2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
58er replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
That's not how the talk from all experts has been Davis. JT is too smart to fall for "trading down". No value at all to ruin the compensation for Jacko. Why really is there any reason for a dramatic drop in picks 11-30 to justify a good position for elite talent that is not available every year. We should embrace our first choice just like We have over the last 6/7 years and revel in their ability to help us win another Flag or two. -

Well said no value in trading Down! A no of elite talents are there in the top 15/20 which we shouldn't say no to also. -
Very fair summary but still believe Fritta is totally underrated by many other Clubs fans. He is an A grader IMO and his footy skills are amazing. Look forward to 2023 and him hopefully playing up firward with JVR Tmac BBB Jefferson Kossie and the rest of the gang including Harry Petty!

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

Yes I can't see how going backwards can really help us get the best players Mr Leg. AGree that a 2nd round future added may be handy to boost our 2nd round 37. Bekieve Jefferson is No 1 at 13 (14) and either George or Allan are good gets if we can move up. -
Not sure if you gave any real Psycho quals DN and can judge degrees of confidence or amount of eye contact. Many players change Clubs and Lachie is no different. We have provided the opportunity to better our list and I have faith in the culture and coaching at the Club will enable Lachie to regain his best form and play a very positive role in our 2023 quest to regain our No 1 spot. Brodie and Schachey also will be great for us. Please report back in mid June with your patients!!

Agree BDA The review was shallow and about 3 mins at most highlighting Fritta and his selfishness or similar depending upon your view. Not ONE mention of Grundy Hunter Schache or JVR or our injury handling or effect late in the year or Tmac returning.Useless babble from Johnno and nothing salient from Healey.

Sorry Dees Zone Apology.

But Casey is elite in standard on field and inside facilities and raised our level along with the Coaches to best ever training standards in 2021. Don't underestimate Casey's role as it is MCG in size as well in our Flag.

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

A small downer for George is he won't play much if at all in 2023. But could grow like others in the year off. BTW Jefferson has grown to 195 and put on 6 kegs to 84 now. Looks a shoe in for us at 13 (14) likely and silly not to take him. Chris Cavanagh in HS says we may exchange 13 and 37 for 20 and 26. We are also into Ed Allan from WA a 190 odd cm running versatile who is a taller version of Blake Howes possibly. Makes it all very interesting. -

Why not one of them and Jefferson? Say George and Jefferson ! Forwards if you like a bigger Fritta and Trac 2 if he is a clone. -

There's only ONE Clarry destined for even more greatness. Not mentioned enough and very underrated by opposition supporters. Respect is owing from 17 other Clubs fans! -

Jefferson won't be there for our 2nd pick nor will Gruzewski . It's one or t'other at 13 if we don't rise in draft beforehand. -
Yes but he twice at least "burnt" players that looked bad and selfish. Surely any player should be balanced enough to recognise team play. Kossie can sometimes be a bit goal happy near goals when on angles and not always look to centre the ball or look in that direction. Gets away with it as he can get tight goals others seem to miss though.

It's not our call the AFL might ask our opinion but they decide the GF in the AFLW.

How can you say that? Petty at his age has a wonderful career in store. We should use him best for our team and forward he has a great future. Our great full back could play firward but we are talking a cameo only. We would be so much better with Petty JVR Tmac BBB Fritta Kossie some other small crumbers and resting rucks at times making our forward line varied and strong. It's a team game and we have some options let's use them.

Absolutely the biggest SHIFT necessary for 2023. Do it snd we are with all else back as a real Flag favourite even with Cats starting about 5 goals in front in Round1.
-
Thanks DD Seems a good plan and a good enough reason to consider Barrett. Although I am a Jefferson fan now with all the evidence we can muster. His career and skills are impressive and should develop like Fritta I would think. If course a speedy outside mid would not go astray like Allan from WA if he fell our way.

Stick to Surfing Ir doesn't work like that Grab the best when you can You are assuming there are Going to be 30 /40 Cadmans in 2023 Draft. Not so. 13 for Jefferson does not interfere with any draft choices for next year. Cadman snd Jefferson I don't believe are much apart with Cadman bring more physically developed at this stage. Matthew is a bigger Fritta and is highly regarded and record is not much different toCadman. JVR is also waiting in the wings developing nicely.
-
Rubbish Too much Focus on negatives of players c/f to top5/6 recruits. Part of AFL is developing your picks. We have high coaching standards to accomodate up to top45/40 as has been proved. some develop quicker than others and some are like Clarry ready to go. It's a bit of a lottery really and JT has it under cover from all bases. Don't fret we'll get 2 good additions.
-
Said this in a different fashion last week. JVR was not scrutinised with his life like Matthew is being and it's majorly his physical devopment. Yes needs building up but the prototype must be Fritta whom has developed each year since 2018. And Jeffo will join some very good players in our team and on the forward line. Part of a unit Dees always play best with that part of a team all being responsible and each different. Get him ASAP pick 13 or higher!
