  1. In total time yes but in number of VFL games and development I think he has bridged the gap as quick as Judd. He looks every inch an AFL player in his 3 first games just as Judd did from first practice match in 2023.
  2. Really unimpressed with the comments on the Casey Dees and our AFL contingent after the first real match. Going through The players not there and naming Harmesy Dunstan JJ as missing. Get a life they are not our AFL future any more. To keep them on our list was considered and rejected. JJ had a right to go. I reckon every one who has posted has questioned these players ability to be an AFL Player over the last 2/3 years and y to get their long term role at our Club. ONE game in and surprise surprise up bobs their names as date I say it NOT THERE ie missing!!!’ The role of Casey is to feed through players of potential for our AFL and any team success is a BONUS. Experience is the common ingredient missing from most of the 12 AListed who represented Casey from the Dees yesterday. That's why it looked a sort of a shambles plus due to our stuff up in the Finals of over estimating numbers of potential reserves needed for our AFL QF and Semi decimating the Casey team in the Finals and no doubt resulting in a walk out or two. It’s the very good Casey guys that were missed more so yesterday. Now our list of players have not weakened or strengthened their AFL careers as if losing yesterday at all. ONE swallow does not maketh a summer. Woe Kolt Pup Kynan AMW Adams Verrall Tommo Schache MJ KFW and one other are all depth at different stages and promising as well. No vhsnge from yesterday morning. All the better for the run and experience. Fat Tony and of course our resident Mr Negativity Poita have written all of the boys as above as no chance or too this or that. Cool the jets. We only need 4 or 5 to continue to show and improve to be back ups. For 2024 Woe AMW Pup and Kolt plus Tommo ( Disco Sestan as well) are legitimate depth potential who are likely to improve as the season progresses. Thsts what Casey provides. If you have a stronger list with more experience at Casey then you may have a successful team as well. It’s about the players not the team performance that is the most vital for the Dees. Yhe cticism from one poster of Kolt was disgraceful and unnecessary and MJ is a whipping boy of many. Players develop at completely differently levels in underage comps. You don’t throw your son or daughter out if they don’t walk by 10/12 mths and purchase another baby from the state authorities. Calm down snd look at the REAL objective of Casey and the inexperience of most of our depth which is exactly what’s needed st this stage. Howes Duke McVee etc are only a very good example of fast tracked AFL players contributing to our AFL success. There is no doubt thst A couple of others are there nearly as ready but we ate ridiculously impatient and overly judgemental in our expectations. The club is developing nicely at a fair pace as results are showing. It’s not s as instant so show some sense about our projected plans for recruits fgs.
  3. That’s what we got Fullarton for!
  4. That’s what we got Fullarton for!!!
  5. They’re clearly enjoying playing this style of footy. It’s evident it’s starting from the bounce and the joy is first directed through Trac and Clarry etc. We are playing for each other also. No coincidence that BBB and Tmac are at each end of the ground nurturing this love as well. Plenty of help on each line which makes a team effort possible. Long may it continue.
  6. Rubbish he was better playing than running in the VFL practice game. He contributed as did many others for 3 quarters but we ran out of petrol tickets. Humidity was over the top and it was no surprise to see most players benefited from the Round Zero game as they performed at a high level vs Dogs. Max was cooked also by 3/4 time andfrankly outplayed and thought by Brodie. That won’t happen again and Clarry will be at his top in 2024.
  7. Sestan out conc this week. Woe in 23 hopefully.
  8. Well done then congrats. Roost it.
  9. Sorry back to the forward line.!!
  10. Best post you have done Roost it. Some people will not let Harry have a decent go as a forward and simultaneously want to end Tmacs defender reboot back to defence. We are now getting our KPosition players back. Let’s try them out as Goody has trained them ALL summer. Tmac’s form was of no surprise to me. He is a big unit and uses his body well. His disposal was definitely previously a tad off but he is much more experienced now. And if absolutely necessary we can send him forward in a cameo role. Shores up our backline beautifully.
  11. You will eat your words guys. Just give Harry a chance to get match fit.
  12. Kossie is the X factor for short bursts to lift the tempo. Mix things up a bit. That’s when Trac can play there and if we get daring have both of them in the forward line roaming around. Such fun for the oppo defence.
  13. Yes but the counting of numbers is still viable with Membership tickets registering at the turnstile. Each person has to click the turnstile and register GO in green before they gain entrance. Think your theory is not based on the actual entrance to games no matter what style membership or cash based ticket.
  14. Sorry DeeZone never spoil a good footy story with the Truth. The answer is that Kossie flies in the air at times no matter who is around or whatever suits himself and has no such effect on our play. Time for some team discipline for Kossie. Spoils his attempt at high marks nor does he spoil anything other than a marking chance for other players from our team.
  15. You mean the Northern side. ie MCC, Ponsford and Northern (Olympic ) Stand. The Warne Stand was known for being the Southern (or Great Southern) Stand for 80 years plus.
  16. Two things are wrong with your. Comment. Please don’t compare Soccer with AFL. EPL would not even take 44,000 at most grounds a start. And in another day our crowds are over 50,000plus and up to Even80,000 none of those are EPL regular figures. Except at about 3or 4 Clubs ManU Liverpool, Rangers even Newcastle get 52,000 but look at overall averages as well. Secondly your figure of 71, 000 plus members last year is not relevant for the 50,000 we have now. We generally get about 27,000 to 40,000 members and fans Yrestrday say 34,000 and we were 5th BEST last season averaging 47,000 for the MCG home games. Years ago 25,000 would be lucky for Dogs/Demons fans and it is well known Dogs fans do not support MCG games. At best MCC estimated 50,000 which really might have been possible if we had beaten Swans the previous week, BTW 48,000 was the figure for the 2023 1st round game and with our membership about 5,000 less at this stage that’s where this 44,000 sits well. I can say if Melb play the footy like they did yesterday those that don’t like ugly wins will be Back in numbers as members or fair weather patrons. Best footy since 2021 yesterday plus the thrill of Clarry back to his happy cheeky upstanding and tough footy he is a known for and is a champion at. Great crowd response and that’s what mattered IMO. Many more will evolve and understand the full magnitude of his journey too late to appreciate his effort to be ready for footy in2024. Once he steps on that oval he only knows one way and that’s why he will if he can continue on and play as well as he is able he will become even more revered and acclaimed with his present contract. Congrats to all who have been involved in the last few months it has been a mighty effort so far and looks really promising for the future as well. Naturally our window for success is along on this journey as well.
  17. Another negative comment. Again and again no positives.
  18. Really great piece of fantasy. Think about it !! Mo din of a champion clubman and player like Luke D is going to swap Clubs at 20 years of age. Really just because we pluck a name out of the air really have some concrete evidence how are going to persuade Dam NOW to switch. 10 for picking an iron in the fire. NOUGHT for realism and common sense.
  19. Gives us a little better recognition after the Pies assassination. We stood up till our legs ran out of gas.
  20. I am not opining on Tmac vs Tommo really but merely commenting on your criticism of Tmac. I think he will be fine based on his to match form and training. Tommo was not in any way responsible for our loss but like Laurie is a whipping boy at selection. Here’s hoping for a real team effort on Sunday. Go Dees.
  21. Giving up players we need is not the answer. Getting more out of the ones we have is the contract if we wish to be in the flag hunt.
  22. You have to think BIG to aim there. Same with Perty. 75,000 members nearly there Flags from all teams in 4 years. Some fans don’t know how hard it is in the AFL, it is extraordinarily competitive, I hate it when some cans say we don’t get crowds. We are usually in the first half dozen each season now. MCG is a bonus for us we deserve as our home ground for money making. 50,000 plus average was a dream a decade ago.
  23. Well I feel very upset when our champion is not supported from one of our loyal fans. Let’s not take our premiership heroes lightly. We still have a potentially good list and some young talent ready to shine. Sometimes some comments in D/L are crazy and I feel obligated to respond. Not always a considered response. Apologies Smokey if I have offended you.
