Your Top 5 Demons Players of All Time
And I picked him up on his answer re consistency but he has explained he reckons it was only about kicking which I would accept, but definitely not about his form overall. Clarry is the very model of consistent form for all others to be judged against.

You confirmed what the other poster said re Viney being rushed back In 2022 and not to repeat it with Viney this year.. Looking at Fritta on the news he looks ready but is he underdone snd can he overcome this with his style of game. Agree Might be best to leave to Lions game for Fritta.

But you posted he needed to be more consistent ? That's what I queried? I do agree he is not as damaging generally with his kicking as Trac. But he is elite in most other things.

Lacks Consistency Really ?? So 33 35 29 30 36 27 oh and 24 plus 37 34 disposals averaging more than 30 per season Refer to Clarry's Champion figures if you want to see consistency. G.d help your judgement of other players

Membership Tally 2023
You intervened snd commented on a comment I made to another's post. And made the point about Finals. Aren't I allowed to comment on all of your response. How do you know that Round1 tickets are not good? You haven't got the MFC members who are coming like the old days with their card So you can't estimate them. Or MCC members either same way. I haven't booked because I have my card either. Maybe if you add 20/30,000 MFC to the sales that might improve the numbers, and MCC then!! Cwood are always noisiest at the end when Thayer are on top. In 2017 who made all the noise when Wattsy kicked that famous goal on QB? No the Pies fans. That was the loudest H and A roar from Dees fans I have ever heard. Final prob goals in the Semi vs Cats in 2018. And from support of WA neutrals in Perth on GF day when we kicked goals in the third quarter. I was there!!

Caroline Wilson fancies us this season.
ANB Will only get mid time if he is playing well. He played back to his 2021 form vs Tigers in the prac game.

Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
Watts was ahead of your other failures to compete. He at least had skill to back up what attributes he had.

POSTGAME: Match SIM vs St. Kilda
Vast underestimation of an AA and his skills. He is not generally cumbersome and is quite good below his waist. Also must have been a real off day for Brodie. Remember he is coming off virtually a full season out. Thank goodness he looked good contributing vs Tigers. Hope you agree? . Rivers was injured then rushed back with his bandage on nearly all season last year and has started 2023 with plenty of vigour and speed adapting to his new cameo role on the ball promisingly. Has great potential ( Think Yeo of WC) in this role and his penetrating kicking could be a real weapon. Agree with you re McVee.

Analysis of the Demon’s Forward Line
Far too dismissive of the depth of injury situation of ours against other teams. It got progressively worse each week depending upon our footsteps half. Results show that and it is right little was done to change the situation. That's the reason if we have a fit list all through the year and don't play underdone and not severely injured players we have a great chance in 2023. The addition of Hunter and Brody plus improvement of some and greater fitness of others especially some younger players and also a couple or more Flag heroes will make a big difference. Tmac alone will be a big help.

Membership Tally 2023
I merely picked up on the comment that was our crowds fell off at the end. Not sure 50,000 Pies but we were out numbered for a home game. But the totals were not lower than earlier and IMO what's wrong with counting Finals We had majority by fair way at both.

Dees Miss Out on $1 Million Champion Club Award
Well Luc I can't see how mediocrity is an issue. If you win the McClelland Trophy with both AFL and AFLW counted you need at least big no of wins in one and more than half in the other. it would be good to go back over the last 6 years and check just to see who Was the winner. Don't go for the split up of $400,000 each and $200,000 for the winner. Would be better if $400,000 to the overall winner and $300,000 to each of the Men's and Women's Divisions if this went ahead.

Melbourne Membership Day at SEN
Suspect we may not need it if we win early games vs Dogs Lions Swans and Tigers. But play it again Sam any way!!!

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
Yes that (Gawny) needs to be watched but it's all about the sum of parts and the final result. We have enough parts to mix snd match centred around talls smalls and the best medium hybrid forward in the AFL as he proved in the GF. And Harry Petty should not be discarded or forgotten. Add Joel Smith also.

Analysis of the Demon’s Forward Line
Tmac was a big loss and IMO would/could have got us to the GF I suspect but we never would have beaten the Cats in that shoot out.

Dees Miss Out on $1 Million Champion Club Award
This should be awarded retrospectively for the last 7 years AFLW has been played. Stll give an AFL Minor Premiers award as well. In 2021 we would have won both awards I think. And the combined MClelland Again. in 2022

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
I have a feeling that Brown McVee and Chandler will be in the 23 snd Viney and Fritsch return. Your a bit tough on Tmac who not only got 3 goals always makes it much easier for the smalls and mids to play taller and contribute. Just think Hibbo might have to wait till a form lapse or injury even with Salo sidelined for 5/6 or more maybe. Chandler's only blemish was he did not convert so I think he has good reason to be given the confidence to stay in. Viney if fit will maybe push Harmes to the sub. Very hard to judge team and ordinarily JVR deserves a spot but BBB did enough overall for this game where his height might be crucial. JVR very close though. It's going to be a great game hope 50/60,000 get there ( Doggies fans get to the G your team deserves your support) and I am bullish for us this year but respect Dogs as improvers with height now. Dees by 17 pts.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
"Even though it was only a practice game " the following to me were apparent about Melbourne: 1. Hunter is a first class footballer smart clever persistent plays footy on his terms with composure and his stylish left foot. Seems a great team man and will have the all the members side of the ground to become a Dees fan favourite just like Lingers is on the outer Warne wing. An A grade addition providing valuable running and disposal depth plus scoring potential. 2. Grundy will also provide and bolster our ruck midfield and forward divisions. Is quick on his feet and is quite skilled on the ground. Contrary to perception he can mark down forward. I can only think he is not regarded as a competent resting ruck from his efforts because he has not been asked to play that role much or not at all. In essence he needs a top defender to be minded and providing our forward entries are consistent and quick he is a danger just like all our other talls mids and smalls who in their own right are from A graders to role players to multi skilled and different styles as 2021 proved. Also Brody will provide our defence with marking and blocking assistance. Another A grade team man who knows the game. And will give Maxy at least 2 years more footy in the red and blue. 3. Improvement in game style and form from Spargo Sparrow ANB and Promising effort from Chandler who moves well didn't take his opportunities on the day. McVee is an addition who again looked up to the speed and flow of our game and defensive style as did Woey in a shorter context. Laurie not so much but great for him have a run and knows what is required now to be in AFL contention. 4. Overall fitness looked great and ball movement and game style plan far superior to 2022 late season. All kicked in and it looked smooth and sharp. 5. From Casey Schache and JVR did no harm to their senior aspirations. Josh is a big sized player in the reserves and just needs some good footy basics and a few tricks plus his size to have a decent chance of being a contributor in the Firsts.when yhe time is required. JVR will debut at some round no doubt snd all Dees fans can't wait to see him get his opportunity. Let's hope he is ready and is not overawed that he can't show his ability on the big stage. 6. A very good preseason now for the real thing with Viney Fritta Salem Dunstan and a couple of others fitness to decide when their season will start and where. A List on song and very hungry looking super dangerous and determined to avenge our disappointing and underwhelming flag defence in 2022.
