  1. I am not sure what Jacko did so wrong? I am not reading back into this thread to find the reason you appear to have fixation upon, seeming to be playing when not fit enough ( you may call it injured). Unless you were under a rock from June to September last season more than half the Demons played with niggles, lack of full fitness and/or genuine injuries managed to players we couldn't do without. On that basis nearly all our Premiership heroes would be disgraced and booed by yourself. And after all Jacko last year was a third year player who helped win a drought breaking flag when just a colt who played out of his skin in the GF and some times during 2021 and 2022. Boo if you like but you are crying like a toddler that can't get his preferred toy for Christmas or not able to buy ice cream when being pushed around in a trolley at the supermarket. And his manager made him play? oh please it would have much more likely been our selectors Coach or FD based on the myriad of players that were adjudged fit to play in Rounds 12 to the Semi Final. Never mind Gawndy you were under that rock after all and are sort of excused, but not for booing LJ who is thankfully a 19 yo well performed premiership heroe for us.
  2. Only big news from training is injuries in the middle of the week so let's be real and accept the fluff of which there isn't much after Saturday's very disappointing effort. You have never delivered a positive vibe Old Dee so today was ideal snd thanks for your report it's greatly appreciated.
  3. Disgusting comment. Fail to understand Gus team position today and should have been moved earlier in the day. There were others on big money who failed to impact the play on the day. Despite our lethargy I still believe players try but their energy levels were very low for most of the game except for Clarry after half time etc. as he led the way as usual.
  4. Royal Melb as stated in previous post!!!
  5. No at all see my posts Goody and others are too slow by far. They protects some players and throw the book at others. It's very often your best players need moving as they can cause greater change through their ability. Gary Lyon in commentary got it right about changes. Was quarters ahead and dome did not get the light of day at all. Half time some major belated moves should have been made with Petty and Tmac plus May eas not necessarily on the right player. We tried to protect him being the last defender when he may have played better out from goal. I have never seen him so negative looking. This being him or Lever out spooks each other and gets to Petty and Bowser who also lose confidence. Once this happens most of our one on one defenders are negative. Interestingly McVee still played his natural game. We need a major meeting about our defence it's not as tight as it should be.
  6. BTW any kick is a turnover opp. If you use that strategy you would have no one passing the ball. Please don't use a rash generalisation to overturn team football strategies that are time proven.
  7. Yes agree no player above any other has a licence to just go for goals whenever the ball is in their hands. Team play up forward as as vital to defence and mids. It was mentioned in the commentary as well and the sort of thinking about Fritta was his own doing from burning his teammates last year. Depends what you call team play mate. Also centring the ball is also a top priority from pockets. Amazing how some players find teammates ( like Spargo) and don't burn teammates !
  8. Very disappointing as we had top spot on ladder up for grabs. Panic merchants in defence and too slow to move Tmac and Petty early in game plus agree intensity was the same as the first 3 quarters at the Gabba. Shay is causing it? No Maxy. Still no on field leaders. Coaching clangers keeping moves too late. ? Clarry showed the way after first quarter but too few followed JV tried hard but made no real impression. When we play like this we seem so beatable as players lose their composure and structure. Needs to be a major Coaching discussion about our team habits and out of sorts behaviour.
  9. It's either been changed or you are way off the mark! It's extension correctly in both places.
  10. No one was denied entry. Melb and ESS fans had ample opportunity to purchase tickets once they were on sale. Ultimately due to Port playing the both games made it a sellout. Name any Melb supporters that genuinely missed out ? If they did it was because they were too slow to get tickets once they were on sale. Let's not try to spoil a good story with untruths.
  11. Gawny is not needed till the North game on Sat 29th. Debauched not very observant only 5 days between AnzEve and Round7. But he also forgets that we have a 9 day break also. Let's be consistent Deb?
  12. Agree LT see my post prior also.
  13. Only on the basis say Schache replaces him. Needs to be for another chance to find a forward though not just redoing previous Casey runs.
  14. Not Clarry super effort needed half a dozen with his determination and energy and we nearly would have reeled them in. Another classic case for Tmac in defence and Petty up forward immediately after half time. Goody still hasn't read all the memos on movesGary Lyon was on the ball. JVR needs to temper his marking technique. It's not about disturbing 6 others and hoping the crumbs fall our way BUT him trying to mark properly and the rest happens normally in crumbing and putting real fear into the defenders. Kossie also should be honed in he has tried for 3 years for MOTCentury and hasn't looked like taking one. His job still is crumbing and he is good at it.
  15. Both Kossie and Fritta "burn' our forwards happened about 5 times yesterday Don't look to pass before they slam the ball on their boot. Bit more of Spargo in them needed.
  16. What ????? Wonder if one of our D/L self appointed luminaries ( not Andy he is fine) come down on you Deanox for your extraordinary bizarre post. I won't do it but let's wait and see?
  17. Look up on your phone DD D/Lers are not TV reviewers.
  18. Adams not ready yet but be careful what you wish for.
  19. Agree Picket Fence. Not necessarily at CHF or FF either. MJ could probably play as a half forward flanker in the Fritsch mould. He is a forward with a forwards brain and style of play so is suited to AFL level if he earns his spot in the Casey team with a good performance. Forget all this too light stuff as long as he plays on the flank not against a 1,2or 3 defender.
  20. Don't you like the truth RPFC? A dose every now and again of it helps some people from delusion. Maybe yourself and AF!!
  21. Great News AF. Thanks. You are aware the Hawks have had their location and plans for their Training Facilities/ Administration Centre up and about for about 3 years? Would it have occurred to you that because a primary location or plans have not been announced or finalised that we would not be asking fans/ members for donations yet? Most people like to obtain a certain degree of information about a project before supporting it financially or other ways. Your implied criticism of our Club and Board does not wash as a reason for there being no funding medium set up or established as yet. Of course you could always start the fund rolling by making a $100,000 or plus initial contribution. I have however the alternative view you posted your opinion deliberately to make a mischievous comment which neither helps the funding nor decision making at this stage.
  22. Congratulations Judd. Very well deserved contract extension. Keep up the good form and your pace and skill will be apart of our defence for many years to come. All the very best.
  23. JVR. Has already extended till end of 2025
  24. His great form this year just proves last year rushing him back with his knee bandaged was the wrong move. Different more mature player who is much more composed and skilful now in traffic. Congrats Riv you deserve your contract and all the best for the next 5 years. Plenty of success.!!
  25. You have no idea Bluebeard . The line of the goal and then the line of the padding behind the goal are the two lines they determine the real line. Any touch prior to either of these lines by a player ( either side) results in a point. I can't remember whether there was a before and after touch of either line. All I know is there was precious little time given to the assessment for a reason I cannot understand. The one photo shows it was a goal but others have said there was a touch prior to the padding line indicating a point. Hopefully more care is taken in future. Really we are lucky it appears not to be vital at this stage of the season for us. But still scary the way the AFL run things sometime. And for once the Eagles fans couldn't have cared less and couldn't even boo at all during the game. Long May it continue !!!!
