Look at his record. Doesn’t seem too slow. another idi..ic and typical comment without any sense from yourself. Why contribute and not support the Dees.
-
And who would you suggest that we should have replaced Fritta??? With? Melky if he was fit but wasn’t!!
-
We don’t recruit for Casey. We recruit for AFL Dees players to win flags!!!
-
Kossie never uncommitted it was over blown by the media.
-
If you all read the post about 10 back they have an NGA Lombard ready in the next draft in Nov and 3 other half forwards on list inc. Humphries and Ainsworth. Do our due diligence but he may fit into side as ANB replacement?
-
They are 21 yo most of them and need some opportunities in a much more aggressive game plan.
-
Part of this is due to our contest/defence game plan that puts a damper on aggression and skills of our young players. That’s why Goody surely is on his last legs with his game plan and our development plan from our Coaches which has stalled it seems.
-
Rubbish that would make real difference with Clarry back to his best. We don’t know how well Christian might return yet but here’s hoping. The biggest improvement should come from JVR Turner AMW McVee Windsor Chandler Petty Howes Jefferson Pup and hopefully Adams, Verrall. I believe both Kossie and Fritta can go to another level if some extra work was put into their training and skills and game plans. Both can raise their goals by 10/15 goals per season.
-
Dees won 7 between Blues 1945 and 68 flags though . !!!
-
It’s apparently sailing into Port of Melb for any of the 9 remaining clubs who wish to sail with it!!!
-
At least as good as Chandler in HF role.
-
Dimma disliked him obviously and it’s no reflection on Chol. Earnt his place at Hawks.

While I don’t subscribe to all the glitter you put on JJ’s lady quarter heroic boundary highlight it was a pivotal piece of play. I feel we are just realising it that like it or not the following players we don’t have now on our list have not been replaced or improved upon in our list with various reasons responsible overall. OUT under our control Grundy *Jordon Harmes *Bedford Weideman Hunt Baker *free agency OUTSIDE our total control. Brayshaw Joel Smith. IN Hunter Billings Fullarton MCAdam While not all are like for like or ready replacements our list this year was much weaker in depth as a result of 2022 and 2023 trading and delisting. One can’t help thinking that the killers in this argument were Angus Joel Smith Hunt and Bedford with JJ and Harmes better value also and far more versatile in 2024. Really it’s impossible to think that those 10 points for our 1pt two by 2pts and 5 pt losses to Blues Port GWS and Lions would not have made a difference over the season. But its been our real inability to I feel make the youngsters as being a genuine part ( as against a SUB or spare part) like Bedford and JJ that told against in their no doubt close decisions to leave. Others we have not replaced with superior ability to improve our list and have seen some struggle with no or few AFL games. Msybe the Clubs issues we still are not completely aware of have also proved as was Clarry and Trac most importanty being absent or underdone is also worth those games or two. Not sure our Freo(2) Pies(2) Lions at G, WC Dogs at Marvel and Sydney Zeto round were possible as all were poor performances unlike-any in 2021 to 2023. Trading and Recruiting plus our 2021 culture are the requisite for a big comeback in 2025.

You are absolutely sure Kate stood on the Board on a ticket in 2013 on an invitation to spearhead the Training and Administration base. You do understand that in 2013 we had finished 5 years in the bottom of the ladder, were penniless and in debt plus Jim Stynes had started the rescue act of recovery. Then the base was not a priority as our survival as a Club on the field and our underwhelming on field performances also of major concern. So although you say 11 years That’s not really the full time we started the base seriously as each opportunity within a stones throw to the MCG was discarded by location, green groups and lack of vacant land available. You would be aware of the reasons and circumstances of where we are today with Caulfield. Again the major reason for the delay is the Caulfield intricacies location and State Govt involvement in this area. Do Melb fans want it built without due process and hasty overactive decisions? The State Govt are the chief stakeholder with the MRC and We can’t automatically overrule their processes towards the land usage at the Racecourse. So you know this but like many others are sheeting full blame on our Board for the delay. Kate has been Chair while we have had an extraordinary 3 years of results and building our Club. Yes some of the gloss has started to override our success this year but we still well ahead of 2013 in our situation. Thats what needs attending to in the next 6 mths so 2025 can be a restoration of our on field and off brand. .

Really OD you are not giving McVee and JVR enough chance of improving further as 20/21 yo’s. And Turner if played down back would’be a regular AFL player by now. Being a forward is taking a lot longer but he has shown that he has plenty of skills that could make him successful if given time. Apparently you expect unrealistically 21 yo to be ready made. All of this is perplexing on your rating of Judd McVee who has not put a foot wrong in two seasons and is very much an AFL flanker. Rooy is very solid and needs a far better Coach than Stafford. Let’s wait and see in 2025 as Our youngsters could improve dramatically.

Clubs can’t always pick draftees for now it’s a gamble very often who will take to the AFL system and how long. Whoever thought Windsor or Kossie would fit in virtually from their first games. So who is what we need right now Mr Mach 5? Yes a mid is the most needed with pick 5 but who?

My point about being irrelevant is still made. The Men’s major Finals weekend is never going to be placed 2nd to the AFLW games. The wildcard round will still only have 2 games. AFLW will build and be a great product in conjunction with the AFL but not at its expense. Be real please and understand the tea leaves. Plus 10 teams are free for fans with no hard choice if they want to watch their ladies play. CA don’t put off the BBBL because a Test match is being played.
-
The AFLW is not at this stage able to compete with 4 top exciting AFL Finals. They for this weekend are scheduled around the AFL Finsls ( What all players play for. The women’s draw was sorted out after an AFL scheduling stuff up the Bulldogs pointed out. Those Power and Bulldogs girls will have a great time. And all others will play on the busiest round in the season. Only 2 games for the next Finals weekends and one on GF including a holiday when I bet the AFLW will play. Dont worry if you check the draw for AFLW there are more rounds than weekends resulting on mid week games which will be feast. AFL don’t even do that. The 2,000 who attend the AFLW should be thrilled as the leagues takeover for 2 months then Finals. The AFL only manage the AFLW because if the incompetence of the administration like Nicol Livingstone the in about 5 years didn’t come up with any real pluses got the ladies. It has evolved due to the competitions underneath and young girls of 7/8 previously who have grown up and love the gameie natural development. Have always watched the girls and admire their standard of play and their remarkable spirit of the competition. Long may it continue and grow like the Women’s Cricket has.
-
Irrelevant point in the Wildcard discussions. Has nothing to do with the AFLW draw which is a separate competition still developing at its own pace. And very nicely thank you.

We are not in The business of trading stocks and shares. We are dealing with real live human beings and 18 yo bodies and Minds with special skills. When you get the chance to get a star with no 5 pick take it. By delaying it you are delaying your potential on your list and with the addition of future picks can be two years off the pace. We have nailed our Top 10 or near and under picks for nearly a decade viz. Trac Gus Clarry Jacko Kossie the Duke. Only real failure was the Weid. We need the best mid available (not putting our pick out waiting for potential) strike with the golden opportunity and enjoy the ride and rewards. Do it today not tomorrow who knows what will be there available in the future.
-
Lord Travis get your facts straight Gawn morning decline Has his 7 th AA blazer. Trac. Gone No sir Cpukd be as good as ever in 2025, Apolgies please
-
Sorry some of Mac’s best footy is right up there with Daicos already. He will have a huge impact on Suns results in the future. Yes it’s a travesty about the rules and we have been royally shafted in the Academy game the AFL presided over. We have to move on and best utilise Kalani etc. and our father sons who are available and ours,

Congrats WW I don’t believe Perty should be hung out to dry defending our club. Yes it was a bit exaggerated as best culture in 40 years but we had been attacked from all angles. Kate tried to defend the Club similarly but really did not have the facts for a 20 minute defence almost out of the blue. She realises now that her role of President has been tarnished and by falling virtually on her own sword has smartly turned to the succession plan of a great Demon in Stephen Dmith. Perhaps she should consider ( if SS can align earlier ) to leave more promptly in 2025 to let the Club slightly reset and breathe into a new era, I am not sure about Whether Perty will be damaged enough to remain and most importantly if we can’t raise our game plan to be more exciting and up to 2025 speed then our once Champion team will flounder mid or bottom of the ladder. Too much ability to ruin this last chance of resetting with the younger boys who have come on board. Some creative recruiting and trading is needed also. Goody will be also fighting for his last chance. Once Kate goes he will have lost his main supporter. Lets hope this all can be uplifting and we can all get back to a united front similar to 2021 because there is still 16 players from thst glorious 13 th Flag. However Clubs like Geelongdid in 2011 are bigger than individuals and like them who lost Gary Ablett Jnr we must be realistic that Trac may still look to move on in 2025 as well. Our future is in our own hands with possibly new caretakers who we must embrace for our next successful era. As fans we must get behind our boys and give them their best chance of success. Snd “for Trac’s sake “ let’s all get there in numbers and be a part of our 14th Flag this decade. Go you mighty Dees!!

It’s about time we stopped going for the same style of player we have. It’s obvious we need more skilful finishers and not bulls to round off our forward and mid field. Thst why we can’t get over the line I. Close games and our footy is too chaotic and not skilled enough.

Your overlying statement is that MFC do not care for their members. I resent that and if our crowds fall or membership lessens then they will have to be creative and caring to maintain this pert of the club. There will always be a small number of instances where some decisions don’t favour some members. But that doesn’t mean MFC don’t care. Also ring or write to the Club about it.
