Goody clearly stated on the weekend that Salo had had an excellent pre season before his injuries about Round 1 and afterwards. Yes some fitness would be down but not to use your expressions not "half fit or limited game time". Salo would /should have at least 2 Casey games and not be rushed like last year before he was fully fit and ready. He might be available for AFL straight after the bye if 4 weeks is realistic time for resumption in VFL.

Agree but his jumping in the last quarter was not just jump and Hope ( as some of his attempts have been in the previous three games) This was some skilled marking process admittedly no Weitering, Wilkie or Moore in the vicinity. BUT his judgement of the ball in each marking occasion was perfect and he second grabbed brilliantly as well. Can't help feeling there is a recycled Jack Watts in his body waiting to come out and play and an almost star in a Jesse Hogan clone whose next disaster is just around the corner. "Rooy" for his youth has a lot going for himself including fearless physicality, plus a huge mentality upside and a total desire to be the one in the pack that gets/marks the ball. His mind seems perfectly at ease in his environment, anywhere in the 50m arc where he can line up and score. And his greatest asset above all might well be I believe is his effect on the team, opponents and the crowd when he marks. It's not just an ordinary mark it's a 7.5 to 10 in style skill and achievement. It will have great positivity to his teammates, us in the crowd and be a real weapon and promote feel good vibes everywhere. Bring it on Jacob!! His "coming out" on Monday night reminded me of Jesse Hogan introducing himself to the footy world also on the same stage back in 2016. After Wattsy and Hoges I think we now have the right star who will be shining for over a decade under the lights or in the afternoon sun, and hopefully in September rain as well.

No the bigger mistake was keeping your namesake on the list for about 4/5 injury riddled years. Have fans forgotten Tmac kicked 4 goals vs West Coast 2 weeks ago? Agree with one poster who reckons Tmac should be in defence with Casey and with Petty up forward I will predict we will need either Disc or Tmac or even Tommo if we are to be the best defence we can offer. Hibbo can't be our default 3 Rd tall nor really can Rivers. One too old and other is better on the ball team wise.

Class and marking and kicking skill of Matt Jefferson is permanent, form can be indifferent in VFL with a young draftee. Just think of all the other young players at Casey especially this years first year are a work in progress. Look how much more consistent and improved Taj Howes are in their second year and Laurie has become in his third year. The best is yet to come from all these boys as they develop like JVR and Chandler and or improve on the run like Judd McVee has. it's exciting and MattJ is right in the mix but don't expect too much too soon. Patience like with Kade and JVR is the way to go and we will reap our rewards.

Tmac kicked 4 goals 2 weeks ago. Although I don't think it's a bad thing to see if Schache is up to it. His Casey form has been good. Might be the sub.

Scully did that with GWS and from Barrassi to Jacko I would be surprised that it didn't happen with more than 50% of players that left us during that period. In other words it's more the norm and I believe we should take into account on the PRO side of the equation as well and treat the player accordingly. As Ken Hinkley said He is a 19 yo kid!!!
