It's Hunt vs Spargo or Spargo vs Bedford really isn't it! Not sure what Dow is on but he also has a year on contract to go so a mini "Treloar" deal might be needed Gorg. Its only probably fantasy talk as this is my post only re Dow not much excitement but we need pace and outside run badly IMO.

Not so sure LH Reckon 27 is Grundy's to Pies snd we are not taking 44 off GWS yet for Toby. Still have 52 from WC For flexibility to repay back in a deal.

2022 NATIONAL DRAFT ORDER AND SELECTIONS 2022
58er replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
JC you don't understand the difference Betw Draft points vs Draft pick No's. Thsnk goodness JT and Crew do. -
Name some outside Mids ( other than draftees) who are avslisble in trade at the moment than WSWS. Realise finishing is very important but the ability to get the ball and run is also super important!

Not correct it's about his availability so far to play or play with injury of about 66% over 5 seasons and whether thats enough to be able to Captain the team in the future. Many Dees fans have until last September the view that we paid overs for Jake. I believe the Flag justifies both he and Maysie's high picks that enabled us to triumph on that great day. Perhsps another one ( or two) Flags ste needed to convince the still doubters among us!
-
Point made is that his form in2022was nowhere near 2021 which injury had the Final say. Also the 66% game rate is not great for a potential Captain. I like Jake and it's the only reservation about him ever being appointed Captain. Let's hope in the next 2/3 years he raises thst game rate to 85/90% and He would earn the right to lead us onto the field of battle and hold up another AFL Premiership Cup on that day in September.
-
Also Jake missed about 15 games in 2018 (not sure in 2019 but was coming back from ACL) so out of 5 seasons he had a potential 113 games and played approx 80 games minus about 10 this season injured so say 70 injury free ! That's not a great average really day 14 games per season out of ave games of 22 per year. About only 2/3. 66% Cf Clarry and Trac who have missed about 3 each in one more seasons games. 96% plus!! That's what I mean.
-
Not so sure you understood that Jake played about half the later part of this season with injured ankle. That's th reason for his firm drop. Oh snd about 8/10 others were either banged up or come back from injury far too soon snd we're not fully fit Hence the fade outs!! 2023 will have to change Goody playing players with injury !!!!
-
Not so sure if he keeps getting injured !! Like him as Captain but no good injured as often.

I n this situation now I wonder if our FD made any attempt to broker LJ with his family st any time to save a couple of years at MFC. By visiting family with LJ for instance . Or is this too pressurising ? We now have Taj j JVR AMV and Judd McPhee all from WA !!
-
It's part of life I guess but as the two countries you mentioned have assimilated into Australia now for about 70 years this is surely breaking down more and more In time. Will have to leave it to JT !!
-
Take individuals as they are it's like if you refused a player from a certain state or town. It's too subjective unless 2 players are equal IYO.
-
Don't be so picky. Jake had a wonderful 2021 when he was fit and we won theFlag. That's what we bought him and Maysie for. Just back in the vision we had and it's not over yet Jake still has 5 more years probably ( due to fitness) to advance our Trophy Cabinet.

Ungrateful insensitive and illogical icomment Cya (hopefully not ) Good luck Jacko.

Agree well written SONS.

You don't always get the draft pick No that your player is worth. You should know that but it should not inhibit a Club seeking to improve its list. At the end of the day plsyers ste what they do there is no guarantee a draft no will play up to that expectation. Hunty at best was exciting but is without his pace he would you have got over 100 games. I liked him but he dies maje some errors and needed to keep away from the last line of defence as he panicked under that pressure. Good that he will not feel under as much pressure at WC and sorry thst he missed out in 2021 of his premiership chance. A cruel blow but thanks Hunty for some exciting footy snd memories snd good luck for your future.

My take on the recent trade "rumours" especially the Hunt Bedford Harmes and Hunter ones is thst we are preparing for a couple of gettable B graders to assist our outside running and flankers OR one top range A grader to bolster probably our on the call division to make greater use of the Gawn/Grundy ruck dominance Plsyers currently under consideration for trading to enable any swapping or negotiating are Bedford Harmes Hunt snd of course indirectly Jackson. By freeing up all those salaries I estimate about $1.5 m/ $1.7 m would be freed up to pay for Grundy and with his medium/small salary reduction as mooted in The Age today and Pies paying up to $300,000 per season up to $1.25m could be available for three other players one boutique ballwinner and/ or Key Forward position addition plus 1 or 2 draftees commencing on base salaries for 2 years. Another option is to get 2 specifically chosen 22/26 yo's to bolster say a wing and half forward or outside on baller. Possible trade targets available or worth looking at as potentially gettable are Hunter ( Dogs) Narkle ( Cats) one or either Brown bros (Pies) Graham (Tigers) Dow ( Carlton) plus any standouts at the VFL SANFL and WAFL Comps. Calls to Managers of Membrey ( Saints) Bruce ( Dogs) to make a polite enquiry would also be prudent. No A graders ( Hunter with baggage or Graham best ) but remember Stengle !!!. Could Milera ( Crows) or Hunter Clark ( Saints) or Thomas ( Roos) be prized out of their Clubs seeking a change in luck and environment to succeed in. Plenty of others here in the Twos of Clubs like Harmes Bedford or Hunty being squeezed out. Of course our Casey Demons are well Placed to provide potential youngsters to add youth snd new skills to our group in 2033 with another pre season under their belts. Could be way off target here but let's hope JT snd Tim Lamb are not ruling any one out in this crazy period of deals trades drafts and steals. You have got to be in it to win now to reap the rewards from March next year. . it to win it.

Stengle says HI to all you doubters. He was much younger and more consistent with bad behaviours than Lachie. We must get some pace in though in the mids and on some flanks. Please !! Kossie will take some sprinting classes each morning over the Pre Season!
-
Dont you consider Graham or Hunter ready made? Dow not quite so but in the system 3 years at least and has outside run to burn.
-
All I can say is maybe we should be calling either Jack Graham's or Lachie Hunters Manager. Also Paddy Dow for some outside run. Need a ready Made mid who is B or A Grade

Must be the Curse of the CEO Mach?

He recently signed for 2 years with Freo last week. This thread should be closed.

Should be "Even DOW .....
-
Ceres has closed the door on Dow.

Rubbish Even Toumpas would look and perform satisfactorily with Trac Clarry Vines and Gus giving him the ball. Has much more pace and run than Toumpas and would fit in as a runner in our slightly one paced match winning mids brigade.
