with some ovv TV those changes you favour FT. SOME will NEVER BE PART of AFL thankfully and are: 1. Throwing the ball away when correctly tackled does not reward the tackler and it's not part of Aussie Rules to introduce throwing the ball. 2. Reducing to 16. Seems like a good idea but we through our superb wingers can see the skill in their position say like Lingers who is unique and also a differing skill role by Angus superbly and courageously performed in the GF. Maybe a forward/back pocket like the AFLW could work but let's leave it while we have 30 plus good players!!! Fir so long we had 12/15 and struggled NOW we have more and better players on our list so don't fix anything if it's not broke. 3. Ball ups on the 15 metre line after a rushed behind will cause far too much more congestion. Not needed the rushed behind it has been sorted only SOME players need to learn the rules. Another skill our defence is so good at clearing or nullifying our opponents Don't meddle with it It ain't broke. CHANGE To last possession over boundary is fine like AFLW but not inside the 50m arc. LEAVE THE SAME BUT INTERPRET QUICKER. Holding the ball which is intended now to be a lot quicker ie not 2by 360 degree rotations but one or deemed prior opportunity far more strictly along with no genuine effort to keep the game moving. Actually one of the annoying things with AFLW is that so often the girls just curl up and hold the ball either standing or on the ground and make no effort to move the ball on. This results in about 10/12 ball ups each quarter FAR tOO MANY. Penalise the ball holders and the game will flow more. It's just lack of skill and a blight on the game!! Holding the ball and tackling are and always have been open to interpretation and the AFL are by these changes looking to solve the non decision and fastening the game so let's see how they go this year !! So really just add the intended holding the ball/ tackling rules judgements and time wasting plus maybe the last possession rule and that all that is needed to change. The other changes are too great for the fabric of the game and if played correctly are a bonus not a negative on the game. ie if it ain't broke don't fix it!!!
  22. You have ignored the fact that Richmond lost nearly all the games that Martin missed at the end if the Year say 8 out of 10. Yes Martin was not at his best in 2021 but my point is that The Tigers were lost without him much more than earlier in the year.
  23. Was not Rosman. Don't fret. Do you think Maxy or Clarry would look much good in the AFL half time sprint?
