  1. He fumbled and had no control over the ball so it was legit.
  2. With a much less robust jaw and face!!
  3. Summing up the AFL was lucky and able to get away with this venue decision but needs to lift its game in decision making for its showpiece event as our President has suggested. In the next footy season and beyond Brighton HomesArena with its 8,000 capacity will be a great AFLW and VFL event day venue plus forLions training. Then it should be with an $80 mill price tag. !!
  4. I attended the GF at Springfield last Sunday and generally had disagreed with the decision for that venue. We all know the rock snd hard place decision the AFL and presumably the AFLW were in both guilty of overlooking the availability of a venue when their showpiece GF event was being held at one of the busiest times of the year for cricket and world Entertainment stars needing ground venues for their Southern Hemisphere Aussie tours prior to Christmas. While the grass surface at Brighton Sports Arena was not as suitable as an older more established surface was to play the Grand Final on the rest of the facilities and ground were opened up and all appeared fine for the even, including the parking areas allocated adjacent and near the ground which is also conveniently located right next to the Springfield Suburban Rail Station. Clearly on advice we were told the grass had only been laid about 4 weeks earlier meaning it had not had much time for its roots to stabilise although it was declared safe for play by AFL inspection and also another testing of the grass stability. In fact the surface looked great and lined in the usual cutting and mowing patterns with sponsors logos etc. As Kate Roffey with the team inspected it on the Sat arvo and realised there would not be much bounce that part of the game was ordered to be removed from the Dees game plan "No Bouncing" being the edict. So very little bounce it was and neither team really missed it except Melissa Bannon not doing one of her 6 bounce for a goal specials.
  5. While respect your opinion and agree to some degree it's the total forward Lind that matters. Tmac Will if fit open the ways for the mids and smalls and JVR is a very crafty player for his weight and size. He is no one trick pony gets goals from different ways and is a team player. BBB May be fit and we have our best furwards in Fritta and Kossie who are kicking nearly 100 goals between themselves. Faster game plan and better passing will assist us I believe Harry Petty should be tried at CHF or FF. We can definitely win the Flag in 2023 as little things didn't go our way in 2022. we have some potential players who may be ready for AFL also. We are one if the teams that can bridge the gap and beat the Cats at our best.
  6. Only 1 year since Bradke delisted not "after years of not making it a proriory".Kyah is this replacement not Verrall. How many years has Verrall played?
  7. That is entirely premature in IMO. We have 3.5 mths prior to 2023. Let's not fuel the fire just because others go earlier!
  8. Paxy is still our best player who is generally ON from the start! Not after 1/4 time and always in the thickest plays to benefit the team. It's usually tough possessions and they look just fine with no panic or risk. Would be still irreplaceable now but halfway into next season development still with Westy Liv Tayla Hanks and some part time mids May change this. But has Karan earned the right to decide for herself when she retires or moves to career betterment ( not possible really) at another Club. We await the next report whether this has any legs.
  9. Thanks a lot KM very helpful.
  10. 1,2,3,or4.!!!!!!! Any other questions? How many Flags will he play in at Melb. ?
  11. Fritta (59) nearly a Normie Fritta (55) 2023??? 60+
  12. Good luck Matt MJ Jeffer etc Can't wait to matches start and see you develop in the miighty Red and Blue. All the best.
  13. Definitely don't rule out MJ being the equal or better than Cadman. They both obviously look like slightly different players but both mighty fine prospects for the next decade and a bit.
  14. Have a feeling Magor is a JT type!
  15. Ta Macca He's in good hands with our mob down back. Love to see a reel playing forward at training or prac match once he settles in at Demonland.
  16. Agree rpfc but great upside In both boys who both look fine footballers with plenty of skill xfactors and appreciation for their respective roles in those very important key positions. Can't wait yo see their improvement under our/Casey system.
  17. That's what I (we) call a highlight reel!!
  18. Thanks Macca. Do you concur with most D/Lers on Jeds future and ability? Better than Davies with his upside? Or even or better than Busslinger?
  19. Completely different to similar recruit in 30's our much loved Harry Petty. I picked Harry out from his first highlights package (for our AFL backline KPD) which featured some great one on one work and tough body contact then kicking and disposing in good style. We all know the result after some injury delays as Petts a premiership player and a mighty fine back man and lieutenant to Maysie and Rick. Reading above a summary of Jed's footy journey last season it highlighted his great value off the field and ability to get the backline in order ( in true May and Lever style). A fast tracker I would say and plenty of team ethos with Disco Jed snd the other AA Backs in the Backline Club. Reckon Riv will find another level with a WA boy there to help. Oh and Jed has already done some cameos up around Full Forward with some success. Remind you of ??? ( Tmac JVR Petty and even S.May!). Exciting times ahead as Casey will provide an early grounding along with pre season for Jed's experience and development from the 2021 Masters of Defence and Coaches. Fascinating to watch!!! Bring it on !!! Welcome Jed.
  20. Jed and the Dees will have the last laugh when ( not if) he finally replaces the great Stephen May as our full back ( or CHB). Wonderful selection with JT written all over it and makes our "battle" with Freo in trade and recruit selection an early success. PS Remember FF Matt Jefferson utilised No 13 our pick from the Dogga trade back to Freo.
  21. Tmac is not 33 ! Just 30 .
  22. So where in highlights do you generally see a fight? Hardly if ever.
  23. Only ONE( 37 ) or 39 as it is of now selection we are going to do tonight and neither Barnett or Keeler will be available at that pick. Have to trade up possibly to be any chance.
  24. If and when you are able Mr Slart can you look specifically at the young 2021 and 2022 class and check if their physical size has improved ( or reduced) and any height improvement. AMW wow what a start to pre season done a lot of work to base his season on and almost a new recruit again but much more AFL ready in size! Players like Laurie D.Smith Taj Van Rooyen Bowey McPhee Disco Riv and Kossie even. For eg. I thought Laurie looked much slimmer in the training photo last week, even though it was a funny angle and not at a completely convincing angle. Thanks.
